You can never ever go wrong ordering from OpaOpa and mag I suggest that you try their BIG Greek salads. Like they are everything, the one with lamb (and ooooo how I love the lamb) and chicken is so gooood. By far the best Greek food in downtown Wilmington. I'm from Philadelphia which is a great food town and up until a month ago, every time I had a taste for Greek or Mediterranean food I'd take the hour drive to my favorite little spot. No complaints. $9 is reasonable I guess but then again it's just veggies In a plastic container. My partner had grape leaves and tzaziki dip (how do you spell that?) with pita. She didn't like the grape leaves at all but dip and pita were on point. They charge extra for pita even when you order $5 worth of dip which seems kinda whack to me. $20 for everything together. Wonderful! I ordered five platters of food for a party. I was so incredibly impressed with the tasty food and the wonderful service. My family was amazed that our crowd could enjoy Greek food and not the typical hoagies or pizza. What a terrific alternative! The food was freshly made and the gyros were packed with meat. Have eaten here 5 or 6 times and it has always been very good. Each of the times that I got a salad I have been impressed at the quality of the veggies- especially the tomatoes. The amount of chicken that I receive in salads is always generous and well seasoned. I've had gyros, rice pudding and several other items as well. Always great quality, portion, seasoning and temperature. It is a small and simple place but delicious, authentic Greek food. It would be great if they converted the few high tops into booths so that it was a little more welcoming to eat in, but that didn't take away from the high quality of veggies and food overall. read more

Pretty standard Greek fast food spot with good gyros. In my expert opinion, the Greek fries need something to hold the toppings. Despite getting fairly above average ratings here on Yelp for a long time, Opa Opa was only brought into my consideration when the couple at Gaudiello's went on vacation for a week, and the line at El Diablo was ridiculous. I'm kind of happy all those things happened, but Opa Opa was very good. I got the lamb gyro. Previously, my experiences with gyro's had been at the Mediterranean Grille on Main St., and from New York Fried Chicken on 6th and King (you know you messed up when you order a gyro from a fried chicken joint that says it's from NY in Wilmington). This gyro blew those two out of the water. It's would be my new favorite Greek place, if it wasn't for Semo's on 9th Street and if they didn't yell at each other in Greek so much. In general I have few complaints. Usually stick with the gyro platter. Tastes good. Prior to them merging with Dino's Cheesesteaks there were no issues. Since the merger it no longer has the "greek" smell because the smell of cheesesteaks is overpowering. In addition, there have been issues with the Greek salad the last 2 times I have order the platter. It was missing feta cheese the first time. The second time, they mixed malt vinegar in the dressing instead of red, basamic, or something typical. It was an unexpected taste. Kind of gross on a salad. read more

I had the Bifteki Wrap and it is delicious! I like that it is not overladen with tzatziki sauce - it has enough for flavor and to not be dry. When I first went here, I fell in love! I got the chicken gyro... everything tasted fresh! I've since gone back several times and things are just not consistent! The last time the chicken tasted stale and grease was dripping from the pita. The price point is interesting as well. If you get the gyro as a sandwich it comes with a crap load of fries. But if you pay more for a platter...the difference is a small salad instead of fries. Seems odd that it would be more expensive for less food. The platter, in my mind should include both fries and salad. Anyways... it's in my new neighborhood..I'm sure I'll try it on occasion and just cross my fingers that I am going to get freshly cooked gyros. read more

Not gonna lie this was pretty good Greek food! Got it take out because I showed up right before closing (sorry again staff!) Got a gyro with fries which was really tasty and they put a lot of meat too. Would of loved more tzatziki sauce on it but that's just me...love my gyros drenched in it! Fries were pretty good too for just being regular fries. Loved the nice big slices of tomato they put on the gyro too! Also got baklava which was really good. Upon departing from the train station I B-lined directly here to get a gyro sandwich as I remember it to be very delicious last year. Much to my disappointment, the sandwich barely lukewarm. However, to their credit it was chockful of gyro meat (too much, actually, and not enough sauce which made it dryer than it should have been). The fries were very good. The spanakopita was absolutely a dried out disaster. You get five pieces and I could only eat one because it was terribly dried out and flavorless. The portion sizes are real small and it's way overpriced. The moussaka I got was maybe four bites and cost $14 with a small salad. The same falafel sandwich I get in Newark for $4 was $10 here. If the quality of the food was outstanding, then the portion size might be okay. However, I prefer the Mad Greek in Chichester. read more
