Considering lots of busy routes go by here daily, it's a little shocking how there's a lack of amenities such as washrooms or snack stalls. Well, they're building a washroom at the north end at the time I wrote this...but still a lack of a snack stall. The waiting area is terrible as well with a lack of a full sized "indoor area"...which is easily exposed by two automatic doors, and since it's located in a wide open space you're not very protected by most weather extremities. This terminal has gone under construction three times since it opened in 2005 and it's still cold as hell during winter...great use of our tax dollars eh? At least they installed a screen in one of the indoor waiting areas showing when the next YRT/Viva buses come in all the different platforms...

Okay, out-of-town visitors, this may be the most affordable option for transportation between the…read moreairport and downtown Toronto, if you PLAN AHEAD. Many of the guide-books (on-line and in print) will say that the most efficient method of getting into Toronto is by Taxi or Limo. Well, that is true. Yet, the least costly method will be to use Pacific Western's Airport Express. You can either pre-arrange your ride on-line or if you are at the airport: Terminal 1- AE Customer Service is located on the Arrivals Level Curbside Post C. Bus departs from Posts B and E. Terminal 3 - AE Customer Service is located on the Arrivals Level Curbside at Area # 25 The cost for 1 way ticket is $CAD 19.95 and round-trip is $CAD 32.95. This is compared to a cab/limo ride which can range from $CAD 45-55 ONE WAY! The downside to this service: 1) there are multiple stops, 2) these stops may or may not be close to your lodging so it may take some pre-planning or use of other public transport between lodging and the pick up/drop off location. and 3) you must really allow quite a bit of time to allow for downtown traffic and any traffic accidents, which may delay pick up and drop off times. This weekend, it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to get from my pick up point to the airport. I had allotted only 2 hours and 15 minutes for travel, which was tight because of a traffic accident which had thrown all of the airport express buses off schedule. It almost caused me to miss my flight, as a result (flight from Toronto to USA) b/c I had to go through check-in of luggage and customs. Just to be safe, I would recommend allocating at least 3.5 to 4 hours for travel time to the airport to factor in potential bus issues.

The video displays over the actual gate also do not update to present any information whatsoever. The PA system is used to announce Go bus arrivals exclusively. Instead, you pay women to stroll up and down the waiting/boarding area and scream about what bus is actually at what gate.   Why is the glass fogged out looking from the waiting/boarding area into the bus bays? It makes seeing what bus is actually there very difficult, and no one can waive goodbye. Is it because of privacy, security? What lame answer would you give I imagine.

With such a high price point, we were expecting top notch services but we received two of the worst buses we had ever been dispatched (the vehicles were over 10 years old, poorly maintained, very noisy, video systems were down, AC problems met over the entire duration of these trips - causing heavy complaints from final passengers) The assistance provided by SkyWay Coach Lines was lacking entirely, the groups were basically left on their own while on the road. The bus late picking us up due to traffic but Shahz made it up to us with plenty of time at the Falls - 3.5 hours to account for how busy it was. The maple syrup stop was great, and though we only opted for the boat ride and not the lunch, there were plenty of spots to eat on our own. One thing to note - if you plan to do Journey to the Falls but that ticket as soon as you arrive - it was over two hours of waiting when we tried to which wasn't possible given our time window. This train station along with a couple of bus terminals have a futuristic oval shape. The interior is lined with mirrors and skylights, making it both bright and beautiful. The station is very clean and still has that new construction smell. There are 2 parking lots, managed by Smart Centres. The larger parking lot is located next to the station. The smaller parking lot is located where the old Best Buy and Home Outfitters used to be.
