This review is for the new Union Go Bus Terminal Hub. Bring back the old station!!! The new station is large and modern, capable of accommodating more people, but those are the only benefits. Aside from being a confusing maze with buses now on 2 levels, it has automatic doors in front of each bus that open only when the bus is there. At least, thats what its supposed to do. I usually take the Go train, but due to covid, the train has stopped its service and has now become a bus. I've taken this new bus route a few times already. Today, I arrived to the bus 2 minutes early and the automatic door was CLOSED. I was jumping up and down, trying to make eye contact with the bus driver on the other side. 1 person the bus stared right at me, as well as one employee on my side. No one said anything to the bus driver or me. 2 minutes went by and the bus drove away without me. this would not have happened at the old station, where there is no door between the bus and the passenger. Now I have to waste an extra hour of my life for the next bus. I plan to use this hour to warn others about this station and make my complaints. I regret not yelling and banging on the door like most other Torontonians. read more

So if you want to catch a Go Bus to almost everywhere in the GTA area or beyond from Union Station, this is the terminal to be. The waiting area is great especially during winter as it is warm and sheltered from the cold and CP24 always on for up to date local news. Either use your Presto pass or get the fare from the ticket counter. Just want the screen and when your bus is here, it will show you which platforms to board. Chairs are a little uncomfortable as they are metal. read more

While the bus station itself leaves much to be desired, the employees are great! They take the time to help passenger, are extremely helpful, considerate & polite. There was even 4 employees ready to help us load up onto the bus; one took my suitcase, another helped me onto the bus. read more

GO buses are underrated. So depends on where you live, GO buses can save you time and the hassle of switching between bus / subway / streetcar. Plus the buses are way cleaner. Regarding the bus station itself its pretty clean. There is a nice monitor showing when your next bus is arriving. You can top up your presto card here. Overall a nice alternative to TTC, check their routes and see if they work for you. Don't forget to tap off!! read more

Being a seasoned commuter now, I use this station quite often. I try my hardest to avoid rush hour times because I've seen lines for platform 46 go all the way past platform 44 and you know that you're not getting a seat on the bus when that happens. If your bus happens to leave on platform 45 or higher, best walk down Yonge as opposed to Bay where it's busier. There are numerous screens with bus times and platforms and GO is generally very good at being punctual unless there is a long line up, but there are large variances when it comes to when the bus actually pulls up to the terminal and people start boarding, I've seen some drivers leave it till 2 minutes before departure time to start letting people in. There are 4 automated tickets machines (2 inside and 2 out) to go with the manned ticket counter and you can purchase your ticket using cash via the driver as well. The station needs to drastically improve line management because you have 2 maybe even 3 lines at one platform when the going gets tough and a new rider is sure to get lost navigating these lines, the safest bet is asking more than one person in line what bus they are waiting for. read more

They say magic often happens at the most unexpected places, would it be here? Or as they do in korean dramas, at the airport lol. Anyhow, I visit this place so often I can almost walk through the whole thing blindfolded. The area is easy to navigate (it's one simple line lol), and there are many service reps that will provide assistance. Bus service is frequent and you can look at the schedules through brochures, pamphlets, online, or at the service kiosk. Go Buses are cleaner and safer than the TTC. Unfortunately, the price is much steeper than your average token cost but there's a different expectation for service. I'm gonna say it now, buy yourself a PRESTO card! That card resembles the Octopus card that you would purchase in Hong Kong. You tap "on" and "off", so right when you board and before you exit the bus. That's just a key thing to remember. For Go Trains, you can do the same or just tap "on" if you frequent the same lines daily (must configure this setting at a kiosk or online yourself). I've had a great experience with the buses, though the trains do have delays...but that's a topic for another day. read more

A surprisingly quick-moving lineup to buy tickets and a somewhat confusing path to find the right platform if you're a newb. Luckily, I can always rely on the kindness of strangers, a nice lady walked me through the throng of people and pointed me to the right way to go. The GO station serves its purpose. It's not glamorous or clean but it gets the job done. Line up at your boarding platform 20 minutes before your bus departs to secure your seat of choice. Be watchful of pigeons, gum on the ground, and people in a rush. Pro tip: there's a convenience store in the GO station center and public washrooms. Pro tip 2: Avoid these washrooms like the plague. Besides the Lakeshore lines, GO Buses are really your only options after rush hour. Terminals are clean here, washrooms are cleaner here than the actual Union station and while the lines may look long - they are very quick to board. Word of advice: before lining up, ask a few people in line what they are lining up for, you may be in the wrong line because some lines extend quite long read more

Union GO is a fast, efficient and cost-effective way to get to cities in the greater GTA and beyond. I use it weekly between Toronto and Hamilton and the buses are always on-time. I much prefer taking the bus where possible as you get to relax or do some work, and the drivers know all the shortcuts to take when the traffic is bad. Tip: If you travel often, get a Presto card to avoid having to carry cash or get a ticket before you board. Simply tap on and off. You also benefit from cheaper fares the more you travel. read more

Well If you miss the peak hour trains on Milton line this is where you end up. This is the main central location for many Go buses and is quite busy during the rush hours. The outer terminal and inside seating areas are kept quite clean and all the stops have digital display to tell you where is bus will be stopping. You will have to cross the road to get to the train tracks. read more

Does anyone take the Hamilton-Toronto express GO bus (Route 16) everyday? I plan to take the 6:05am bus in the morning and the returning 3:10pm bus in the afternoon (Monday to Friday). How reliable is it? Is it late very often? How is the bus in the winter time? How long are typical delays? I am looking for an alternate to the train .. way too unreliable. read more

The bus stop is well run no matter how the weather is. My advice would be to be at your stop ahead of time and go well in advance if you do not use presto as the lines for tickets can get long. The buses are comfortable amd its bettee to sit closer to the front so that you avoid sitting with sketchy looking characters at the back. If the option to purchase your ticket from the machine arises then use it so you avoid standing in a long line. read more

Great help today! Lost my wallet and only short 2.00 for the Go train. Had great customer service, from finding out where I need to be, as well as where I should be going. Took the bus from Union station to Sweet river blvd. I will be back! Air conditioned and the bus was fast! read more
