It's an easy drive but yes a tiny bit bumpy. That only adds to the actual location. We actually really liked its remote nature. It's not in the hustle and bustle of town. Everyone at check in was so so kind. We loved our stay. We stayed in stargazer two and the mesh stargazing area is incredible. We laid out on it at night and could not get over what a cool experience that alone was. Decor is top notch. The privacy of each unit was actually incredibly comfortable. The ac is fantastic. Getting to stargazer 2 was easy but possibly challenging for those with mobility challenges in regards to stairs. The jacuzzi and fire pit were so fun. Oh and the smores kit was such a nice touch as well as the welcome basket. We travel a lot and this place has it dialed in. Truly. Cold waters in the fridge upon arrival - ahhhh. So what would I add - a wellness spa for massages, on site morning yoga, sound bathing, etc.... I might add a very modern pool or one that incorporates nature. Lastly I'd recommend a type of gnat spray provided to guests. At dawn and sunset they are incredibly active. Overall this place is nothing short of incredible and its founders should be very proud of what they have created. The effort in creating Open Sky is very much noticed. Sharing nature in this way is a huge gift and this place is truly something special!

My cabin (premium Single sans bathroom) was quite small, but I spent hardly any time in there. I travelled in early January and it was pretty cold outside so next time I might opt for the room with an attached bathroom, but the communal facilities were close and clean. Zion is about 40 minutes away which might be a plus in the high season and Apple Valley has a lot to offer too. Just down the hill is town and plenty to do/eat/see. They seem like a family operation which means quick and personal communication and consistent improvements to the property. They had a mini golf course, great communal room, pickleball and fire pits for each cabin. They are adding a pool/spa which looks like it'll be ready by summer 2026. They also offer laundry which was great but the machines were a little grubby but useful, I don't fault the property for the DIRTY DIRTY things other guests must be putting in the machines. Overall, the price was fair and I would consider staying there again in the future. I extended my stay in the area and stayed at a hotel in Hurricane and had way more fun at Gooseberry and felt more at home. I will also add that they offer snacks & drinks which were priced fairly and very convenient.

Each cabin is designed perfectly, and the one we stayed in was clean, comfortable, and just the right size for our family. If you're looking for something not too big but perfect for a family of five or six, this is the place to go. There are grills and bonfire pits right in front of each cabin, which made our evenings under the stars unforgettable. The views of the sky at night are absolutely breathtaking. They also have a great park area for kids, and they're even building a pool, which will be an amazing addition once it's done. The check-in area is really nice, too, and the lady who helped us was super friendly and welcoming. Inside, they have pool tables and other fun amenities like golf, so there's plenty to do on-site. Overall, Gooseberry Lodges exceeded our expectations. If you're considering a getaway near Zion, you won't be disappointed!

It's the perfect location if you plan to visit the springs (which I also recommend). The space has everything you need to be comfortable and even prepare some small meals. It's lacking a dining table-you can either eat outside with the very small cocktail table or inside at the coffee table. There's a portable burner in place of a stove, which works ok for small things. There's a cool eco-friendly coffee maker. This area gets a ton of wind and is right off the highway, so it can be loud. The owners obviously anticipated this, since they provided earplugs for guests. There is extra bedding, but it's a thin blanket and in the winter months it can get a little chilly. The keyless door worked ok as long as you have one hand to pull the door handle tight and the other to punch in the code. Overall, it's a fun place to stay in a convenient location. The view of the canyon out back was my favorite part and watching the colors of the sunset was mesmerizing.

We booked the "Amazing" view room. I also loved that there's a hike down to the. Virgin River that runs below the houses! The only two things I would say: 1. There was a built in cooktop pictured online. When we got there, it was only a plug-in single burner/hot plate, so just beware if you plan to cook a lot! 2. We booked our stay through the CapitalOne travel portal and used miles to pay for it. When we got there, on their end it showed up not being paid, so we never got an email with our check in information. This was of course not their fault, and we got it figured out, but just a warning for any CapitalOne cardholders, I would book this hotel through their website and not CapitalOne! Overall, we had a really great stay and I would definitely stay here again!

It almost killed my child and ten other girls - one which fell ten feet from the dangerous hike. The girls were also not fed prior to the hike.Thats almost 9 hours without food that day. When they were rescued they were met with a stale charcuterie board that had been left out in the heat for the entirety of the hike . The food situation was so bad a girl had to call her parents to let them know they were not being properly fed and parents had to come and make sure they were being fed. This entire experience was traumatic and it was poorly planned and the owner was negligent. No one was held accountable as per the LDS leadership " we were meant to be up on that out sin in danger."

There is also a Kurig with some complementary coffee. There is a bar dining table top with seating for 3 and a small round table with seating for 2. -The bedroom downstairs is combined with a small living room area with a couch, chair and TV for the family to come together and watch a movie. The bed is plush and great to sink into after a day of hiking. There is an overhead ceiling fan above the bed and a downstairs AC wall unit, both can be controlled with remotes. It was a nice touch that that they also had a separate make up towel and make up remover towelettes. - Upstairs, the bedroom area was just as cozy as the downstairs and the bed just as comfy. There was a small loveseat with TV (suite 3, may be different layout for the other 2 bedroom suite). The upstairs also has a wall mounted AC unit with is adjustable and an extra floor fan to circulate air to your desire comfort. - The outside offers just as many amenities as the inside with area for a fire pit completed with firewood (shared with the other guests) , your own grill with charcoal, and picnic and lounge area. We can't wait to plan more vacations and additional stays at the Silos!
