Sales processed rushed. Significant errors in the bid. Did not follow construction plans - left out one window, doors backwards, another window larger than specified. Upon installation, "forgot" there were supposed to be screens on the windows. Installation was very poor - exterior door pushed in within a couple of days of installation with damage to frame. Did not seem concerned that door was so easily broken into. Handle on one door broke 2 weeks after installation. Very defensive when problems brought to their attention. Cannot recommend. read more

We had about 6 or 7 glass units replaced, as the seals were compromised. The workers did a decent job, but the glass Open Enclose used for the job was very milky on the inside (between the panes) when the sun shone on it. It was bad enough that they even replaced 3 units that were the worst, and the new units showed the same defect. Turns out they used a brand of glass called OldCastle. That seemed to be the problem because we had Green Valley Glass replace these new windows with another brand and the milkiness problem went away. Open Enclose refused to reimburse us for the 3 units we had Green Valley Glass replace. If you decide to get your glass from Open Enclose, do not let them sell you OldCastle glass. read more

Our experience from purchasing to install is literally like night and day. We felt confident that we made the right choice until the installation process. We replaced all windows, purchased brand new doors and door frames, etc, for our remodel. The unfortunate thing here is that that they seem to have competent people in sales and at the front desk. But from the installation side, it's been a revolving door of in experienced people who literally have to watched with a close eye while they are doing their work. From breaking glass, to welding metal IN FRONT of our glass entry door and ruining the glass, but not taking responsibility for it, to workers walking right into the home to look at the view without even asking permission, working with Open Enclose has been a very expensive nightmare. The basics were not even met during our install- like doors being able to lock and screen doors not being installed on the track. Leaving a review about a negative experience is the last thing I think anyone wants to do, but as someone who takes supporting local seriously and communicating to a business directly first, the end result of working with this company has been 1-star. I also was not surprised to read another review mentioning the owner felt uncomfortable in her home with the installers, because I felt the same way. Ownership should take more pride in creating a healthy company culture with values and professionalism that all employees embody. We have used OpenEnclose for several projects over the years. Each time they have been amazing. Our first experience was in 2009 when they replaced a slider with a french door. It is still beautiful today and works great. They have fixed windows, replaced windows and yesterday finished installing 2 new exterior doors. The salespeople were great. The staff came on time, and were polite and professional. It was a difficult job and took all day. Only an hour or so from when they arrived, a rainstorm and strong winds came and a bust of cold wet air in to the windowless area made their job more difficult but they worked very hard despite the cold. Their measurements were completely off and the new door has a 3.5" gap which they temporarily stuck a piece of plywood in and we are told the new door won't come in for another month. If you are looking for new windows please go literally anywhere else and don't get involved with this highly unprofessional company. Their work is incredible for how sloppy it is. We had a shower window and our large picture windows replaced by them and their work was so atrocious from the moment they arrived. Our bathroom window frame is scratched, warped, and had random unfilled screw holes in it. It barely slides open and it needs to be shut very hard. Our large front windows: When we met with the salesperson to go over our plan we specifically requested multiple times having our windows set in a certain way, and it is our fault we accidentally signed the contract that had the error in it that stated they would be inset windows. The actual installation of the windows was done by two people. One seemed like he knew what he was doing, the other one was maybe being trained, but was unprofessional in my home and made me feel very uncomfortable. We have wooden window frames; the wood had so much caulk smeared across the wood and were installed so poorly that when my husband saw the work that was done he was completely taken aback. My husband is very knowledgeable about contracting work and we had a lot of faith that the finishing work that would be done by Open Enclose would be very neatly done. My husband called to express his concern, we were told nothing and had no response from OE. They needed to come back to install more glass because the first time they came they had broken two of the four windows they were installing in the front. When they came back they also told us they needed to reinstall the shower window as it had been done incorrectly the first time. Surprisingly, the second time they came out they replaced everything including the poor woodwork/finishing they had done. We hoped it would be redone much better, but alas, we had no such luck. The caulking was just as terrible, all over the wood and would take hours of tedious work and money to fix the wood trim, the shower window is warped, barely slides open, is leaking some kind of black grease, and there are empty screw holes inside that were drilled into our brick window frame. We had put down a 50% deposit months before when we had placed our order. For a long time after we had considered not paying the other 50% of the cost. My husband wrote them a letter expressing our concerns at how terrible their work was when we sent in our check. They cashed the check and we have heard nothing from them. However they called my husband every single day and sent letters in the mail demanding payment for the few months we were debating payment. The windows have been in place approximately 6 months. One of the glass panes has already broken in the front window, we believe from where the crack started that shoddy workmanship is what lead to this crack. The shower window was dinged up and left a mess when they installed it. I highly discourage anyone from seeking work from these people; they have excellent customer service until they actually come to do work. Then, no service whatsoever and horrible work. Edited to add: I was bullied by the worker who came to our house the first time into signing a paper stating their work was "satisfactory". I told the worker I didn't want to to sign and he said "you need to sign and then we will come back to fix everything" and I repeated my refusal but he wouldn't leave until I signed. Don't let them inside your house. They are generally nice people and the representatives talk as if they know what they are doing, but the workers are ill trained and ill managed. They make simple and basic mistakes that are impossible to properly correct so you end up paying good money for a shoddy job. Like installing a pre-hung door that's out of plumb, and latches that scrape the wood trim. The first clue was a contract that absolves Open Enclose of any damage to the house. The fellow broke two floor tiles that we had to replace. So that added to the work we had to do. Workers came late, left early. A day and a half job turned into three. Second day they didn't show up. No one called to let us know they were pulled away to another job. (New scheduler. High employee turnover. That tells you something.) The second clue was installing a front door and re-using the forty-plus year old hinges. Next day he found the new hinges that came with the new door and confessed he had wondered about it, but he had used the old hinges anyway. In addition to that door, we had two new pre-hung doors installed. The rest of this review is about them. One isn't level. The door swings open by itself. We should have them do it over again, but they have already damaged enough of our house. Both new door latches hit the wood molding. The molding was installed too close to the door so the latch strike plate did not protect the beginning of the strike. The fellow never bothered to square the carve-out for the deadbolt cover plate, so the plate wasn't flush and it rubbed & scratched the door jam. No deadbolt strike plates installed on either door. (They come with the deadbolt.) They just left both as wood carve-outs. One deadbolt cover plate had both screws missing. (They come with screws,) Called and a supervisor fellow came out to check. Yes, he confirmed it was not done right and wrote notes about all that needed to be fixed. Then when the repair crew showed up, they didn't have the parts. They had to go to Ace. Obviously, the supervisor never bothered to pass on the information. (He also never bothered to schedule the repair. I had to call and complain.) We had to fabricate parts and add a strike plate to protect the wood molding. That and the tilted door will forever remind us of the shoddy work and compromises we had to accept from basic mistakes by Open Enclose. When you pay good money for work you expect reasonably professional results. Avoid Open Enclose. Poorly trained and inexperienced workers. I suspect their incompetence comes from top down. read more

When I ordered a window back in August 2021, the rep quoted a two month timeframe to install. We had to cut into the building to get accurate measurements. Then, the install date was pushed back an additional three months. So we had plywood installed over the window for roughly five months. The window manufacterer informed me he had the window delivered within a month of our initial purchase. Even after multiple phone calls, they kept the install date the same. Then, the install date arrived and they pushed back the install even further. They have had unwarranted issues with every contractor I've ever had do work on my property. Just check their reviews, they're all negative. Some people are just miserable. Kelly and Mike were excellent in cleaning up after themselves and made sure not to encroach on the neighbor's yard. I was home all day and they were very professional and I heard no interactions between them and the neighbor, nor did they ever complain about the neighbors. I chose to go with Open Enclose when I decided to replace my patio door. I wanted real wood French doors and Open Enclose were one of few local companies that offered this. I also liked that they were locally owned. The estimator came out, we discussed what I wanted and he quoted a price & timeline. I paid 50% of the agreed upon price ($4,516) - and the wait began. I understood it would be several weeks. The 1st payment was made 2/21/23 when an arrival date was quoted to be around 2 months. When I inquired I was given a variety of reasons why things were not on schedule. I'm disabled & use a walker, so imagine my surprise when at 7:00 am a couple of guys show up out of the blue to start the work. Long story short, the doors were finally installed in September. The work was shoddy and the frame was several inches from the wall, there were gaping holes at the bottom of both doors & it took several tries to get the door frame square. While I waited to have these issues resolved, I received a registered letter stating my last payment was 30 days past due so if not paid by a certain date a lien would be out on my property. WHAT!? When I contacted Open Enclose, they sent a couple of people out to kind of half-ass the repairs and there is still a gap under one of the doors. At this point I was too disgusted and exhausted to keep dealing with them so just made the last payment. I would, however, like to give kudos the their stucco guy. He was great. It was then when I decided to write a negative review, warning anyone who is considering doing business with Open Enclose just DON'T DO IT!!! After 7 attempts to install one window they FINALLY got it right.... But destroyed my hot tub cover and a patio umbrella in the process! First of all, your installers are extremely skilled. I have an old adobe house, which presents considerably challenges. They are up for anything, obviously. They are so good at what they do that they could install flat doors in a round house, in my opinion. They were so professional and nice to deal with, too, very careful with my house & my possessions. You must be very proud to have such skilled people on your team. Okay, now for the doors. They are spectacular. The construction is perfect, the wood grain is gorgeous, the stain job is utterly perfect. I really should not have waited so long to purchase these. They are more beautiful than I even imagined. In in an old burnt adobe house like mine with wood beamed ceilings, they look like they have been there forever. Steve, who did the measurements and helped me pick out the wood, made a flawless recommendation in the stain color, so glad I listened to him. And my house even smells really nice with the scent of wood...I know that won't last but every time I walk into my house, the scent greets me first and then I see the doors and all I can do is smile. We were trying to have some Pella windows installed to replace some old windows on our house. We had to schedule 10 days in advance to have someone come at the time we requested. When we had not heard back from them 5 days after their visit, we called and were told they did not have anyone who would be able to install the windows. We contacted 4 companies for quotes and they were the only ones who did not offer a bid. read more

When they say they install windows, that is all they do. Forget getting a finished product and your home back in order. Our stucco needed repair as at least 15" was removed or damaged completely around the opening when the old ones (2) came out, along with taking the wall board inside down to the studs and left. No option or foreseeable date for repair. Was told that cost was on us, $2,000 was spent getting my house back in order. Thank goodness for Northwest Builders for stepping and immediately doing all the repairs that were needed to get our house in working order. The list of "not our responsibility" is endless. They state they will repair stucco but that is a contracted job and no one can tell you when it will be scheduled. Just learned that neighbors with the same two windows were replaced for less than $3,000 and we had to pay over $4,000. Sales also did not mention that the Milgard Tuscan was dramatically different from the ones they took out so we now have a 3" border instead of the 1" border. So we are now looking at the mountains and golf course through a large heavy picture frame look. This is a BEWARE note! If a Zero or minus was an option, that would be the correct number!! read more

We hired Open Enclose to replace 12 interior doors for us. They measured the front hall closet door incorrectly, leaving us with damaged drywall needing significant repair above the door (the trim didn't cover the damage where the old trim was removed). We were told "we could hire a drywall guy ourselves to come out and do the repair" or they could order wider trim (which wouldn't match the trim in the rest of the house). We contacted our sales person who referred us to their Quality person and said he would call and come out in the afternoon. We didn't get a call back from Quality but called back and reached him. He said he'd call us after the workers finished to arrange to have a drywall guy come out. We still haven't heard from him. We shouldn't have to hire and pay for a drywall repairperson due to their measurement error, after spending $12,000 on new doors. There were several other issues as well--their truck leaked oil that stained our concrete driveway, and they used the wrong paint to touch up the door frames so it doesn't match. Twice their rep sprayed my windows attempting to find this leak. They then stated it was a roof leak. Three different roofing companies stated it was a window leak, not a roof leak. We had an idea what we wanted but Jared refused to listen! We have been remodeling houses for 20 years in the Northwest and his conduct was surprising to both my wife and I. He just kept telling us what we should buy and talking a mile a minute. He wouldn't even listen to hear that we were interested in the Milgard Style Line windows and Milgard Trinsic patio sliders. He just decided we should buy the Tuscany Line, without asking us or listening to us. Surprise, surprise, the Tuscany line is more expensive! We couldn't get a word in edgewise. When we tried to tell him what we wanted he kept asking "Why do you want that?" and then he was unable to explain why we should buy what he was insisting we buy. Spent many times on the phone trying to get the windows fixed that were not put in properly the first time. Have had some good phone conversations and some terrible phone conversations depending on who I was speaking with. Scheduling service for improperly installed windows was a nightmare. Nobody seemed to know what the other person was doing--service and customer service all jumbled up. It has taken literally months to make a few alterations to fix the windows to get them to work after they were installed improperly. I'm still waiting. I do not recommend this business. read more

They originally said it would take 4-6 weeks to acquire the windows and they'd install them shortly after, so the project would be around 7 weeks. They asked for a 50% down payment immediately. After I paid, they revealed that they wouldn't be able to come do the measurements for another 3 weeks, meaning it would actually take 7-9 weeks to get the materials, and then their installation crew was already booked out 5 months! So the project would have actually taken about 7 MONTHS instead of 7 weeks... Telling me all that after I made the down payment is very misleading. So I got a refund (to their credit, they were responsive and gave me a refund immediately) and I will be using Olander's instead. read more

Not pleased with our recent installation of french doors. From start to finish, the process was about 8 months, which is insane. The installation got pushed back a few times (this was pre-COVID), and they had to come out at least 4 times after the door was installed to fix issues with the door. I don't think I've ever had a company come out to my house so much! We paid a lot of money for a door that came damaged with lots of dents and chipped paint. I highly doubt this door is going to last longer than 5 years. It is unfortunate that their quality is poor, as we were looking to replace the dozen or so windows in our house. In reviewing Open Enclose there are some common "traits" or circumstances that appeared in this company that eventually lead me to involving my credit card company for a refund. After months of waiting for call backs and updates to the numerous attempts of inaccurate product orders by an Open Enclose door tech; Open Enclose left my front door unable to lock. To top off the chaos, Open Enclose reached out to take payment for a job that was not only incomplete but made worse. When I advised the operator she was once again surprised to discover the job was not only unfinished (during the third visit) but that my front door needed immediate attention. Throughout this process, I remained patient and hopeful that they would be capable of fixing my door. A few days later I received a call from the owner/manager who informed me that I would have to replace the entire door. The manager/owner quoted a cost between 2-4K but also stated he would email a legit quote. He also advised he could return my 300$ down payment to the original quote of $600 for lock, and after two months of our broken relationship we could go our separate ways. At that point I asked that he send me a quote. Because replacing a perfectly good door due to a broken lock made no sense to me, I started calling neighboring cities. After a few days I got a hold of a company that was familiar with the exact lock my door possessed. They also offered a discount because my spouse is a federal officer. The cost for lock and labor$400. Weeks passed and I heard nothing from Open Enclose. In my experience, this was typical with this company. Finally, I receive a call from the manager/owner informing me they found the part to replace my lock. I informed him I had found a company who had already been out to fix the door and explained, I hadn't heard anything from Open Enclose. I asked him to refund the down payment which he declined. His reason was that he spent lots of time researching parts. I didn't hire Open Enclose to waste my time for two months by ordering wrong parts and rendering my door unlock-able. I hired them to fix a lock. Because he refused to refund my monies I had to involve my credit card company. Which says a lot about this company. To the Open Enclose manager, from the reads of other reviews it sounds you offer a good service. But sometimes good companies drop the ball and that was my case. I tried four times to resolve this with them beginning in Jan 2018. The salesmanager, Jared told me the most they would do is remove the old window and cover the hole with plastic. Billy was friendly, professional, and honest. The door just needed some adjustment for the lock to catch, and he explained what we needed to do to get it to work. They even washed the windows inside and out after they were finished, and they did a perfect job--unlike a company I once used in another city for my home that did a sloppy cleaning job. My new windows are beautiful and sturdy, and when I had trouble putting my Venetian blinds back up after they left several days before, Chris and his assistant came back to help me reinstall them. The sealant around the windows needed a couple of days to cure and when I tried on my own to deal with the blinds, I ran into problems. Just had Milguard windows and interior/exterior doors installed by Jason Libby and Andrew Craig in a new straw bale residence. Installation was done quickly and efficiently, followed by a walk-around inspection with a few minor issues immediately addressed satisfactorily. Jason and Andrew had no difficulty dealing with the somewhat unique thick walls and concrete window and door frames. Time will tell regarding the performance of the windows and doors, but my dealings with Open Enclose have been more than satisfactory. I would use them again for any future project. read more

Just got my front door installed by Open Enclose and wow what a difference it made. It is really beautiful. T J was our salesperson and was quite helpful in helping us choose a finish and hardware for the door. They are really located in a part of Tucson that was a bit out of the way. However, I guess they can keep their prices fair because I'm sure the rent has to be low. The showroom is adequate. Starting the shopping for doors was quite a weird path we took. Most of the stores we went to insisted that the wife has to be there for any estimates they give. Not sure if that is a policy in Window and Door shops but most of them were a turn off to us. This place is not like that so that was a relief. Eric installed the door and we were pleased with his knowledge and professionalism. His helper as well was also good. Now we have to wait to see if any rain comes in. Hopefully, this fixed the problems we were experiencing with the 25 year old wooden door. Also, we had a window portion for the door and now makes the hallway so much brighter. read more
