I ended up here while I was in the area for business over the holidays (unfortunately), and I was pleasantly surprised to find them open on New Year's Day - which I was very thankful for. I initially misunderstood the concept and thought I was going to a ramen spot, but I'm really glad I stopped in anyway. I started with the roasted pork buns, which were excellent. The pork was incredibly tender, and the sauce was sweet without being overpowering. I also ordered the fried chicken wings (I can never say no to wings). The breading was a little heavier than my personal preference, but the flavor and tenderness were outstanding, so it didn't take away from my enjoyment. For my main dish, I went with their pork bone noodle soup - essentially their take on ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles had the perfect chewy texture. Super satisfying, especially on a cold day. The restaurant itself was clean, and the staff was very friendly. I also appreciated the small details - chili oil on the table and even the disposable chopsticks had a nice design, which I don't think I've seen before. My only minor gripe was parking. With nearby construction and being unfamiliar with the area, it was a bit confusing, and I ended up parking a few blocks away. I think parking might be available at the hotel that this restaurant is in, but I'm not 100% sure. Overall, if I lived in Rochester, this would definitely be a regular spot for me. Great food, thoughtful details, and worth the visit.

Service is friendly and the food comes out so quickly. Highly recommend this place for lunch. You find it by coming into the Kahler Inn & Suites across the street from the Charlton building of the Mayo Clinic. This place came recommended to us by friends who have been enjoying their lunch special which is Rice with several options on top. The prices are amazing at $10 and $12 . Lady We want the route of noodle soup because it's been cold outside. We had the braised beef noodle soup and the beef was so tender it came with bok choy and tomatoes. We also had the Steamed Pork Dumplings with Garlic Sauce $7 and was so happy to find the Jjiajiang Mein $14-- the wonderful black bean pork sauce noodle dish that is the number one comfort food in Korea. We order a pot of tea which was really good. Service was great and speedy .

Food was very filling and came out quick. Everything hit the spot including the hot and sour soup which comes with wonton strips. Can also get a free refill of the soup! Dumplings were good and braised beef was tender in the noodle soup! Service was especially great and the staff here are really kind! It's definitely a nice place to come in the cold and to get in a warm meal for the evening.

This review is only for the coconut cake…read more We pre-ordered cakes for Easter and when we went to pick them up there was a line out the door for people waiting to be seated. I was able to get right in to pick up the cakes. I honestly wasn't expecting much. The cake is amazing. The frosting is unique and not too sweet or heavy. The cake is light and flavorful. Something special. Don't miss out.

CAVEAT: This review is from a vegetarian's perspective…read more The Honker is a Rochester mainstay, and is popular amongst many hospital visitors and locals. Our family came here when we had relatives in the hospital decades ago. I came here with my wife and her older parents. The menu is very classic, old-school diner. My wife and I are both vegetarian. When you go in, you can pretty immediately see the demographic...and it's not necessarily young vegetarian couples! It's a buzzy atmosphere with many older customers. We were served quickly so no complaints there. They also have a clearly labeled vegetarian menu. We ordered the cheese curds -- no complaints. For our mains, we ordered a mushroom burger and a pilaf dish (I think it was Hawaiian)? These were...fine. Mediocre, but serviceable. Our carnivore family didn't seem too impressed by their food either. I will say that the portions are very generous. They also have great senior deals. I won't be coming back, but this is a preference thing rather than a comment on quality, especially when so many great vegetarian options are available in Rochester.

Prices are affordable and you get a lot of food. My husband had the Moby Dick burrito, which was huge. He devoured it. I had the lunch special, 2x quesoburria + salad. Soooo delicious, and I could only eat 1, all for a great, minimal price. Will def be back. My new favorite restaurant in Rochester. Go here!!!!

The food is Mexican fusion. Fusion with what?…read more Definitely with something Asian for some of the dishes. And something Barbecue. There may be other influences but those 3 in general cover a lot of styles, each on their own! My person and I shared 2 appetizers. We had Crunchy Wontons with birria (slow roasted beef in a red broth that is then shredded - similar to an American pulled pork in consistency). They had a layer of creamy coleslaw slaw dressing and a layer of corn salsa between the meet and the wonton. Since these were open-faced wantons this was important to keep the balance of each each Wonton 's flavors just right. Oh! The red sauce the meat was in was Kung-Fi Sauce. It was very flavored so in that sense spicy and for me any more of whatever brought the heat might be too much, but this certainly was Master sauce. Steak Fries was the other appetizer. A play on words. French Fries ... extra long, well fried to hold up to the steak toppings and not at all oily. In addition to steak there was guacamole, and another sauce. Huh, I was so dazzled by the excellent steak I can't think of the other ingredients beyond guacamole.. I did end up using a fork to make sure that I got everything onboard the fries But they supplied the forks. I stayed at the Homewood Suites and ordered delivery through Grub Hub. They promised our meal would be there between 17:35 and 17:55. But it arrived at exactly 17:30 t may be relevant to someone to know that my taste buds are very sensitive to any red pepper flakes They cause me to cough whether the finished product tastes spicy or not. I had no problems with any.of their food! Unfortunately, I cannot answer any questions about the restaurant or employees but the food was awesome and timely. They handled special requests like the best of the professionals!
