Excellent customer service experience!…read more Worked with agent Ann David over the phone. She is knowledgeable, thorough and extremely patient (I ask a lot of questions!) I began the day prepared to cancel RCN service....i am happy to remain an RCN customer. Ann made what cou have been a frustrating experience into an easy one. I wish all customer service agents would be as dedicated and professional as Ann I was not asked to post a review

As has been said before by many others, this company has bad customer service. Far worse than the…read moreservice is their dishonesty. Astound is a good name for these people. The low level customer service and the way the company bilks customers is astounding. They claim to be giving you a five (5) year price lock. In my case, two months later they change the name of your promotion to Promotion for Life. They say that this means that only the taxes can go up if they do, but not the price for the service in my case, $40.00 with $5.66 in taxes for a total of $45.66. Do not be fooled. All their promotions, regardless of names, can be renamed and repriced at any time. They actively promote Autobilling, which means they take the money directly out of your bank account each month. It is not worth getting a $5 reduction to have these crooks get access to your bank account. Once you provide them with your bank account number, they can help themselves to any amount. Prices with Astound change at the drop of a hat. They do this by claiming that your plan's name was changed. What this means is that they hiked the price. Am actively going to see if I can find a better deal elsewhere. These people are nasty and only interested in bilking customers. These are seasoned scam artists.

I am super happy with the service I received from this long time neighborhood business. I live…read morearound the corner from the shop and needed to replace two old window units ( that I bought from Sears years and years ago; my whole life I bought all my appliances from Sears). I went to Radioland to buy the new A/Cs, the owner said he wanted to come by the house and take a look. He did that a couple of days later, checked the room, the units and the outlets, told me both units are smaller than he would normally recommend but also told me that one might be repairable and could be moved to a different room and I would only need to buy one A/C. He came another day and cleaned up the old A/C and it worked fine after that. I then went back to the store, bought my new A/C on a Friday and he came and installed it the next Monday (and moved the old A/C to a different room and took away the one that was there). Yes, it involved a few trips to the store (around the corner) and I could see this is not for everyone; some folks might prefer to just drive to Best Buy or Home Depot pick out an A/C and arrange for it to be shipped installed in one trip. But for me this is perfect and gave me great peace of mind. I don't drive, hate dealing with shipping and arranging installation/removal. This was a very comfortable process for me where I ended up with a quality product, professional installation and was sold the product I needed, not something I didn't. Plus I liked the owners and their staff.

This is about as local as a business can get. The couple has been running the place forever and I…read moreenjoy supporting them. I understand some of the other complaints posted here (though I've never encountered the prejudiced behavior some mention), but it's pretty clear as soon as you walk into this place that you're not going to get super corporate attitude/service. It's just a small shop run by honest people who know how to work on some older technologies (as well as current ones). And, by the way, the rates are DIRT cheap!

I get to pay for the full amount forthe service I just canceled. this is the kind of company they are. My cable bill went up $13.00 in one month and this month it jumped another $10. They are deffinetly going out of business. I have to write To my congressman about the charging situation. I don't think it is legal to charge for a service you do not provide.

Worst, most infuriating company. I don't know anyone who would deal with them if they had a choice…read more I still use them for internet. Because of the monopoly, I can't get any other service. But I don't use them for TV and I would certainly never touch them for phone. I swear their customer service is designed to be sadistic. They have an infinite willingness to waste your time. This isn't true of every employee - I've had guys come to my apartment once or twice over the years who have been competent and nice. But I've also had them dick me around like crazy. And the TV service was completely unreliable. There is a cable box on our building that has been overflowing, with birds even sitting in it, for a decade. TWC staff point it out but don't do anything about it. Today I tried to get help with their website from "live chat," with a customer service person who was probably somewhere in Asia. I was there for 30 minutes. I only went there because I wanted to be sure to pay my bill - automatic bill pay seems to have gone wrong last month, and I noticed and contacted them, on my own - they didn't ask me to. I got the run around with canned sentences for about half an hour, and got no answer. Well, if they don't want to get paid, that's OK - I don't want to pay them. It's so irritating: I have a job, I'm at work, and they are getting me to do their job for free. Grr.

My husband and I were eager to jump from Time Warner Cable to Direct TV: "highest rated customer…read moresatisfaction". After we signed up we realized that the price in the checkout box online was not the price we paid. I called customer service and spoke to a woman first. She was really great, offered to fix the problem and agreed that it was outrageous that the discount disappeared. She typed the discount into her computer, said everything was good. And just before she transferred me away, she said "oh, the computer kicked back the discount". Apparently, online -- and in her computer, you can combine these discounts until the "system" decides otherwise. I asked to speak to someone who could fix the problem. She said she'd put me on hold. She set the phone down and I could hear her talking to someone in what I imagine to be the next cubicle about how "this guy's email wasn't allowing him to stack discounts?" Next I spoke to Dwayne, the guy in the next cubicle. Thinking it would be a quick fix, we were told it was an online glitch, and that they couldn't fix it and we were stuck. He told me he understood my frustrations and that he would do the same thing, but there was nothing that could be done. He also reiterated that I would still be receiving a $10 discount instead of a $5 discount, to which I countered "it was listed as a $15 discount". Day one of a two year lease couldn't be off to a worse start.
