If I could give this place 0 stars I would, and if my friend had a Yelp account I'm sure she would…read moretoo. I went in around the end of August and this was my first time getting an eye exam done in 2 years and since my current pair of glasses were beginning to fall apart I figured I would get a check up to renew my prescription and buy a new pair of glasses. Since I am a student at UH, I got my exam done for around ~$30 dollars or so, can't remember exact. My experience was terrible honestly. No one warned me or asked me about dilating my eyes, the diabetes and cataracts testing that would be done, or that a 10 minute eye exam was going to take OVER 3 HOURS. I also can't believe that they would do any of this considering I had to drive myself home afterwards. Although it doesn't surprise me, because I should add, there's definitely a sense of entitlement and elitism among the staff here. As soon as you walk in to the exam area, all the kids wearing their little coats are extremely stuck up, so it's no surprise that they think they can do whatever they please with the patients, while being completely careless and rude. So after over 3 hours of endless exams, and drops in my eyes, who would've guessed that my new prescription was going to be wrong? Yup you read that right, after all that, they the one thing I went in there for, my prescription that didn't even change over 2 years they got wrong. I didn't order my new glasses until the end of this past November through GlassesUSA, and received them the second week of December. After trying them on for a couple days, I immediately called the eye institute and was rudely told(of course), that NOTHING could be done because I was past my 3 month mark. Seriously? Because I was TWO WEEKS, past my 3 month mark, I wasn't allowed a refund, or a reexamination. At the time of my exam, I was actually very optimistic and excited, that I even recommended my friend to get hers done as well. Guess what? They got hers wrong too. At one point I thought I could recommend this place, but at this point, I recommend you steer far away from it. Save your money, save your time. I had to waste my money here, and then get another exam done elsewhere, for a total cost of $100, on just eye exams alone. Thank you for not only getting my prescription wrong, wasting my entire day, but also being of absolutely no help at all. Worst customer service and experience I've ever had.

My insurance fenced off a lot of places that carried nice frames like Pearle Vision and Lense Crafters. Eye Trends was one that was accepted and they carried brand names ranging from Ray-ban, A&X, Burberry, Gucci, Oakleys, etc. Even better is if they don't carry the frame you want then you can request them to order it in for you so your insurance can pay for them. No more Walmart type frames for you. The only drawback is that there will be no refund if you opt for that choice. I searched Yelp (of course) to find an eye doctor to visit today and with good reviews. I came across Dr. Nguyen's practice and as the previous reviews stated, he did not disappoint. On my initial call, Alexis, medical assistant, was able to set same day appointment and verify my vision benefits. She was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. Upon arrival, I completed the check in process and began my exam. In walks Dr.Nguyen....great bedside manner and very knowledgeable. He talked me through the entire exam and took his time with explaining what he saw and how to treat\prevent this irritation from happening in the future. He even spotted a stye forming and provided a treatment plan to prevent! The visit took all of 30 mins, including a walk to the eye relief section, where he selected eye care products. He also gave me coupons for the products suggested. Stop in for your next eye check up. He's located in Walmart, however he's not apart of the Walmart "Vision Center".

After weeks of searching for flattering frames and tearing through six popular retailers, I finally found Memorial Vision. Usually, I'm lucky to have two or three semi-decent choices, so stumbling upon their giant selection of low-bridge-friendly specs was like discovering a hidden treasure trove. Their friendly staff made it easy to find and narrow down my choices, which was not easy since there were at least 10 I was considering. The two ladies who helped me were very sincere and had great suggestions. The level of attention was just right - not overbearing, no car salesman vibes. It felt like I was shopping with friends. While looking around, they even offered to clean my current glasses. Big props to Memorial Vision for having such a stylish and inclusive collection of specs!

I expected a more respectful character from a doctor, whether it was a rejection, explanation, or whatnot. I am truly disgusted and I would advise people to steer clear of this practice, as it appears to lack any and all professionalism and humanity.
