I visited on a weekday evening with my 11 yr old son after an hour of street skating in University Circle. We were hungry! Comfort CLE delivers massively on WINGS and Fresh cut fries. I've tasted a lot of wings in my life and these are at the top my a landslide. A crispy crunch with a bit of seasoning & pleasantly sauced but not overly so. I don't even like bbq sauce but their 'Tht Sauce' is sumthin special. These wings chefs make 95% of other wing Joints look like scam artists (no disrespect intended) as these wings are just next level. As are the fresh cuts. Somehow you get a variety fry textures in one order. Perfectly seasoned with THT sauce! The vibes are the best here. Kind & professional staff. Deliciously house made drinks including an amazing ginger-ade and amazing art on the walls with homages to prominent African American cultural figures and a photo wall honoring Glenville born celebrities. I'm very surprised of how much I enjoyed my food. I read the reviews before ordering, and I must agree with the majority. Those were some of the best wings I've had. Seasoned just right, not salty and you can taste every ingredient. The Mac and cheese was different. I prefer mine very cheesy but theirs has a great flavor. I ordered yams but was given slaw instead. (Grubhub order) The slaw is beautiful.I love the bright colors. I found it had a little too much vinegar for my taste, but I kept it and put it on top of a burger instead. Despite the minor dislikes I still highly recommend, and I'll be back. read more

DO NOT EAT Here!!!!!!!!! Going on day 4 and I still have food poisoning from eating here. I had their wing dinner with mac and yams. I ate on saturday and i'm still recovering. My yams were ridiculously watery as if they were old or not cooked correctly and my mac was so dry. Chicken was good but this whole experience has been horrible for me. I will never eat here again. I've eaten here about three times now. The chicken is always cooked to perfection. Nice and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The flavor is great. The fries are also very good. They have the same seasoning as the chicken and are very good when you dip them in the sauce. The sauce is like a sweet heat and just takes everything up a notch. I recommend calling ahead for your order as they make everything fresh. Service is awesome. I always feel welcomed and they take good care of you here. Parking is street parking out front which is often full or a small lot at the end of the other side of the building. That's my only complaint. The inside is very clean and well taken care of. If you're in the area and craving some chicken I highly recommend. I'll be a regular for the foreseeable future. read more

Staff was super friendly, catfish was really good, but the greens were under cook, dry, super vinegary, and I have never had mac n cheese with so little cheese. Maybe it was a off day, but I will try again. read more

My husband and I are always looking to support small black businesses- so it was a no brainer to go when we found out about ComfortCLE and we were in the area. The location and space are great. The decor on the inside was bright, vibrant and specific to all things black culture - so I love that. The service we received was quick and the cashier was pleasant . The reason i have to give one star is because although the food was hot, not only did I end up throwing most of it away, I ended up in the emergency room last night with a food poisoning diagnosis. I know it was the food I had from there because it was the only thing I ate that day and the very next morning I was doubled over in pain. The greens had a funny taste and were overly sweet , the Mac was unfortunately dry and had a smoky flavor, and the yams were basically slightly sweetened sweet potato puree with how mushy and mashed they were. The chicken was fresh but lacked flavor. It seemed like the only seasoning was outside on the skin and not throughout the meat. I had high expectations for this place given their social media profile but it just did not meet the moment and I spent 5 hours in ER because of it. I wish the owners all the best luck, but I can't say that I would return or recommend this restaurant. read more

Wings were ordered for an event, very gross, sauces were nasty, no one ate them. Very disappointing. Staff seemed very unsure of what they were doing, food was not ready until 30 minutes after arrival and 50 minutes after the quoted time for pick up. owner refused refund and only offered to remake food, doesn't really matter if the event was over and NO ONE liked or ate them the first time. read more

The food was amazing! Service was personable and a take out customer showed us his plate to help us order. This was our first time having southern food. I'm glad we got the sauce on the side. For me, it was spicy, but my husband loved it. We got the dinner special and the big sexy chicken sandwich. The big sexy sandwich was chicken, coleslaw mixed with the hot sauce. It was amazing, but my mouth was on fire (but I'm a weaklings on spice lol). I absolutely loved their fried chicken. The decor is a whole vibe, the library, the board games and the UNO is a nice touch. The food....the food was deliciousioso. The owner Jeremy was very attentive to each and every customer. The young lady who took my order was a doll. I ordered the wing dinner with Mac and cheese, collard greens and yams it also came with a cornbread muffin. I have ate food from this spot on multiple different occasions and it's been consistent every time! Fresh, made to order food that is absolutely delicious. The chicken, fried and seasoned to perfection and the fries are my fav!! I had to leave a review because it's not often you can get this kind of consistency in the food business these days. You will have to wait for your food so call ahead, but I will gladly wait if my food is this good every single time! The customer service too, just can't beat it. I came yesterday for the first tome and I was not impressed. I don't eat sauce on my food they never asked if i wanted sauce so all this sweet sauce was all over food. My greens was sweet also everything has way to much sugar in it. My macaroni was dry and unseasoned it was not to my liking at all. The fries was bomb but had sugar on them as well. But the owner was a very good guy. Ill come back but tell them how I want it seasoned the nectar time. It would of been good if it wasn't for the sweetness. read more

First off I gotta say the best wings I ever had. The sauce which tastes like a louisiana honey hot sauce was too good. Not to mention the fries and the big sexy chicken sandwich all was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Also just eating there it gave a you at home family vibe because everybody was so friendly especially the guy who greeted us soon as we stepped in the door.
