Chicken looked as if it had been fried using fish batter. Could not get anyone on the phone to resolve the issues. Will not be patronizing this business again.

Rib tips combo w mac n cheese and yams

Long line at 830pm that moved rapidly. One in and one out to keep some semblance of social distancing. No phone orders- one must walk in to order and then wait for them to call your phone. You must show ID if paying with card. They were out of every single dessert when I went along with oxtail. They wrapped up my rib tips combo very expertly today keep the sides separate and the corn bread on top dry. The corn bread was not sweet even at all but wasn't dry even though it was pretty crumbly. The rib tips cake absolutely bathing in an incredibly delicious medium viscosity sweet not spicy barbecue sauce that I am certain has cherry in it. It wasn't cloyingly sweet though! The mac n cheese side was totally great with thick real creamy cheese. The yams were great and unique with hints of orange spice flavor. Overall great Cleveland barbecue with some unique aspects and great efficient service without too much cost.

Being that I'm from Buffalo I found the ribs to be quite tasty , and my 2 sides along with the corn muffin was all on point! There was a lil bit of a wait , but they let you know from the jump when ur ex's pecking good food there's gonna be a wait . Must try neighborhood staple I will be back

OMG, some of the best wings I've ever had!

While visiting Cleveland, I was taken to this place for some fried chicken wings! Can I just say these were the best dayum chicken wings I've ever had! They were fried to perfection! Not to greasy or heavy breading that tends to hinds the chicken! They had a nice crispy crunch just the way I like them! We went back again before I left to get another order and this time we got the black eyed peas with okra, sweet potatoes and a cornbread muffin! OMG, the sweet potato were just like my moms use to make! With lost of flavor and spices! The black eyed peas tasted fresh and very well seasoned, even the fries that came with the chicken wings were the Bomb! The staff was super friendly! Next time I'm in Cleveland I'm making a bee line to this place! It's the next best thang to home cooking! Just be prepared for the wait!

Baaybee I'm telling you these wings are on point. It's the crunchy batter that really sets them apart from CLE faves like Hot Sauce Williams who have good sauce but-saugy batter. Open pit has a tangy but sweet sauce that's supper addictive. Now as for the service... baebee you better be prepared to see some hood sh*t and be on some hood sh*t... they rude as hell, they don't take call ahead orders, matter of fact I'm still tryna understand why they even have a business phone. They have signs all over telling you you're about to wait about 35 minutes for 10 wings. That don't open until like 6pm...And people freaking wait and deal with the BS... you know why? cause the food is fire.

Large rib tips were banging again!

Staff is nice. Food hot. Call in your order so you don't have to wait. I drive 30 miles for my food, it's worth it.

Sweet beets were, well, sweet and savory and tasty overall. Corn muffin was kinda hard but flavorful. The liver and onions had zero onions at all. It was smothered in a flavorful gravy and overall good but would've been much better with some caramelized onions anywhere. The coleslaw was unexpectedly delicious. Soft lettuce and yet crunchy cabbage mixed created a fantastic texture and it had almost a creamy dressing to it with great flavor. Yum! The entree was $15 which was pretty darn reasonable too.

We usually sit at the bar, watch a game, have a drink, and enjoy each other and a meal. It's always been worth the money and time--until yesterday evening. We have been coming here for over 10 years and always recommend Zanzibar to our out-of-town friends and family because of how much we love the food. Our bartender was very rude, snappy, and acted as if we were bothering her from the moment we walked in. She was not welcoming, placed our orders incorrectly, and messed up my husband's drink three times. Our appetizers came out after our meals. Instead of apologizing without attitude, she never took accountability and blamed the cooks, while the cooks blamed her. The cooks were much more apologetic. When bringing out our appetizer, the bartender said, "You seem bothered. I can take the appetizer off, but you need to give it here. If I take it off, you won't eat it and not be charged for it." We never mentioned being unsatisfied with the appetizer, so it was unnecessary and unprofessional for her to speak that way or make that assumption. Both my husband's and my sides were incorrect with our main meals. When we informed another server, he rolled his eyes out of frustration with the bartender (not at us) and apologized. He said he would bring out the correct sides and told us to keep what we had. I mentioned I don't eat coleslaw and didn't want to waste food. He then brought me a double side of what I originally ordered. However, the bartender saw this and added it to our bill. I explained that I did not ask for the extra side--it was given to us due to the repeated mistakes. She said it was still in front of me, whether I asked for it or not, and refused to remove the charge. The side I never ordered was an additional $6. At that point, my husband was ready to leave. After this experience, he does not wish to return. The experience was frustrating, uncomfortable, and completely unlike what we've experienced here before.

I don't think there's table service. The decor does not have artsy metals and hand blown glass accents. By the same way of thinking, every food truck and street food joint would be bad. Big Al's in Larchmere would be avoided and the Sokolowskis would have been closed decades ago. "Ashley" said nothing about the food, man! She had problems with containers and condiments! Restaurants are about the food! My experience with this place starts at work: a coworker was eating a mammoth sized portion of fettuccine Alfredo-looking stuff and I asked her where she got it. She said "Greedys" and pointed in the direction of the place. "I call ahead like 15 minutes and walk over to get it. This is like $10 and I can eat it for dinner too, there's so much You should try it. I go there twice a week, at least." Being a vegan on the east side is rough, and I'm the worst vegan ever, so when I cheat, I don't hold back. The next day I was craving chicken like crazy, and I gave Greedy's a shot: Holy $#*¥! Greedys chicken was DOPE. Haha. Honest to god, it's the best chicken I've ever eaten. It's got something in the breading that puts it over the top. Some voodoo salty spicy goodness that makes me never want to stop eating it. I took an order of chicken strips back to work and shared with a few coworkers - the general consensus was that, indeed, that was the best chicken strips they had ever had. I probably made a lot of customers for Greedys that day. We all commented on the special magic coating...it is something special. And now I'm out a few days, and keep thinking about that chicken...those hand-cut fries....just wow. And the order of 5 strips was a laughable $6. It was more food than anyone but a glutton vegan on a protein bender could eat. So now every day I'm faced with the decision of my bland vegetables from home for lunch, or walking those few steps to Greedys. It's right next door to a church- and the chicken is like a religious experience.
