Decent selection of designer frames in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. They offer 50% off…read moretheir frames, which can only be applied if you don't utilize your vision benefits or uninsured, which can bring the price down for sure. The issue comes with pricing with insurance. The sales lady (who was friendly and very helpful) said she could compare the price for $549 pair of Monclear frames with the stores discount vs my insurance. Proceeded to do the math in front of me and stated with insurance it would ~$630 vs with store discount and not using instance would be ~$600. You would think awesome savings? Wrong. She either accidentally quoted my benefits wrong or did it on purpose. Stated I had 20% off lenses when my insurance eye med covers it entirely with $15 copay, states anti reflective coating would be $99, when per my insurance should only pay $45 and stated I have $175 off frames when in reality I have $175 off and 20% off price above. When I did the math myself would be  $359.20. When she told me the insured priced it gave me a bit pause because I thought wow my insurance barely covers anything, did my benefits change drastically this year?! So I left to price shop and review my benefits. I would love to give them the benefit of the doubt but this is perfect scheme to entice a customer to use their coupon instead of insurance so they can maximize profits without having to deal with insurance reimbursement. Funnily enough if they actually quoted me the real insurance savings I would have purchased immediately. Now I certainly will not be back.

I left a review letting other patients know about my experience and within minutes, I had a very long reply from the office repeatedly accusing me of cursing at their staff. I called to ask them why that was their response and was met with resistance and arguments from the office manager, Stan F. I'm sure he will reply negatively to this review as well, as accepting accountability and feedback is a skill he is still developing. Don't expect the same experience here as you received at Glasses on First.

I guess I underestimated Ms. Ana Amarante,at the Upper East Side location, who quickly realized that the problem was fixable. A screw needed to be replaced and with her usual expertise, she not only took care of the screw but also did other things to enhance the glasses. From the time I walked in, she was warm and welcoming, and she stayed like that throughout the visit. Incredibly, there was no charge! I am ever so grateful and I shout her praises! I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. Donna Blanc, New York City

I cannot stress enough how awful my experience with Leonard Opticians was. I have a very high…read moreprescription, and I was completely upfront about that from the beginning. In fact, a few years ago they successfully made glasses for me with a similar prescription, and I was very satisfied at the time. Unfortunately, it seems the competent staff have since left, and the level of service has completely deteriorated. I was initially told my glasses would take about two weeks. Instead, months went by with little to no communication unless I repeatedly called for updates myself -- despite spending over $1,500. When the glasses finally arrived, they looked terrible and clearly were not made correctly. After multiple frustrating phone calls, I eventually learned they had used different frames than the ones I originally selected, which caused the lenses to fit improperly. What made the situation even worse was how rude and dismissive the staff were throughout the process. Rather than taking responsibility or trying to resolve the issue professionally, I was treated as though I was being unreasonable for expecting glasses that actually matched what I ordered. There was constant turnover, poor communication, no follow-through, and a complete lack of accountability. This was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've ever had, especially for something so expensive and medically important. I would strongly caution anyone with a high prescription or complex order before trusting Leonard Opticians.

Warby Parker Lexington Ave - My daughter tried progressive and said never again. 07/17/25

Fine service, helpful staff, nice eyeglass frame selection…read more I've been doing business with a few Warby Parker locations over the years, and this NEW location is convenient for me. This NEW LOCATION IS ON THE Northeast CORNER OF THIRD AVENUE AND EAST 69th STREET. I can say that every Warby Parker location I have ever walked into has consistently had staff people wanting to help me, providing polite, professional service. I paid $25 extra so that I could EXPEDITE delivery of my new (progressive) Rx eyeglasses to the store location, so that I could pick up my two new pairs of eyeglasses at the store location rather than have them delivered to me. I did this because I lost my prescription eyeglasses and you do save a little bit if you order two pairs at the same time. For any reader who may not know what I mean, when I say progressive prescription, it means I can see distance and I can read using the same pair of eyeglasses because there are two prescriptions in the lens. And over the years, a lot of improvement has taken place with progressive lenses, so if you tried them years ago and have not tried them lately give them another look because they are much easier to use than years ago. I can recall with my first pair of progressive prescriptions the people telling me to be very careful when you step off the curb, be very careful when you get onto an escalator ...that was many years ago, but today it's fine. And last but not least, this new location is near the Target store on third Avenue and 70th , and it's also near the cookie store called crumble (CRUMBL) so I tried one Crumbl cookie for the first time and OMG the chocolate chip cookie was delicious, at about $5, for one large cookie. So, to sum up if you want to save money, $$$, consider ordering two pairs of your prescription eyeglasses at the same time you place your order. You will save a bit, and you will have a spare in case you lose a pair, or if you want to keep one pair in your bag at all times, and one at home at all times which would make it more convenient for you, consider the double order. And remember, you can use your flexible spending money to pay for your eyeglasses. So, remember to keep that in mind when you figure out how much money you want to put into your flexible spending account each year.

My friend told them and we were told to go to the back where they fix them. The guy was very nice who helped my friend and they gave her a free cloth to help keep her sunglasses lenses clean. The inside of this store is pretty neat too as you can see from the pictures. There are two floors too. It is a bit on the smaller side compared to other glasses stores in the city. But all in all a good experience here.
