Normally I dread getting glasses, but I just left Optical Warehouse where I had a great experience. Tony who runs the shop, was not only helpful but he also wasn't pushy as I tried to pick out glasses. It took me nearly two hours to select my frames because this indeed is an outlet with a HUGE selection of glasses that varies from $20 (clearance) to $300+ (designer) glasses. The clearance section isn't just dusty stuff from the nineties either - there was both D&G and Burberry frames on sale. They offer two great deals: $79 or $99 for non-designer frames, lenses, and an eye exam. When I ended up being stuck between a pair of $250 Christian Dior tortoise shell frames (with exam and lenses) and $99 gradient frames (with exam and lenses), Tony did not try to talk me into buying the designer frames like most stores would. Instead, he told me that both pairs looked good. Having someone genuine help me through the process put me at ease to pick the frames that fit my face the best. Once I settled on frames, the eye exam took about ten minutes. After Tony learned that I was getting glasses to drive across the country, he had me look out the storefront with tester lenses to make sure that I could read the numbers across the street. Unlike other optical stores, there was no additional charge for lenses (not even for astigmatism) and the exam was free with the purchase of frames. In the end, my glasses were cheaper than if I had used one of those fake Groupon deals that some opticians offer. I have come here for the last few years and I support GOOD OLD FASHIONED ONE TO ONE HUMAN BEING / NON ROBOTIC HUMANITY!! And let me tell you these people come through. The young lady JEN helped me with a pair of glasses that somehow had BENT (not OPTICAL WAREHOUSE) issue at all.. i just got the frames from somewhere and got my lenses from these guys... the issue was with the FRAME and somehow they just got "deformed" in 2 years of sitting in a drawer... Jen did her magic and SAVED THE DAY... THE GLASSES ENDED UP going back to "normal" and she literally made a miracle happen. I wanted to say that I will come all the way from Manhattan to give these people my business no matter what!! I support lOCAL, I SUPPORT COMMUNITY.... my NYC is dead!! I needed to renew my New York State Enhanced Driver's License which was set to expire in 9 days on my birthday but in order to process the renewal online I needed to have a current eye exam and to have a mv619 form filled out by an eye examiner. It was hard finding someone to do an eye test during the middle of a statewide shutdown and COVID pandemic. I must have called 15 places on Long Island closer to where I live and they all said they would be closed until after at least June 1st, which didn't help me. I asked for help from friends on Facebook and my friend Sandra Tufino recommended I talk to Tony from Optical Warehouse Outlet. I FB messaged Tony directly on the Optical Warehouse Outlet FB Page and he replied quickly telling me he would perform the eye exam that same day. I drove into Ridgewood and Tony performed the quick eye exam and filled out my mv619 form. With that information I was able to successfully renew my New York State Enhanced Driver's License for another 8 years. Tony made the whole process quick and painless. Tony and the Doctor that they had today were excellent. I arrived early (10:45) as Tony was opening up the store. I explained my problem (had to attend class and could not see the front board; had previous lasik surgery years ago and apparently now not effective). I returned and the doctor explained that she could give me a prescription but that I would not see that much better and I should go back to my lasik surgeon. Tony only charged me for the exam but said if I wanted to return to get glasses that he would deduct the amount from the cost. They were very honest, accommodating and very professional. Honestly I never leave reviews on anything but this store is really worth going to and purchasing some glasses. Tony was so warming and really funny too and did not rush me to buy any glasses even if the store was closing in 10 minutes. He told me his honest opinion about what certain frames fit my face and which ones didn't. The last optician store I went to charged me over $500 for just one pair of designer glasses but in this store you get such an amazing deal! I've never felt happier with my glasses and if I ever need to get them replaced or if a friend needs some glasses I will definitely recommend this optical warehouse to them. Horrible. Do not trust them. There are some nefarious and unlawful practices going on at this store. It's not worth sacrificing your eye health over. The schmuck who runs this place is truly incompetent. Don't just take my word for it. So many negative experiences on here and on Google are similar to mine. Do not come here if you value your time, money, and sanity. They're not COVID-19 compliant either. My glasses have needed new lenses that I'd been delaying for far too long. After the hinge on my pair broke, I took it as an opportunity to get a completely new set. There were a few places that were much closer, but I had decided to go here because of the high reviews. The rating seems very well deserved. Service was fast and friendly. Managed to get my eye exam within minutes and the price was lower than what I had expected to pay. I was even offered free contacts to last me until my order was completed since they had seen my broken pair and how outdated they were. I'd highly recommend this place. I've had very bad vision all of my life. I could never get a pair of glasses that I did not need to bring back for a lens prescription adjustment until I went to Optical Warehouse. I love my glasses. I'm glad that I read the Yelp reviews and gave them a chance. Tony is great. When I arrived for the first time, he had a customer and I watched how he truly wanted to make them happy. And he did. I have leaved in Ridgewood for 25 years but noticed it for the first time on my way back from another optician while looking to computer glasses. OWO turned out to be more competitive, Tony was strait-forward, honest, no pressure on buyer, no cunning tricks. Overall nice and pleasant service, large selection in "inexpensive" category of frames. My wife came with me for an appointment with optician (available twice a week) to approve my choice of frames and ended up with getting a pair of prescription sunglasses for herself. This place is awesome! My insurance is horrible where I have to wait 2.5 years for an eye exam and a new pair of glasses. I went to an eye doctor about ten blocks away and was referred to a bunch of places to get my eyeglasses. While walking to one of the places I was referred to I noticed they were closed so I just kept on walking and run into this place! I was so grateful! This guy was so nice and didn't not try to oversell me or take advantage and try to charge me out the wazoo! I broke my Prada frames and needed new frames for my lenses fast. I told the owner how dry my eyes got since I had been wearing contacts all the time without having glasses. Not only did he find new Prada frames to fit my lenses perfectly, he got them ready on the spot and the frames were on sale for $80 due to the new styles Prada just came out with . (My old Prada frames I did not get here and paid $500). He even gave me some trial Daily Contacts to try out since my contacts had been drying my eyes.
