Zero stars. This isn't going to be a shock to anyone, but we were extremely frustrated with Suddenlink when trying to disconnect our internet service after about 15 years. My husband called Suddenlink on May 28, 2022 to cancel our service. We were informed that they agreed to disconnect the service. Then my husband saw suddenlink was charging our bank account even though we cancelled it. So he called, dealt with various operators for over an hour and was told it was cancelled. Then I took the equipment back to the suddenlink store on May 31 and was told our service still hadn't been cancelled and she gave me a number to call. We called the number, the man accepted the last four digits of my social to talk about the account. Then he said he had to transfer us to another operator to confirm the disconnect. That lady didn't know my social security number, so she said that I had to find the date and amount of our last payment. So I gave the phone to my husband and she said she refused to speak to him since his name was not on the account. Then I had to tell her the amount and date of our last payment, and she tried to convince me not to cancel the account. This was our fourth interaction with suddenlink trying to cancel our account, so I said no. Then my husband asked why it was so difficult to cancel our account, and the lady hung up on us!!! My husband called back and demanded to speak to a supervisor. That operator refused to transfer the call to a supervisor without going through our entire account identification procedure. Finally, my husband got a supervisor. The supervisor was really nice and apologized for the hassle and he said he cancelled our account. I don't know if I believed him or not, but I will edit this review if our service still isn't cancelled. If you are counting, we had to speak to at least 6 different operators to discontinue our service. We will never use Suddenlink again. read more

This place deserves negative stars! Seriously the worst business in town. Took over a week to come install service, then when they did show up it was 8pm on a weekday. They left a cord strung across my yard and said they needed a bucket truck and would return, a week went by and they didn't so I called them. They came out and told me they needed a bucket truck again and then left, again they didn't show back up so I called and they came out AGAIN only to tell me they needed a bucket truck again.... seriously? Customer service sucks!! Called to cancel cable and when she transferred me I got a recording saying I was calling outside business hours...it was 9:30 am on Wednesday morning! So I got hung up! Then when my husband called and after waiting more than 30 minutes he finally got through but got put on hold for another 15 minutes while he checked on his account. After being put on hold twice he finally got disconnected! Whoever is reading this should listen to the reviews! Don't subscribe to their service! You will regret it and don't say we didn't warn you! This is the ONLY Provider in our area so suddenlink is at liberty to treat customers poorly, with above normal charges for below average services. It's unsuddenlink or dish.....my phone doesn't work properly and causes Internet to drop when I talk on it... Netflix .... S l o w streaming... Internet has to be reset weekly it seems to receive any service. & all this for only $150. A month read more

I would give them no stars if possible. The have the worst customer service ever in all forms of communication wether it's calling in or chatting threw the mobile app (don't get me started on the app). When chatting they constantly disconnect on you after you have waited 20 minutes at the minimum. Calling in is the same thing. I pay for 1gb of internet and I have never received that speed. They always blame it on your equipment, so I rented equipment from them same story, they also said that "they cannot figure out why they are unable to add my personal modem that I purchased to my account that the system just doesn't let them and there has been a ticket for weeks and no one has called me during regular business hrs I got 2 calls at 2:30am and it was the automated system basically telling me to f myself because there is no one available ( no crap it's 2:30am) and that I will have to reschedule yet again after waiting 5 days to receive this call. When the technician came out to set up the internet he said that he was "not allowed to set up customers equipment and that it had to be set up using suddenlink's". My bill shows one due date but the app shows another and when calling to verify I get hung up on, oh my bad "the call was dropped" and chatting continues to disconnect on me. My apartments offer cable that's included with the rent, I declined the boxes they give us but still want the service because I can sign into channels using Apple TV... well they are trying to add it to my bill. The list of issues goes on and on and on. I really want another company to come to San Angelo that offers good service, prices and great customer service. They treat their customer like trash and continue to get away with it. I know what your thinking, switch providers but there's nothing in town that will come close to what I need the internet for which is a shame. Going to the office is another nightmare. There is always people in there who are furious with this company and not enough people to help out. read more

I only use suddenlink for Internet, no cable, no phone. They'll sneakily raise the bill on you. No warning, no rhyme or reason my bill went from roughly 60/mo to 90/mo with a 122 dollar fee to switch me to the 90 dollar rate. It's too bad my options are limited because I would leave in a heartbeat. read more

Literally the worst customer service, they messed up and said my bill wasn't due until October 17th so I wasn't going to pay until oct 17th. They turned my WiFi off and said I was past due. I have screenshots of their mishap and have tried getting ahold of them for the past 3 days. Have waited on the phone for almost 2 hrs each time waiting for someone to help me. No one reached out, no one answered the phone. Finally just paid the bill so I could have my WiFi but literally 0 stars. Awful. read more

Negative, negative negative rating. I just found out that we've been being charged for a phone that we 1. We're never told about & 2. never seen. They claimed it came with out package deal, but we never got that package deal. When I tried calling multiple, multiple times and left endless voicemails never got a phone call back going on for about 6 months. Finally I reach someone and they tell me it's MY FAULT for not checking my statement, oh but I forgot to mention we stopped getting any paper statements or electronic statements about 4 months after having them. When I call about this they again say it was my fault, but I told them I have requested these for months as have not received one! While finally once the phone with them, they tell me that my bill goes higher every year, but no one informed us when we received this service. Even though we asked all these questions when we received this service, these sneaky sneaky people I swear. I don't recommend after this whole fiasco. read more

I have been a Suddenlink customer for 2 years and at first my service was great. But it has gradually gone downhill. My bill began at $70 for unlimited internet. I now pay $117 for JUST INTERNET. I have been told so many different things from other customers as well. For example, I was told when I first signed up with the service that I could not use my own modem for the service and my coworkers have all told me they've been using their own for years and have never paid as much as I am and they have internet AND cable packages. May look elsewhere for better options.. read more

Six hours into a standard home (they tell you to expect that) install they decided to give up after three tries to set up a mini tivo. I was told I had to sign that the work order was finished and he would try to come back tomorrow. If I wanted to schedule another appointment I would be charged. Did you realize Suddenlink expects you to wait 4 hours for them and if you are not there they will charge you $60 for their visit but they want you to take half a day off from your work not get paid and they're going to charge you $60 if you happen not to be there sitting around waiting for 4 hours when all they have to do is call you for you to be there that is ridiculous I will not pay the $60 that is just total ignorance Suddenlink used to be one of the only few corporations I actually respected they are going downhill. read more

Run as fast as you can in the other direction if you're considering signing up with Suddenlink... this is the worst company I've ever had experience with! For starters, their website goes down an awful lot, especially when you're attempting to access your account. Our internet here goes down at least 15 times a day and technicians have been by to fix it several times, not one can get our internet to stay on consistently. I went from paying $52 three years ago to now paying $74 for the same package, same terrible service! There are TWO internet providers out here from what I've gathered and I might consider switching between the two constantly anytime one offers a better promotion... so sick of price laddering for an unreliable product. read more

Went back to Suddenlink because I need better internet. The quick hook up feature did not work and a technician had to called for Internet and scheduled for cable. When the cable individuals arrived they said it looks like the last guy put Suddenlink through a bunch of extra lines, degrading the signal. I now have everything hooked up but DVR only records in 1 min increments. Called tech to fix, hitting the 15 min mark and still no one has picked up. read more

This company has serious issues. Has them turn off my cable at least 8 years ago due to poor customer service but had to keep their internet service being they are the only ones in town. Been paying for internet for the last 8 years and by accident missed one payment in October and was never notified I missed the payment. This February they just turned off my internet and I had to pay a late fee to get it reconnected after spending a full day to figure out I missed a payment. After I got everything paid, with a mint in advance, I receive a phone call telling me I was behind on my payment. Go figure 4 months and after the making the payment they notify me. These people need to learn about customer service. Would not recommend them to anyone!!! Looking for another internet supplier as we speak. read more

Run as fast as you can Just started this service and already Have problems. They charged me a service charge for $60.00 When you call them they say sorry you owe this when you ask to talk to someone above them they tell you there is no one above them The service call I had I smart kid walk in my house and tracked snow in my house. This provider is absolutely the worst. Where I currently reside they are the only show in town, unfortunately for its victims. For example, I am currently watching a CBS program that I purchase through AppleTV via Suddenlink. Every 5 minutes the show just stops. It appears that it is buffering but who knows. I also used to be able to watch Fox News Live on my IPad but then suddenly Suddenlink told me they were not carrying that station. Suddenlink is my TV internet and wifi provider. What an unprofessional mess. They obviously do not care because they do change for the better. Looking at dish. Since I have been typing this, the program has stalled 6 times. Suddenlink is best at taking your money. Poor customer service no follow up. Had a picture problem set a time missed worked & no one showed up. When I called was told the tech had canceled the ticket because he saw a note on the account that we had our own TiVo therfore he decided I needed a cable card for my TiVo how was I going to know this if he did not call & tell me? I found this out but calling them. I called TiVo they walked me through a few things spent 45 min. On the phone with me & problem fixed "no cable card needed" sad thing is I pay extra a mo. To have ins. To cover what is in my house. I pay Suddenlink $160.00 a Mo. & can't even get a call back, but I pay TiVo $13.00 a Mo. & they fixed my problem & it had nothing to to with my TiVo box. I pay $90 a month for basic cable and internet. I upgraded to 100mbps and rarely get 25. Now they've added a paper fee to send a bill which is mostly junk ads for other companies! Please end cable monopolies! read more

Suddenlink is the most expensive internet service provider I've ever seen. My last provider was less than half the price and didn't limit the amount of internet I could use per month. Unfortunately it seems to be one of the only options for people in the San Angelo area. Don't get me wrong, the internet is normally fine - but it's not even slightly worth the price. Suddenlink is fairly responsive to fix problems, and there seem to be a lot. I have the bundle--phone, internet and cable. The cable continuously pauses and you lose a few words. Happens all the time. They give you refurbished equipment if you do not specifically ask for a "new" box. I found this out after my cable box kept overheating and failing.The biggest complaint I have is that their rates rise, and rise, and rise. When you call to talk to them about it, they have a recording that says it is due to taxes they are passing on to you. I sincerely doubt it. I am now paying $155.02 per month and I am on a fixed income. This is almost my highest expense, even more than electricity during the peak summer months. Ridiculous. I wish we had a choice. I would switch in a nano second. I did try Dish, but you lose reception if there is any kind of storm, so that didn't work either. read more

Very unhappy with service. Wifi isn't as reliable. Have to reset modem when that happens. Cost is very high. They advertise $69 a month for a triple play. Don't believe without reading the fine print. I'm paying over $200 a month. Wish we had more competition. Won't happen in San Angelo. read more

Suddenlink dropped Viacom channels. When I complained, they gave us a $5 discount/month for 6 months. Then they raised the rates by $5 the next month so the discount meant nothing. I contacted customer service through email twice and then by phone before I was able to figure this out. The bill does not break down the charges, and Customer Service does not seem to know exactly what Suddenlink is charging. Also they claim they have phone and chat 24/7, but they are only available during standard business hours. They have a monopoly in San Angelo and act accordingly. This business should have their customer service agents and supervisors be responsible for their actions. They gave me the wrong information and sent me on a hour and a half ghost chase for a store that was closed after I was assured the store would be open from 9am-2pm. When I called to complain their response was "so what should we do about it" I know that if sudden link employees were treated this way it would be the head of the company that did so. There is no accountability for this companies actions and they act if it is no big deal. If there are any other options for services to be provided, look into it! I had better luck with time Warner cable customer service and that should say enough. How do you tell a new customer as I quote what she told me "it is what it is" if I get an answer like that before I am even a paying customer. We'll start with Internet Service First. June of 2015 we were supposed to have been bumped up from 50 meg to 75 Meg and the cost went up $10 a month.. According to our bill we were being billed for 75 mag butt we were only receiving 50 meg. I noticed it in December that we were supposed to get 75 Meg but I've been doing internet speed test using speedtest.net I've been getting right above 50 Meg. So I called them up and December had technicians come out twice the technicians said there's interference in the line-out back. So they were supposed to go out and fix it I saw the trucks out back and after that I still only had 50 meg. So in March I called him up technician came out and replace the line from my house to the pole and I still only had 50 men. Another technician came out two days later hooked up his equipment call it in and then I had over .81 Meg. He hooked up my modem and said it was probably my modem and left. Immediately I did a speed test and I had over 81 Meg. It was a huge hassle just to get what you're paying for. Now to television service. We had Dish for 10 years the price went up to just over $100 a month and decided to switch to Suddenlink. We got the 200 package a lot of it was analog matching HD channels that they counted in the 200 package. Had to get the hopper that was $40 extra a month. Wasn't too happy with their service and was paying way too much for cable and internet. Our bill is like $164 a month and they were advertising internet satellite TV and landline for $75 a month. And that's for new customers of course so if you're not a new customer you getting screwed bad. So Dish TV had a special so we went back to them and got all the channels we like for a lot less. read more

Really 0 stars. I had Suddenlink back when it was Cox. I then moved overseas for several years and returned in November of 2010. Called Suddenlink to get cable and Internet, and was told that I had an outstanding balance from 2009. I was stationed in Korea in 2009. The representative on the phone told me I could take my military orders into Suddenlink and they would take care of it. I did just that. The lady then acted like I was a common criminal. She told me that there was nothing she could do, an she doubted I had been in Korea in 2009 because I obviously received services from them and that she didn't care that I was military and had orders showing where I was and that military doesn't receive any special treatment. I was not asking for special treatment, only for them to figure out why they say I received services at an address I've never lived out while I wasn't even in the country. Seriously!! read more

Suddenlink is a huge scam. Shame on the city of San Angelo for allowing this scamming company to be the internet provider in this town so they basically have a monopoly and can do whatever they want.I have been with them for 17 years and they treat their loyal customers horribly. I have internet service only and my bill this month is $155. I have called 3 times and was promised many things none of which occurred. I had never heard of our cable having a data plan until months ago and I have been slammed with exorbitant fees since then. On one of many calls I was told I would now have unlimited data for a fee of $10 /month, ( another scam) and free upgrade to highspeed internet ( why isn't the best speed of internet the one offered in your regular monthly fee) for one year for all my trouble. Instead this month they charged me the extra $10 for unlimited data and then charged me $60 for going over my data plan. When I called for the 3rd time I was told that the data usage charge was for 2 months go. Will some big company such as verizon or AT&T please make internet service available in San Angelo so suddenlink can go out of business!!!!!!! I am telling everyone to please help the citizens of San Angelo to be free of this tyranny from the company that calls themselves SUDDENLINK!!!!!! read more
