So this place is really hit or miss. Sometimes the staff is great, other times they have me wanting to not do business with them. For instance, I just called to check on the order status for my daughter's glasses, the lady who answered sounded like she was already in a bad mood and put me on hold for 10 minutes before I just hung up- I told her all I wanted to do was check the order status, 10 minute+ hold? She wasn't coming back on the line obviously. I called back and a different lady answered, she looked it up right away and that was it, all I needed. Talk about shitty service Parents went in to get new glasses on the 10/7/2018 said oh there be ready in 7 days.... damn lies it is now the 25 of Oct still no glass. we have to call 5 times to see were the glasses are 1 call of they have not come back from the lab ...lie.... 2 call oh they arrived broke... really and they could not give us a f%%% call what nasty service. I had to call and this time the manager calls me back and states oh i but a rush on them... such a bunch of F&&& lies. July 15 2020; Today I am giving you an update to my previous visit. Once again my glasses were done incorrectly. So what do they do?! Instead of offering me a new eye exam and start from zero, they decide to use my 2 year old prescription that I got at Walmart a little over two years ago. After they had readjusted my prescription. So now I wait another two weeks to get my glasses. This company is inconsiderate to their patients. No apology, no explanation to what happened not once but twice. I would never recommend Optical Outlets to anybody I know. I am ready to have my glasses in my hand so I don't ever have to go back to that place. read more

After having cataract surgery on both eyes by my ophthalmologist in May and then receiving an eyeglass prescription from my optometrist in June, I went in to this Optical Outlets location yesterday ( June 26) to order my special glasses. I was assisted for over an hour by a wonderful young lady named Ashley and I couldn't be happier! Ashley worked diligently to get me the best prices on two pairs of bifocal glasses and even helped me select 2 frames that looked best on me. There was a lot of info to absorb, but Ashley took all the time I needed to help me understand. She was very knowledgeable, outgoing, diligent and truly brightened my day. I hope that Optical Outlets appreciate what a fantastic employee that they have. Indeed, everyone at the East Colonial Drive location was cheerful and nice! terrible place ordered two pairs of glasses here, paid over 400$ they said my glasses would be there for pickup in 7-10 days, i waited 3 weeks. i was then called to pick them up and they couldn't find them when i arrived. they told me to come back the next day. went the next day and waited about 45 minutes for them to find them again bc they still couldn't find them. turns out both of my glasses are transitions so they turn dark in the sun and after finding out that i paid extra to have them like that even though i never asked for it, they say if i want the transition/tint taken off i won't get any money back and i might have to pay to get it taken off! absolutely ridiculous. don't go here. read more

The worst service ever! Seriously, management needs to stand at the front of this location and look at the processes! Horrible, you have about 19 stations with only about 8 workers and they all look like they dont have a clue what to do next. I seriously think some of the workers "pretend" to be busy so they won't get someone assigned to their chair! It's not worth it. Worst experience I've had in a while. Their "insurance verifiers" didn't know what they were doing and made me waste my appointment time doing what they couldn't. When I spoke with the manager, Brian, he was unhelpful and rude. I tried explaining to him what was going on but he just kept telling me I couldn't be seen unless I was paying out of pocket. He didn't apologize a single time during the entire ordeal; not even after he was proven wrong by my insurance company. I never even got the chance to see the actual doctor. I wish I can put 0 star. This is absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced. I tried to be patient and give them a chance but honestly, they should be shut down by how unprofessional they are. You can NOT get in contact with them whatsoever unless in store. That is very inconvenient. I have an appointment, but didn't see the doctor until 37 minutes after. It's very chaotic, no organization inside. When I was finally seen and finished with my exam, which lasted 10 minutes, I was never given my prescription. I called and called so many times and other locations as well just trying to see if they would be able to just give me my prescription over the phone so I can order my glasses online but since the doctor NEVER SIGNED OFF on my prescription they couldn't release my prescription. I complained about not being able to contact the office for weeks and it took another 3 weeks from my exam for me to receive my prescription from another office since they weren't able to get in contact with them either!!! I was told my insurance will cover for 6 months for my contacts and they said I can order online through their website. The staff knew ordering online wouldn't be covered through insurance. I had to wait another month and a half just to receive my contacts which I requested to have it mailed to my home, they noticed that on my prescription it was to be mailed to my home and they called saying it was ready for pickup when I requested to have it mailed here since I don't have availability to transportation! the employees are nice but incompetent. at my initial eye exam, i was repeatedly poked in the eye by the technician working the machine. i told her she was poking my eye, she apologized, did the test again with supervision from another technician and was continuing to poke my eye as the technician watched. i had to ask for someone else to do my exam. i was talked into trying another brand after talking with the doctor about my extreme dry eye issues in relation to my contacts. this new brand burned my eyes and was unwearable. i called the store a few times, they did not answer their phone or call back if you left a voicemail. when is put myself in call back lines to speak to a receptionist, again, no call back. so i came in in person and asked to go back to my initial contacts. the doctor said they'd have to order trials again since my prescription changed. made sense. i waited a week or so and called to see how my order was doing. they had no history of any order being placed. i got ahold of some kind of higher up on the phone, sometimes when you call it redirects you to some kind of office or something instead of the actual store you're calling. this manager emailed the store location and has them order my trials. i go to pick up these trials, use them for a couple weeks, and that's when i began calling again to get my script ordered. no answer to my calls. no call backs to voicemails or queuing myself in line. i've been bounced around so much between the office and different store locations. yesterday i got ahold of somebody at another optical outlet location who tried ordering my script but said i have so much information in my file, that she can't decipher what my current script is and would have to email my store location. she did and i actually received a cal back today but i was working and unable to answer. in the voicemail they left me, they quoted me without my insurance. at this point, i'll have to go in person once again and sort this out. it is insane how horrible the customer service is here. and every location is like this. i believe the employees are overloaded and disorganized, probably very poorly managed. read more

I went there for my son and I exam I really didn't need I have classes and I'm ok with that but since I was going for my son I decided to get a eye exam it was ok eye doctor talked to much but ok lol the part I was unhappy about was the fact that I asked for a consultation for contacts hella times and then I was told the price of my contacts and was told that if I didn't buy them by the end of the day I wouldnt be able to purchase them at all and I wouldn't be able to come back for another eye exam for a year because of my insurance so it kind of made me spend money I didn't have them my son glasses came and my contacts but I had to call them I never received the text I was supposed to read more

Optical Outlets has been my eye doctor for at least 5 years. Miriam Guzman is extremely helpful. She goes above and beyond to help the customers. Dr. D. Rangel is always polite and professional. Liars, cheats and thieves. Took my co-pay money then gave me defective glasses. When I refused to accept the glasses, they wouldn't refund my money. I had to file a grievance with my insurance company. My insurance investigated and found Optical Outlets charged them for glasses I never received. My insurance agreed Optical Outlets had lied and I got my benefit reinstated, but I'm still fighting these thieves for the money they owe me. This is my second review and honestly I don't recommend this place to anyone. They messed up my contacts prescription and I have been calling and asking for a callback since Monday about it and still no answer. so I went there in person yesterday and when I got there I asked for the manager who was very rude and condescending when I explained that they gave me contacts that may have expired. He basically belittled me and he did this in front of other people which is violation of my HIIPA rights by the way. Then told me to try on my last paper and if I still have issues then I need to pay for another exam. I have finals this whip and can't see he basically was like tough luck didn't even check the expiration date prior either. I don't recommend them to anyone if you really care about your vision and don't want people playing with it. I also feel like they mistreat people that have Medicaid. This place is a Medicaid mill. They run patients in and out like an assembly line. Somehow I ended up with two pairs of glasses, neither of which the man could properly fit because he was helping two people at once, while being receptionist and answering phone calls. He did not give the person before me his receipt nor was I given mine. I called today to have my receipt and prescription mailed to me, but was told they didn't do that and I was put on hold for 15 minutes then an automated service took over and eventually hung up on me. Stay away from this place. I am contacting consumer reporters and the Department of Human Services to have someone investigate Optical Outlets. read more
