    We signed up with Dish to provide satellite tv service for my house and also for a 5th wheel…read moretrailer on the property that was owned by, and being lived in by a couple. The installation tech called the day before to confirm installation the next day, and he was told that the 5th wheel was pre-wired for cable, and all he had to do was screw the cable wire onto the Jack on the back side of the trailer. He was also told NOT to drill any holes into the side of the trailer. Next day, he came out, got out his drill and started drilling a hole high up on the front side of the unit. Unfortunately, he drilled through 3 Romex wires, all hot, and crossed 2 separate circuits, sending 240 volts through the whole electrical system. As a result, this burned out the wall heater, the power inverter that converts 120 volts to 12 volts to run the motors for the pop-outs, and burned out most of the fuses. A local RV repair place has said that they would need to pull off the siding in order to inspect the wiring for melted insulation, and they estimated the cost of the repairs at $12,000, which exceeds the value of the 5th wheel. The 5th wheel cannot be lived in its present condition, so the owner and his wife had to move out and find other housing at a much greater cost. It has been 18 months now, and the only response I've had from Dish was that they turned me over to a collection agency for the last $45 that I owe them for buying out the contract. So first, they destroyed my trailer and now they want to destroy my credit! It's amazing that these people can put a satellite into orbit and broadcast tv to a zillion people, but they're not smart enough to know even the most basic principles of customer service! This is inexcuseable! If they dont get off their butts soon, they're going to get sued. Dish is a pathetic company. Dont use their service. Find another company that understands customer service.

    I had a much better experience with Alton, the tech who came out to see why I was being dropped by…read moremy internet. He spent 70 minutes here checking my connection out by my mailbox. The last tech, a year ago, either didn't go near that connection or spent little time there. Alton sent in an order for service at that "box". He said that I might lose connection until an Optimum truck fixes whatever needs repair at that location for my internet. Alton thoroughly explained everything. He also assisted me accessing my Firestick which hadn't worked since the prior tech guy replaced my modem Spring of 2025. Alton was professional, informative, respectful. I also want to repeat how much more helpful Vic was in the downtown office than my last two visits which involved the same gentleman who seldom looked at me and seemed bored with his job.

As shown in the photos, instead of knocking and stepping back, he went straight to grabbing and testing our front door handle before even making contact. That is not "soliciting" this is crossing a serious boundary. There is absolutely no legitimate reason for a sales rep to be checking if someone's front door is unlocked. That's the kind of behavior that makes homeowners feel like they're home is being cased for burglary, not sold to. This should be taken seriously. Either this is a massive failure in training, or you've got people in the field doing things they absolutely shouldn't be doing. Knock, introduce yourself, and leave if no one answers.... it's that simple. Anything beyond that is unacceptable. Keep everything locked, and question anyone claiming to represent optimum. Until this is addressed, I would not trust anyone showing up at my door under the Optimum name.

There were 5 people ahead of me and each person took about 10 minutes to be helped. I was there for over a 1/2 hour to PICK UP EQUIPMENT. This company has ZERO respect for anyone's time. When I got home, I realized how unacceptable this was and I took the equipment back unused, I ran into the same issue. They have 2 desks in the front office, but in their mind people can simply wait for one person to help them. Oh, and unapologetic for any of it... Apparently, they feel superior (lots of people recommend them) and don't need to work for anyone's hard earned money. If you can get T-Mobile get T-Mobile... If you can get ANY other Internet, do it. JUST TAKE A BIG PASS ON SPARKLIGHT!

PRO TIP: if you want someone to pickup, make sure you select the options for new service or product, they like picking that line up over the support lines ;) You're welcome! TIME WILL TELL: i did sign up for the 1gig plan, so far not too happy as it is around 300 at best, will go over all the equipment and settings again and will come back with an update.
