He advises you on which frames to choose that are conducive to your prescription, face shape and size. I recently needed a new frame for my reading glasses. I wanted one that I could look above the frame when not using it for reading instead of having to take off and put on my glasses throughout the day. He hunted high and low for weeks and found me about 5 or 6 that would work. He said that this order was the hardest one he has ever tackled. I am truly grateful for his efforts and very satisfied with the result. You would be hard pressed to find an optician like Larry anywhere. Thank you again, Larry Richie Savetsky

As an owner of an independent optical practice I applaud Smilen's approach with Christine M. They…read moreare not glasses fitters, they are wholesale frame sellers. Unlike many other wholesalers they do not stab their customers in the back by selling frames on line to their customer's customers. Christine, if the optical center was unable to answer the question then you should have gone to another RETAILER whose staff was properly trained to fit and dispense glasses. If I have a question about or a problem with my car I go to the dealer who has trained service people, I don't contact the manufacturer. Fair disclosure: I have been a Smilen customer for over 20 years. They have enabled me to offer a good product at a good price to my patients. If you refuse to consider their products because of this incident then you're doing yourself a disservice, IMO.

I went round and round with someone this morning who refused to answer a simple question and only replied to go to a center and support local businesses and that they don't deal with consumers. I explained I wasn't trying to buy from them directly but had a question that I couldn't get answered at the optical center and they still refused to answer a simple question about specs. I won't be purchasing their products from anywhere.
