She walked me through every step of the way with care, kindness, and patience. She was thorough and meticulous and explained things to me, and had an excellent way where I didn't feels rushed or like I was bothering her, and I felt in the my bones that she was looking out of me. She genuinely was there to help me, and had my best interest at heart. Periodically, Ira the manager would join for additional assistance, and backup, and she was kind and helpful. I have a cable box that does not work. I called Optimum and we hadto be on the phone for almost an hour. I had to beg for service, well the service rep came and said I will have someone come tomorrow to change out the box because your box is old and we have wireless boxes. No one showed up .When chatting with them again asking me what's wrong and going through the whole story again I was passed on to the third person. Finally, an appointment was made. After that, I got a text and two more phone calls telling me they need to finalize and talk to me before they send a technician. This is the worst service I have ever had. I went to this Optimum Store today just to return a cable box. The store was still observing all the Covid safety protocols. Besides masking, social distancing, limiting inside capacity, the store also had barriers roped off around the plexiglass service windows. I had stand three feet away from the service window to do my return. This was worst than the windows at the bank. The line was long and slow. There was about a dozen people before me when I got in the store. Before that, I had to wait outside for people to leave; note that the temperature on this day was around 30 degrees with wind chills of 18. The line was also moving very slowly with only 3-4 service reps working the windows. My transaction took only 3 minutes but I had to wait for more than 30 mins on line. This location is in the cut... dead end street... of a semi-residential block. And not to mention all of the fencing around the Optimum building. It looks like a prison. I went on a Tuesday around 11:30 AM and was out before 12 noon. This place is very cold, don't expect any friendly decor. And all of the employees are behind a thick glass wall. There are 2 different lines do read the signs and just be aware of which rep is calling next. The Representative helping me barely spoke to me or made eye contact. Long wait times, ineffective operators, and a obvious biased prompting system that favors "new service" over existing customers is FRUSTRATING! I opted to go to the store for my simple request to eliminate cable and upgrade WiFI. I waited over 30 minutes for one of their customer service agents ( a lofty undeserving title) only to be told if I wanted to get the best deal I should call the help line. He had no sympathy to my past efforts and was unwilling to help me find a solution. Their business model to make adjusting or eliminating services impossibly challenging is unethical and DISGUSTING. I will be looking for a new provider ASAP. Don't waste your time with this company if you have a choice. read more

This is quite literally the worst internet provider. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. We spent 4.5 hours on the phone with them just trying to schedule a technician to come to set up our internet, while we continued to be bumped from one customer service rep to another and then got hung up twice throughout the process and had to recall and start all over. If that was not already bad enough, we then were overcharged 200% more what we were quoted originally over the phone and then spent another 2 hours on the phone, again being bumped from person to person to get a refund. Finally, the 15th customer service rep advised we should see the refund within 24hrs on our account. I'll let you fill in the blanks on whether that actually happened or not. If this was not already the worst customer experience possible, 7 days after setting up our service, our internet stopped working. After calling yet again and having a service rep troubleshoot and reboot our router, our internet resumed it's mediocre service for 72 more hours until it failed yet again. I am writing this review as I currently am waiting on hold to speak to another service representative. If you want to maintain your sanity, please DO NOT use this service. Optimum is straight trash. Horrible wait time, but their customer service personnel tries their best. They have TODAY, one window for non-payment issues, one window for Altice Mobile only, and one / two windows for payment only. Guess which line is the longest . They also have a security guard to divert people to the correct line. Despite long wait times, there is no " public " restroom. All their security cameras can verify this. Anyone that has been to this place can verify this. People getting rowdy as well, I guess that is why they need a security guard. ::edit:: this was a one star, but I bumped it up to three Literally after a minute of me posting the one star, two customer service representatives came out of no where to help the " non - payment issue " line. I was told to return my equipment here and the line is ridiculous! I can't understand why the line is as long as it is just to return equipment - they need to do a better job at efficiency. There are people who are just trying to drop these heavy boxes off and others who have more complex issues, there should be separate lines for both so people could be in and out! Whoever is managing this place needs to do a better job! Additionally, I had a service call and they called the wrong # so I missed it and they charged me $80. I was livid even tho there was proof in the service request with the wrong #. I told the woman I would legit cut off my service and she said that was fine. I called another customer service rep and she took the $80 off but I immediately went to FiOS once it was available in my building. When I called to terminate my service they then wanted to offer to lower my bill by $100. You guys weren't saying any of that when you charged me $80 and I told you is terminate my service. While it is a trek[subway + bus] to get to Optimum Brooklyn; the neighborhood is safe, the facility is secure & clean, and organized. The staff [Devon?] was cooperative, understanding, and informative --not at all like Optimum's pathetic customer service or 'troubleshooters' that we encounter by phone. He never took it and they are charging me $180 for this oversight on their part and reported me to debit collection company even after agent told me they would waive the charge since technition was supposed to take the modem. I WILL BE FILING A COMPLAINT WITH BBB and FCC regarding this as I believe they deliberately leave behind equitment when customers move so that they can charge this ridiculous fee for a plastic box that has no inherant value. This is NOT A STORE. Where is it?? How did other people find it? I see pictures of this storefront and i have no idea where it actually is because there was no strip mall where i just was. I just tried to visit this store to get my broken modem replaced. The guy on the phone last night told me that if someone brought me a modem to my home and they determined the problem with the modem wasn't with the equipment itself (in other words if they decide if stopped working because I broke it) that they would charge me $80 for the appointment. I sure don't have that kind of money to waste if a service guy decides my modem stopped working on my account. So I take a $14 Uber ride to this supposed location and first I'm being dropped off on a residential street, no storefronts in sight. I have the driver, who has now gotten another rider and needs to drop me somewhere, drive around the block to see if the pin in the map where it shows the supposed address has an entrance on the other side. The landscape changed pretty quickly We drove under some elevated rail under which there were some people living in tents, and then I had to get out on a street with no stores, just auto body shops and some warehouses. I suspect that one of those warehouses has optimum housed in it but there's no way for a pedestrian to get to it. Maybe if I walked back to the tent city next to the railroad tracks I'd have found it, but I'm a young woman and I don't feel safe. And I say that as a lifelong New Yorker of 30+ years, who has lived in Harlem, Flatbush, crown heights, greenpoint and the upper west side. Every kind of neighborhood. I'm not someone who's uncomfortable in industrial areas and this place made me feel like a target. People were staring at me like I was crazy for being there and I felt crazy for being there. I should have figured, when the location was a 20 minute walk from any subway stop, that this was a bad idea but the store was listed on the Optimum website. It seemed close enough to the Brooklyn College area to be in that big shopping neighborhood but boy was I wrong. For optimum to send customers here is a disgrace. Maybe someone with a car could noodle around and figure out where the hell this place is, but it is not an appropriate place to send New Yorkers on foot. Meanwhile my partner is missing a day of work because we have no internet. Optimum came to the house in March when the modem started being faulty, and the guy had the audacity to come in here and tell me I hadn't screwed the coax cable in tight enough. I had already troubleshooted the modem and router on my own, and knew that wasn't the case but he said "look I fixed it this was loose" and left. I knew then that the modem was failing and this was going to bite me in the ass later. Which was last night, when I unplugged my modem and router from one surge protector to put them on a different one. Modem didn't wanna turn back on. I was not surprised. So now I'm out $30 for the round trip to the middle of nowhere, wasted a morning, and still no internet. Optimum needs to take this "store" location off its website. I'm so angry. Atice mobile has horrible business practices. Access to a representative is impossible. One access is achieved the representative will loop for an extensive amount of time and claim there is nothing they can do to assist you. The mobile account acquired was cancelled, a credit was issued for invalid charges. They are the worse, they hang up on me. I had to report them to the FCC for disconnecting my service during the pandemic and for charging me late fees and reconnection fees even though they pledged to keep America connected during this time. This pledge means that they would not disconnect anyone's service and not charge those fees. But this is not the first time I have had issues with optimum. They have a long history of over charging me, even when my service is not working due to their failing system. I am sick of them and I am stuck with them due to politics. Our politicians allow these companies to monopolize the market in certain area. I called them because I have been having problems with the internet. They tell me that its my decives. I have three different laptops and two phones. I they finally send someone to check it out and realized that yes, their services are not working. He tells me I need to get a different box. I say fine. He couldn't put it in, so I had to call in and wait for someone else to come out. I wait another 4 days for this person to come. He sets up the "new" boxes and it still doesn't work. I tell the tech its not working and his response is, I have to go. I still don't have a working service. I have been on hold for 2 hours. This is rediculous. Sales customer and manager service weren't really helpful I came here this past Tuesday to try to settle a credit on my account but there told me there don't give out credit on accounts at this bill payment location which I find very awkward (but if you give them money on your bill there will take that dough ), there told me you have to call optimum for credits on your account. during the ending of the month of April 2020 our cable and landline went down, during the coronavirus epidemic we had no way watching the news .thank god for mobile devices and streaming services for news. I have been having a lot of trouble with this internet provider- choppy service even after an upgrade and a router break down mere weeks after installation!! It got to the point that the telephone customer service gave me no choice but to shlep to the store because I couldn't wait another week for another router in the mail. One star has to be off for the location. The store is in a remote dead end location with graffiti (not the artistic kind) and barbed wire fences all around. If they put a sign near the bus stop directing people, it would make the world of a difference. Transportation: If you take the b6 bus make sure it is not the limited one because it will not stop until it's well past E45th. I was dreading going to this location but once I was inside I received lightning speed service. Irina was kind and courteous and explained the basics of new router installation. The store is clean and the lines are short. I went around 12:30pm and was in and out in under 15 minutes. TIP1: Go down to the dead end on E45...it looks scary and sketchy and like there is nothing there but just as youre about to hit the end you will see Optimum to the right. TIP2: Bring a picture ID and make sure the account holder authorizes you to conduct business on their behalf (if youre not the acct holder) because they WILL refuse you service otherwise. read more

I didn't want to risk shipping it all and it getting damaged on the way. I was so pleasantly surprised at the level of organization and professionalism displayed at this location. They have a parking lot too. Everything is self explanatory. The line is not long, you're not waiting forever and they keep it going in an orderly and timely fashion. The service was great, but I HAVE to deduct a star for the remoteness and general creepiness of the location. They might as well be on a deserted island with a single palm tree. First, the service. It's fair to say I had the lowest of expectations. All I needed to do was return a cable box, while maintaining the promotional rate I wanted for internet. The staffer who helped me - I believe his name was Yan - not only understood what I was trying to do, he facilitated it even though it meant less money for Optimum. I walked out 20 minutes later completely satisfied. However, I was also marooned. Getting here means taking the 2 to the end of the line, then walking over a mile. Most of it is residential, but my path took me past some pretty stark warehousing too. The Optimum store itself sits on a bleak lot surrounded by tall fencing and barbed wire. I couldn't remember if I was there for customer service or visiting my boy Harry in the pen. I would recommend biking here, not walking. Or, if you have the time, mail your equipment to them. I would only recommend walking if you're a Manhattanite. Get out. Live a little, islanders. read more

He wouldn't wait. He got away with not doing his job. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I try really hard to not be negative and that I rarely give zero stars. All of this has changed with Optimum. If I could give negative stars, I would. The service, the cost, the lack of infrastructure, the rude employees - I could go on and on. First and foremost I had no choice but to have Optimum after moving, due to the neighborhood only having Optimum in the area. I was shocked at how expensive their cable is for not great channels; I had cheaper cable for just as many channels with TimeWarner; almost all of the good channels are on their more expensive plans. The service is crap. My internet is slow, my wifi cuts in and out and again, it is pretty pricey for bad channel options. Then there is the service. They almost ALWAYS lose my checks because their mail address is in Pittsburgh and they process so slowly. If you call to complain, they fill out a form, which then takes days to process. Also, I cannot pay by phone because every single time I call, I can NEVER get an operator on the phone and they charge you to speak with an operator for payment. I tried to use the phone automated system but they entered my zip code incorrectly, and I have been asking for months for it to be changed, but they tell me that they have to fill out a form, it will take a few days etc etc - and my zip code is still wrong in their system and I have been begging them to change it since April. Also if you pay by phone, they will robocall you incessantly. Unlike Time Warner, they do not have many walk in locations near major subways, and the locations that they do have are in far away, remote places in Brooklyn; one of their walk ins is actually in kind of a rough spot. For this local you have to take a long bus ride and then walk or take a very expensive uber. All in all, I have to say, I am really miserable with Optimum. I havent written a one star review in months, but they deserve it all the way. read more
