Open Sky is one of those places you'll just never forget. It's located about 20 minutes to the main entrance to Zion. The road to get here is well maintained but not paved. It's an easy drive but yes a tiny bit bumpy. That only adds to the actual location. We actually really liked its remote nature. It's not in the hustle and bustle of town. Everyone at check in was so so kind. We loved our stay. We stayed in stargazer two and the mesh stargazing area is incredible. We laid out on it at night and could not get over what a cool experience that alone was. Decor is top notch. The privacy of each unit was actually incredibly comfortable. The ac is fantastic. Getting to stargazer 2 was easy but possibly challenging for those with mobility challenges in regards to stairs. The jacuzzi and fire pit were so fun. Oh and the smores kit was such a nice touch as well as the welcome basket. We travel a lot and this place has it dialed in. Truly. Cold waters in the fridge upon arrival - ahhhh. So what would I add - a wellness spa for massages, on site morning yoga, sound bathing, etc.... I might add a very modern pool or one that incorporates nature. Lastly I'd recommend a type of gnat spray provided to guests. At dawn and sunset they are incredibly active. Overall this place is nothing short of incredible and its founders should be very proud of what they have created. The effort in creating Open Sky is very much noticed. Sharing nature in this way is a huge gift and this place is truly something special! read more

The best glamping experience ever! I spent so long trying to find which glamping spot I wanted to stay at for my zion trip and driving past all the ones I said no to that were right next to the road I was instantly so glad that I chose open sky. It is up a 10 min dirt road so very remote and private, tents are spaced apart so you can't even hear those around you! We came out here for a 1 night stay getaway and I didn't want to leave. The check in process was seamless and we got all settled in to our camp. Camp is a generic term here because yes it was our space away from everyone but it was too luxurious to be called a camp. Heated bathroom floors, 2 shower heads in the shower, along with an outdoor shower, high end finishes and everything we needed to enjoy the night. We are at Elements, the restaurant. It is a bit pricey but for it being convenient it was well worth it. The bed was so comfortable and the linens were luxurious. It is nice having our privacy, we will be back. read more

Open Sky Zion is an amazing luxury tenting camping experience that will leave you in awe as you approach the campsite nestled into the canyon. Once settled into your tented site you will feel secluded from the other tents on the property, feeling like you are in your own little piece of paradise. The sites are furnished well, with an outdoor grill, fire pit, outdoor as well as indoor shower and luxury furnishing that blend with the natural feel of the area that surrounds you. Each tent is equipped with glass windows as well as a glass front door, which is something you do not find on most safari tented camps. This special touch make each tent and amazing place to enjoy. There is air conditioning, heating and luxuries amenities in each tent, as well as onsite dinner options if you so desire. The site is about a 10-15 minute drive off the main road into Springdale and Zion, Utah and is well graded as easy to drive. Your never far away from all the activities that surround the area of Zion, including food and shopping options, but you feel like your in your own special world when you get to Open Sky Zion. If you are looking for an experience that is amazing and completely enjoyable, relaxing and special you will not regret spending a few nights or longer here and exploring. The tents are phenomenal, 4 stars definitely. We had reserved 2 tents- Desert Rose and Juniper Berry in early June. Juniper Berry is for a family, the only downside is the living area is quite cramped where the bunk bed, sleeper sofa was. Would have been great if it was more spacious. The bunk bed felt a little rickety. The furniture and aesthetics in tents was beautiful, all West Elm. In comparison Desert Rose felt spacious, only thing though is there's no hooks in restroom for hanging towels. And the keypad for entrance to tent is convenient but at night it's hard to see what you're inputting. A nice touch was the welcome gift basket in each tent. But if you're a family traveling with kids the s'mores kit was not enough. For distance I would give the location 3 stars as we were told from the front desk at Open Sky that it was 20min to Zion National Park, it was actually 30 minutes and the private road to the camp site was a 1-2 mile bumpy, unpaved road that was hard on our minivan. It's great if you have a Jeep. The facility should definitely have a sign at the base for easier navigation and marketing purposes, otherwise it just looks like a deserted dirt road. Black Sage on-site restaurant at main tent had a nacho dish that was delish, this is the only dish that was large in portion size but it was $33! The trout was quite small in portion size and just ok, the burger was great but at $32 it should be. Eating outside on patio is hard due to gnats. There seemed to be a gnat problem at the facility. The indoor dining area should be expanded as it was quite small. If you're a party of 6, it takes up the whole area. The complimentary morning grab n go breakfast was ok, they were often out of frittatas. For the rate and considering it's luxury glamping-how breakfast is presented and selections should be improved. Also, the restrooms located near main check-in tent was not that conveniently located. If they were to expand, it should be indoors. Lastly, the people working at the front desk were friendly enough but not knowledgeable at all about Zion National Park questions ie: rate, parking, hikes, etc. Though you can read about everything online on Zion's website, this was our first time and it would have been nice if they were able to answer our questions with confidence. I don't think we'll be returning, but the tents are a great experience! read more

This hidden gem is nestled amongst the orange Utah mountains and is absolutely PHENOMENAL and the owner and the staff were INCREDIBLE! They truly rolled out the red carpet for us and couldn't have made our stay more memorable and special. If you are visiting the Zion National Park and surrounding area, staying here is a must! Have to give a special thanks to Fred who seemed to be working alone but gave us amazing service from check in, food delivery, bringing us things we forgot, etc. He is amazing. The place is very special with amazing rooms and scenery that makes you feel like you are right inside the national park. The food was very good for any hotel food but great when you take into account where you are. Short drive to park entrance. Bring some meats to BBQ because they have nice gas grills for you. Amazing experience!! I honestly can't stop thinking about how magical of a stay it was. From beginning to end it was such a warm and welcoming environment. We were secluded but not far from the city and truly enjoyed every thing it had to offer. From the bath robes and slippers to the organic soaps, complimentary snacks and water and private tour of the property.. I can go on and on. The views were dreamy and being able to lay in the hammock and star gaze before taking advantage of the fire pit and outdoor shower was great. WOW! We were blown away to have the opportunity to stay at the nicest, most unique resort/glamping experience of our lives! We came here for our honeymoon for a few days directly after our Utah wedding, and it was the best decision ever to stay at Open Sky Zion. The facilities were so impressive and upscale, the beds were so comfy, the air-conditioning was amazing despite the desert air being extremely hot outside,& the ability to see the stars both outside AND inside our Starseeker tent was once in a lifetime. We have never experienced such luxury in such a remote, peaceful, and BEAUTIFUL area! Additionally, the staff was so incredibly kind, helpful, and unbelievably generous - Dara in particular knew that it was our honeymoon and went above and beyond to make our day special! We were so taken care of and enjoyed every second we were lucky enough to spend at this resort! I can't recommend staying at Open Sky Zion more!!! We had a party of 10 people coming, including an infant, and the service they provided was above and beyond what our expectations were. With a range of people who wanted to prioritize camping, but having some older family members who definitely didn't want to skimp on any modern luxuries, Open Sky was the perfect place for all of us to relax. Open Sky Zion is perfect if you want top notch accommodations while enjoying the serenity offered by this gorgeous setting. Open Sky thought of nearly everything when designing this glamping experience. From the smores to the heated bathroom floors, they covered all the details. The surrounding scenery by itself is worth the trip. We had a major storm one night and temperatures dropped by about 20 degrees. Nonetheless, our tent stayed dry and warm. Both before arriving and during our stay the team at Open Sky was both accessible and accommodating. We actually tried two of their three tent types. They shared most of the same features, including hammocks, fire pits, gas grill, heat and a/c in the tent and, of course, the mini fridge. The one thing to point out with the two less expensive tents is that you need to be comfortable sharing a bed, because you won't have a choice. If I were in the area again, I would definitely stay here again. read more
