In June of this year I replaced my TV box. The next month they billed me for 2 boxes because replacement was never indicated in their system. I called Optimum back then and it looked like the issue was taken care of. Not so fast! This month they billed me for 2 boxes again although I have only 1 TV set. Yesterday I called them and spent over an hour on the phone. When I asked to let me talk with the supervisor, they didn't want to transfer my call. Finally they did, but it alone took about 15 minutes. Supervisor was very rude and even yelled at me. After that I had to chat with them which took me another 2 hours. Absolutely horrible company. Optimum is the worst, constantly offline. You cannot do any work on the computer or mobile phone, and home phone shuts off when internet goes off. Every time I call they say you need a new modem, baloney they are shutting off the internet and charging big $'s for shit service. Do Not Get Optimum! read more

Working from home the internet is EVERYTHING and the constant drops in connectivity prohibits me from working. I'm addition the TV service on all four tv's is severely distorted. No one has returned my call and both techs that were dispatched to my residence have put a band-aide on the issue. Optimum -Altice has shown very little interest to resolve this issuing and yet monthly bill continues to increase. I understand there are protocols in place but at this point fixing the internet & tv service should be priority yet they schedule a specialists fir two days from today which leads to once again me not being able to work from home. Optimum-Freehold - This is the cable service I receive from Optimum -Altice in Piscataway NJ - Television Service Providers Near Me - Freehold, New Jersey

The only reason we have Optimum is that there aren't any other options, FIOS wouldn't work with our location. Optimum- they're always down even when there is no storm. They have NO customer service and they have no timeframe for you to be back up. If you like to spend hundreds a month for service that is spotty and also goes down a few times a month then I highly recommend. Their handling of Isaias was despicable- everyone filed an FCC complaint. Hopefully someone will be watching over their practices in the future and teach them some basic Operations and Protocol and perhaps a little QA. I could never recommend Optimum and I'm upset I have no choice but to use them as my provider. I highly recommend you provide an FCC Consumer Complaint. Optimum no showed without explanation during my installation window and advised they had no means of contacting the tech. Also no showed during the rescheduled 3 hour window but did show more than an hour late. Then refused to install a box compatable with my tv (HDMI only) and also refused to install tv and telephone jacks where I wanted them insisting that I use preexisting jacks. Forgot to install phone and had to restart. A disaster. And no help from Customer service. read more

Wish I could give less than one star, freehold has worst customer service I have ever experienced, nasty miserable employees that had the audacity to want to charge me for a power cord for equipment of theirs that was defective and I have been paying for for 2 years! Their service is often faulty, their so-called customer service is a nightmare to deal with and they raise rates on a frequent basis without telling the customers. One star is way too generous for this rip off company. Subscription rates are outrageous for Lousy service, internet constantly goes out, DVR works sometimes other times it can't find shows that have already been recorded and phone that I don't even want but you must take in order to receive a small discount is just as unreliable. The system is constructed to bare minimum specifications and minute there is increased demand nothing works correctly. They don't care about the subscribers because we don't have many options. In my area it's Optimum or A dish provider. Can't wait for the day when we are given other options so I can dump this crappy company. Don't subscribe to optimum. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.... Customer service is the worst I have ever experiences PERIOD... 35 minutes on hold and when I got a woman on the other end she claimed she couldn't hear me and hung up in my face. Altice 1 is horrible.. 3 months now and ZERO wifi usage on my bill because it's such a POS. Paying 500.00 in data to Verizon Wireless because internet has not worked since day one!! When it worked it was fine. Then they shut the service off for no reason. Fine, mistakes happen. Then the billing problems came. They overcharged me $10 saying "late payment". They said had two boxes. Wrong, and wrong. The customer service people said my payment was late, and that I received a credit, which was incorrect. I was not ever in the country when the alleged credit was issued. Three times I asked to speak with a supervisor, in hope that this could be resolved.....and those three time I was hung up on. To bad a one star review is as low as I can go with this. I moved and had to switch from Xfinity/Comcast to Optimum. Where to start ... We need to pull the power on the cable box then plug it back in more then 50% of the time to get the cable working. The user interface on their system is STUPID. Yes you can watch a TV show on demand good luck figuring out the most current episode. Why in gods name are they all jumbled and not in sequence? Seasons mixed together? Some shows have no description of the episode or what date it aired ! I should not have to google a show to use the on demand feature. When they installed the cable they just put a whole in the wall did not install any cover on it and did part way up the wall so its visible. I was thinking of ditching cable anyway now that is defiantly going to happen. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. I was just at the freehold location trying to return a box and met Roxanne. She represents all that is wrong with Optimum and why people no longer use their services. I went in for simple return and to find out about expanding my services. Instead I got Roxanne who was rude, yelling, called me difficult when I didn't understand, laughed at me, and then walked away. I have never had someone walk away even when the conversation was challenging. She then wouldn't give me her last name or any details for me to report her. I do detest optimum. Not only is the service spotty and it is hard to update things. But there customer service is beyond awful. Being rude to me was not just bad customer service, but poor human sensibility. How did this company get such a monopoly? The bill just keeps going up every few months with less services. You can call to try to negotiate the charges - sometimes they give you a promotion - most of the time "there is nothing available" to lessen your bill. I was promised no rate change for 2 years in September 2018, but by December, the bill was already going up. After 2 more phone calls, each over a half hour, and with 2 promises of a suporvisor to return my call, the 1st time no call at all, the 2nd time, 5 days later I received a return call, but alas, there was nothing to do to lessen my bill... The area I live in does not offer Verizon service, and the few other options we have have poor reception. Our hands are tied and Optimum knows it. Very sad indeed. read more

I have internet with them. It is frequently slow and intermittently disconnects altogether. I reboot everything. Sometimes it helps; sometimes it doesn't. I contacted them. They said that there weren't other reports of problems, but you only need to visit "DownDetector" to know that's not accurate. And the bill keeps going up. Time to call our representatives to introduce more competition into this 2 company market...monopoly. read more

If I could put a negative I would. BEWARE!! If you move only one day after your service agreement you will be responsible for the whole month of service even though you moved!! This means Optimum is receiving two payments for the same location! SHAME ON THEM for enforcing this practice!! I moved on January 14th and because my service runs from the 7th of each month, they are charging me for the full month - 1/7/19 through 2/7/19. Although I explained I knew for certain that the new occupant initialized their own new service effective on the 10th of January they did not care!! This is definitely the worst customer experience ever! We could not even get the service installed. We had a window of 10-8 this past Wednesday and the technician was a NO SHOW. Never bothered to call, email or text. Called customer service during the window time several times, they said they couldn't check on the status until the window ended. We filed a complaint with the CEO and didn't speak with anyone until Friday and was told he was overbooked. We cancelled our installation and we will never use Altice One service ever again! We don't understand why they advertise and market the service when they don't even show up to install it and didn't bother to call with a reason or an apology or an offer to make amends for their lack of respect and business sense. read more

I've used Cablevision for several years now and have been very pleased with the connection and service. I've had to replace my DVR/cable box a couple times ( remember, I've had this service for a very long time and boxes occasionally need replacement or upgrades periodically) and the customer service at their shop has always been painless. They will, for a fee of course, bring one to the house but I'd rather not treat their drivers like a delivery servise and only use them if there's a problem, which has never been the case. Occasionally I've had to call about a problem with taping a show, but they fix it over the phone by resetting it remotely (magic!). There was one time I switched to Verizon because of a special they were running, but switched back after getting the bill with all kinds of add-on charges. Verizon even tried ruining my credit because of that, but fought it because I was in the window when you're allowed to. When I switched back, I asked Cablevision about the "special " lines they bragged about, and he laughed, telling me they all use the same lines! The big box Verizon installed was eventually used by my neighbor so that was not just sitting there in the basement for nothing (we live in a brick house so they weren't able to mount it to the side of the house, which is an eyesore imho). Again, I'm extremely pleased with their service, and on the rare occasions it goes out, they're quick to fix the problem and have even credited our account when the transformer blew out and they couldn't replace it the same day. read more

Can't rate the store itself, but Optimum Cablevision has got to be the absolute worst cable provider I have ever had. The DVR and on demand service is down every other day, and our wifi is constantly going in and out. Trying to reach someone to assist is impossible, so customer service is terrible. Not to mention the exorbitantly high bill for their service. I have also emailed them regarding outages and received no reply. Today they called and I saw it on the caller ID thinking they were returning a call for outage, but, nope, they were trying to get me to sign up for some Showtime crap. If you have other cable service options in your area, I HIGHLY recommend you go with them instead of Optimum. read more

Hands down the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. Tried to cancel my service after being charged for a month's worth of an upgrade I never ordered. Apparently, anyone can pick up a remote when you have Cablevision and upgrade. No security is available. Renters likely did this without my knowledge. Took me literally half a day trying to cancel my service and 4 separate phone calls because they continued to plug their services rather than just cancel me. In addition, they will bill through to the end of your billing period regardless of when you cancel which they admit is a penalty. Plus I was billed for the upgrade in this penalty period because they failed to process it before I canceled. Plus, user interface is antiquated and hard to navigate. Never again. read more

This is the Worst Cable system that I have ever tried. They installed this on a Saturday, it did not work in two hours. I called them to send someone to fix it and they wanted to charge me an additional $80 dollars. I canceled this service on Monday and got Verizon who came the next day to give me a system that is perfect . I returned the equipment to Optimum and they told me I would get a refund within two weeks. Guess, what it's over a month and Still no check, They also told me that ALTICE and the Remote are not working well and they had to get the kinks out of it. What a terrible experience. read more

I had an account in Manalapan for 30 years. I moved to Florida. After countless calls to customer service trying to correct and pay a final bill.(last one conveniently hung up on me after 20 minutes of not answering any questions.)- I was told there are no re-percussions to deal with them once you disconnect service even if their billing is incorrect and you are moving away. Several months prior I returned 2 of 4 cable boxes. They took away my triple play discount. I called multiple times during Covid and sometimes wait times over 4 hrs. I brought up incorrect billing each time. Nothing was addressed. No credits. I asked for a supervisor or a department that perhaps would listen to my complaint of improper billing. There is no mechanism to even have a true conversation with anyone that actually interacts with you. At this time I would like to pay my bill but on principle I will probably see them in court. Incidentally, they also stuck on additional unauthorized sport channels and crazy charges. Once you disconnect you can"t even go online. Thank god I have everything documented. Gary N.
