Calzone with fries - The image shows a large white oval plate containing a Greek salad with chopped vegetables, sliced meat, and a drizzle of dressing. Next to the salad are numerous pita chips, some overlapping, with a light dusting of seasoning. A small round container of white sauce or dressing is placed on the plate. The setting appears to be outdoors, with sunlight casting shadows on the plate and a wooden table surface.

Wow! The food was delicious and timely. You can sit either outside or inside. Today we chose to sit outside because it was a beautiful day and a breeze.

What a cute little place! If you're looking for a little taste of Greece in Rochester, this place is the spot. Great atmosphere with a touch of Greece in the decor. The waitstaff was very helpful and friendly. The pricing is reasonable and the portions are hearty. The Greek salad was very tasty and the pita bread was served nice and warm. A great find and a must-stop while in Rochester.

I was referred to this place by a local Greek guy who said they make legit saganaki- I was not disappointed! Really tasty & legit- as you can see from the 'fireball' pic. My party was quite pleased with our meals- we all got some version of the gyro meat on salad. Their dressing is delicious & their tsadziki was also good. They served very fresh veggies- which is not a given in the middle of a snowy tundra! I got a variety plate & was able to sample a few things too. Food & food value were a solid 3 to 4. Did not try other items but would go back given the fun atmosphere & attentive staff. A definite 4.

I really just wanted some vegan-friendly dolmas but I ended up getting some of their fresh cut fries as well as some of their spinach and rice. The employee who assisted me was acting very weird. He wasn't necessarily rude but he wasn't really helpful either. I advised him that I was vegan and inquired about certain menu items and their vegan-friendliness. His answers seemed uncertain even though he verbally assured me that he knew what he was talking about. He stated that the spinach and rice was vegan and contained no dairy-products or animal broth. I pray that he was right. DOLMAS - you get six little dolmas for $7. The dolmas were very good but over-priced for the size and portion. OPA HOMEMADE FRIES - sooooo delicious! I loved the seasoning and they give you so many fries for the $5! (Other places should take note! hmph) SPINACH & RICE - DELICIOUS! I don't know how a simple recipe can be so inspiring. I need this recipe because I could eat this every day. I've never seen this dish at a Greek restaurant so I'll have to make it back over here the next time I'm in town.

Stopped in on a whim. Love the Greek hole in the wall ambiance . My gyro and fry/chips are exactly what I wanted

We stopped in here yesterday on a whim to check it out. Opa! Opa! Has been around for awhile, located in SE Rochester, offering take-out, as well as delivery through Grub Hub. We ordered the gyro plate, the Pastitio (Greek Lasagne), both with a cup of Avgolemono, and an order of falafel to share. The gyro was amazing, very rich tasting, well seasoned meat, the Avgolemono was perfect - rich and creamy with the perfect amount of lemon. My only issue with the food was that the Pastitio was under seasoned. It came off a bit bland, so I added salt to mine to make it have a little more flavor profile - other than that, it was wonderful. The spinach rice was very good, I'd get that for takeout as a stand alone dish. I appreciate that their plates are served with kalamata olives and pepperoncini as garnish. The service was good, the restaurant was clean and I enjoyed the atmosphere. It is a pretty small restaurant, maybe not ideal for a very large party. I'd totally go back!

Souvlaki Platter - The image shows a white plate with leftover food, including a skewer with grilled meat, chopped onions, lettuce, and some greens. A fork and knife rest on the plate, which is placed on a wooden table. The setting appears to be in a restaurant, likely Greek, based on the food items visible.

Wonderful place. Atmosphere. Food is fabulous. Enjoyed having lunch here today! Souvlaki platter with sauce just great! Service is very good too. Clean place!

Nupa Mediterranean Cuisine - Gyros Pita and wild rice soup

I ordered online and then went to pick up my order. Nupa is staffed by wonderful people!…read more The place is small. In terms of what it looks like, it could be the McDonald's of Greek food BUT the menu is filled with items made from fresh ingredients. The Calamari is lightly breaded and perfectly seasoned. We chose pita chips over pitas. For the additional side we chose hummus. The hummus was good but at the end of the huge meal, it was one of the things most leftover. The servings of each meal were incredibly generous. The Gyro was heaped with so much meat that I was so glad to have spent the $0.75 for extra tzaziki with the Gyro Platter. The Gyro comes with the option of adding a side with it for less than it would be if ordering a side separately, if you want grilled zucchini which had the BEST flavor! Also you could choose fries, rice, or a couple other options. The Gyro Platter comes with gyro meat and a second option. Then there are also 2 sides that you pick to go along with them. If you want additional gyro meat (OMG, most people won't be able to eat it in one sitting!) you can add it here for half the price of getting it just as a side I figured that we needed to try the Baklava. I got one piece for 2 people to share. Looking at the small piece, I probably would have ordered 2. But I am happy to have shared so I did not over-eat too much. After a few hours, the baklava insisted that I try it. The absolute GLORY that is GOOD baklava!!! It did not taste like sugary sweet corn syrup. It tasted like honey and nut and pastry... Everything the best baklava is!

First he welcomed us with free middle eastern coffee called karak. Its dark black coffee with cardamom. We ordered the lamb kabob platter , hammus and pita bread. He came out with generous amount of free fried chicken for my friend and for me with freshly made baba ganoush and warm fresh pita bread! Not just that, he also gave us soda for free! Such a kind man with great hospitality. Even if it wasnt for the free food, i would still rate this restaurant highest because of the delicious food and such a humble and kind owner who makes you feel at home. The place has a rustic Middle Eastern vibe but it's not kept well. The table we first got had food stains on the table cloth and a dirty fur coat on the wall. We decided to move to a different table. I saw food on other tables as well. The owner spent most of the time in the back talking to someone than waiting on us. We didn't get silverware until the main course and never got water. I went to the fridge in the front after our meal was done because we were tired of waiting and thirsty. The falafel is the best thing that we had. It was fresh but a bit oil. It had a nice crunch to it and the flavor profile was good. The sauce with it was average but good. The mixed grilled platter was underwhelming. The best meat was the lamb. There wasn't much flavor in the chicken and the other meat was too dry. I think the veggies were a bit too chard for my liking. The shawarma was not that great. It seamed as if it was chicken chunks and not the properly cooked. The flavor was not great either. There's nothing given as a side or sauce. There's bottles of ketchup on the tables but they looked not too appealing to use. Instead of napkins, you get Kleenex. While the food can be good. I would recommend ordering takeout from here. As a small business I wish nothing but the best and hope the owner cleans up the place more and improves the customer service.

I go there for the delicious Middle Eastern food, which, for a buffet, is amazingly fresh and tasty. It helps, of course, that the buffet is replenished frequently. If you have not been to the family-owned Mediterranean Cruise, the building itself is surprisingly large and impressive. I have pretty high standards for Greek/Mediterranean food, and it just doesn't stand out anymore. The pita has been dry, although the hummus is still solid. The platters are fine overall, but nothing particularly memorable. Service has also been a bit underwhelming recently compared to past visits. That said, the atmosphere is still a highlight. The space feels very authentic with all the decor, and the belly dancers are always a fun touch. The patio is also nice if you're able to sit outside.
