I wanted recieve more funds...which I have…read morehad this current loan for almost 3 years (on workers comp for a year), never had a late payment...I applied online and was notified I was approved, then received a text this morning stating I was approved. So I called them this morning and got a complete run-a-round today..just to get a call at 5:15 pm stating they could not approve my loan. So all day I was told I was approved then after 5 pm called and told they could not approve me due to I was on workers comp for a year (yet my payments were always on time).

Since it changed from Monterey County Employees Credit Union, they've opened a few more locations, but other than that, not much has changed in terms of great service and "smallness". This is not a big bank, you aren't going to get all the conveniences of 24-hour bank. What you will get is staff that knows and remembers you and great rates. Over the past 21 years, we have taken out various car loans and personal loans and have always received the best interest rates. The loan process has always been smooth even though we are out of town. I've never needed to go into the bank all these years; I've always taken care of things online or over the phone with staff who are always great. Most staff have stayed for years, it's not often I get someone on the phone I don't know. I'm surprised at some of the poor reviews - I've never experienced any of those things. But, again, if you're expecting impersonal big bank services, you should go there instead.

I live 20 miles away from the branch and I have asked the employees AND the answering service for a closer cash deposit location (numerous times); their response...there is not one. So, after I wrote a check, I drove to town to deposit some cash only to find that THE ATM MACHINE IS OUT OF ORDER...my check was returned and they would not remove a $30 dollar fee. I don't know who is making the decisions there but it seems to me that they do not understand how to keep a customer happy. I will be destroying all personal checks I have and I will not be utilizing any of their offers. DO NOT BANK HERE. Thank god I found this out before I applied for a refinancing of my home! In short, I will be settling my accounts there. Additionally, as I mentioned before, I was told numerous times that there was no other location to make deposits...upon receiving this returned fee I asked to be reversed, I was informed that there actually is a place to make cash deposits! Are you kidding me!! Are you guys running a scam or what!? So the fee will not be reversed. Also, the ATM is still not working! Take it from me, if you own property, have time consuming responsibilities, travel internationally, or just plain don't have time to waste...FIND A BIGGER BANK THAT HAS A LARGER NETWORK...at the very least, you'll save valuable time while they find irritating ways to take your pennies. Things aren't the same here anymore.

Tellers are at "open" desks instead of the old style, where you can put down loads of cash and no one would know better. Now you're just letting everybody in line know your business, I let the teller know it felt too exposed. Asked who the manager was and politely let him know my thoughts. He didn't even acknowledge the concern/feedback, his answer was "this is just the way we do business now". Likely not going to have my business or my kids any longer with that attitude.
