I've been coming for almost a year and Jodi is by far the best. We've been seeing some new trainers…read more(Luis) that are really strong but agree the music could be louder and changed up more. They're really doing their best to keep things safe and clean which is great. I give the team there a lot of credit for all the changes they've made so quickly. Since covid-19 you get a text and walk straight to your spot (you don't get to choose anymore ), the classes are smaller and there is never anyone on the machines around me.

I have been…read morea member since 2021 at the Northlake location, and unfortunately, the experience has shifted so much that I quite often feel uncomfortable and unwelcome here. I rarely visit this location anymore because the atmosphere has become so cold. Initially, there were coaches here that I truly enjoyed--they were friendly, engaging. Now, the experience is different. Many coaches don't speak or offer corrections; they are cold and their classes feel equally cold and sometimes awkward . In fact, there is now only one coach at this location that I will attend a class for, as my experiences with the others have been consistently not great. I have joked that I go to the Orangetheory when I want to not be called out or invisible during a workout. The front desk experience is just as disappointing. I walk in and am not acknowledged or greeted; the staff doesn't even look up from their computers, and the same thing happens when I walk out. As a long-term member, I have never been celebrated for a single milestone. I specifically asked for a photo of my last milestone to be sent to me so I could post it, and I never received it. With how much I pay for this membership and the loyalty I've shown since 2021, this is beyond disappointing. I'm not sure how much longer I want to be a member of Orangetheory, and specifically this location.

Love this place! I…read morewas introduced to Burn through a Yelp event (another location) and I was impressed by the quality of instructors and their floating floor which made exercising easy on the joints!! A few months later, I came across an ad for Burn Druid Hills (if you haven't guessed, they are a franchise gym) with a special promo for a month. Given my great experience in the past, I jumped on this offer, completed a free trial class and then immediately signed up for the promo month. The rest is history and I've been part of the Burn community ever since, over 100 camps under my belt . They have great staff plus knowledgeable and personable instructors and the location is clean. Even though this is a group setting (camp/class), instructors pay attention to each individual and push them to do better! Classes are a combination of weight and functional HIIT training. Every week is different so there is never any monotony, and the camps are high energy and fun! You work out together as a group and build friendships and community! In addition to the workouts, they offer focus meetings where each member can meet with an instructor to talk through and define goals, understand their body composition and measurements and work towards getting better! And guess what - they have free childwatch while you work out. It's really a no-brainer. 45 mins to focus on yourself and no worry about kids, distractions etc. Plenty of free parking, complimentary towels, shower room, and the best community!!

I did my 7-day free trial and then kept showing up for more. My friend introduced me to Burn and…read moreafter one of my first classes I asked if the classes ever get easier. She said no, because you get stronger and you push yourself more. It'll be almost 2 years I believe of joining, and I'm so glad I did! Reservations: Burn has an app where you can sign for classes ahead of time. It helps the trainers know how many people to expect at each camp. But no worries if you don't sign up in advance or via the app. You can just sign in on the kiosk when you walk in. If you aren't a member yet, you can sign up for the free trial to see how you like it. Parking: The gym is located in a shopping center so there is ample free parking. Workouts: Each camp focuses on a certain target area (ie. arms, legs, cardio, strength, etc.). What type of workout it will be is posted on the app and their IG page for the whole week at the beginning of each week, since they do change. Some people choose to go to the same time camp each time, but you can also choose to go to a different time each day - whatever works for you! The workouts are 45 minutes long, with the trainer encouraging you and providing guidance throughout the session. Sessions always start with a warm up, then move to the core workout, proceed to the finisher, and wrap up with some stretching and announcements. Vibe: I personally enjoy the camaraderie and accountability that comes with being part of this gym. Everyone wants to see each other win. People of all ages, sizes, abilities, etc. train together and there are always modifications for every fitness level. I find myself missing the gym when I travel. Haha I never thought I'd say that.

There was a 6-mo and a 12-mo (trying to remember if there was a shorter one but I can't). The gist was if you wanted out you would pay a majority of the remainder of the contract...which I get from a business standpoint, but since there are so many options in East Cobb which allowed you out with no penalty (just a notice) I decided this route wasn't for me. Quite literally my only reason tho.

Prior to this, I went to a 'regular' gym with machines and weights. BBC is a combination of strength and high intensity interval training. However, they do not use machines. There are plenty of equipment (weights, ropes, bands, medicine balls, etc) to help target every muscle group. There are currently 9 different camp times offered during the week and three morning classes on Saturdays. They are closed on Sundays. Each camp is 45 minutes long and challenging. You could even say intense... but in a good way! Of all my on-again off-again years of working out, I've never sweat or have been challenged like I do during a camp at BBC. It feels amazing! Burn Boot Camp Cumming is more than a gym, it's a community. I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true. Their team is super helpful and friendly, and they go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The trainers are very knowledgeable and will give you the right push to reach your potential. They often use the phrase, "let it burn." And boy does it burn so good. They will also make modifications if you have an injury but still want to participate. Focus meetings are included in the packages. I wish I had taken advantage of this sooner. The trainers will give you a nutritional plan that's doable to help you achieve your goals. I've only started to see REAL results after going to focus meetings. As a member, you get free childcare and access to the private Facebook community group. Right now, virtual workouts are offered and shared on the Facebook group. BBC likes to spice things up every now and then by adding challenges throughout the year. Commit2Fit is a popular one. It's actually what got me to sign up. It's 4 weeks of unlimited camps for $99. I tried it in September 2019 and have been hooked ever since. I'm thankful for Burn Boot Camp Cumming today and everyday!

Also, their smoothie shop can customize drinks to your liking. Now, onto the bad, the lack of cleanliness is crazy. There are chewed gums on the lip of the cup holders on the exercise machines. Like, I understand if people were being discreet and snuck their gum somewhere, but dang, it was right in the open! I can't even blame staff for not removing the gum because there are just far too many to keep up with. Gum is not like normal food scraps that can easily be picked up... They harden and really stick to the surface. Members, do better!

(Update: 10.12.25)…read more This review is discourage those who are considering joining to stay away! This gym is glum in every sense of the word. In addition to all of the other off-putting things about this gym, the straw that finally broke the camels back was their bleak hours and rude staff. The Hours: Initially disguised as day light savings time these changes became permanent hours. Who closes their gym at 6pm on the weekends and 9pm on Fridays? The gym is usually packed at these times as of lately. People have varying work hours. A fellow member said that corporate says the hours are based on the number of sales/memberships they get within a day, so apparently sales are low - and for good reason - why would anyone want to work out here. The Staff: Not only that, at closing time the staff act as though they are working in a prison and are talking to a bunch of inmates with a nasty demanding tone reminding everyone of closure at each 15 minute mark for the last hour, and then at ever 5-minute mark for the last 15 minutes in a VERY unpleasant tone, as if they're a bunch of idiots. How annoying and rude to belittle your clientele in this way. I've had enough. The locker rooms are outdated and filthy. I'm an educated corporate person and working out here feels like a mix between high school, a prison yard and a refugee camp. The basketball court brings yet a whole other unwelcoming street element. Not my idea of a welcoming motivational place to workout and crush fitness goals with like minded people. After careful research, there are plenty of better gyms nearby that stay open later without all the riff raff. I can see LAF going out of business soon. This is a common thought among members. Don't just take my word, read the rest of the reviews.
