Had a late lunch so was looking for something light. Location is great ... sits by the river so you can enjoy your meal outdoors. Very serene and relaxing. The menu has a lot of variety, though I was hoping for an entree salad with a protein add on. Ordered the Santorini pork appetizer which is a delicious stew with generous amounts of tender pork with peppers and onions. Very very tasty. Bar for hen parties. We went on Saturday, with four separate bride to be's and their groups moving between the bar and the restaurant tables. Blaring music, very drunk people, throwing plates. If you are looking for a more "party-atmosphere," this would be your place as the speakers were blasting quite loudly and their beverage list (which focuses on cocktails and shots) is quite lengthy. Dessert list was just as long which makes me think groups of people who want to stay up late in a sleepy town might enjoy it. As for a dinner option, it fell short. The eggplant (called an "aubergine" in London) appetizer had a crazy cheese sauce on it that just became rubbery after a few moments. The zucchini and cheese fritter was tastier, but didn't have a crunchy enough exterior so it broke apart pretty easily. Baklava had the flaky crust and nuts with the right amount of cinnamon and other spices, but the bottom was a bit burnt. read more

I have been to Opa 3 times now, once to eat and drink the other times to socialise in the bar with a few drinks. 4 of us ate when we dined there, my food was not that great but it could have been down to that particular dish as nobody else in our group had any problems with their food and enjoyed it. The place itself is lovely, really classy i felt. Good use of the space they have and the lighting effects were a nice touch. The outside area is nice along the river. The only problem i have with this place is that it gets sooo busy at weekends. It really does get packed, especially outside by the river on a nice warm evening. There is not much room to move to be honest. As this place is so nice it really deserves a visit, i would suggest getting here early and enjoy the surroundings rather than push through the crowd, then later head off somewhere else. read more

Hmm, this place divides opinion quite easily. On the one hand, it's a really cool layout, with lots of alcoves and a wicked outside area overlooking the river, and on the other, it's pretty shoddy in terms of food and drink, plus the music played here at night is loud (stopping you from talking) and bad (stopping you from dancing, too). Plus, it's fairly out of the way and pretty much hidden unless you know where you're going, which can be a good thing (only people in the know head there), but evidently bad for business. We were at Opa a few weeks ago when we were in Bath. We had a beer by the river it was such a beautiful setting. Then we had lunch my husband had the lamb it was incredible the sauce was super light and complimented the lamb perfectly. We shared the Greek salad, hummus appetizer and octopus dish. Quite recently opened in Bath in the last couple of years, Opa is a great new alternative for a night out. It's a Greek restaurant serving really tasty dishes there is so much choice you'll be deciding for hours but that's ok because Opa has a late license and past about 11pm turns into more of a late night bar and club than a restaurant. Very chilled out with a makeshift dancefloor between the tables everyone has a good time just sitting and chatting or dancing the night away. There is also an outside area right by the canal which is lovely on a summers evening. read more

Service was good but the food was mediocre. The Greek salad and fried cheese were the highlight and the smoked squid had good texture but the lamb was a bit over cooked and didn't have much meat, leaving something to be desired. read more

Opa was simply a great experience. The menu had a very good selection, the meals were tremendous and the staff were extremely welcoming. The atmosphere was fantastic, and a great location on the Avon. Highly recommend anyone to have a meal here. read more

The food here is great. I have eaten here on a number of occasions and enjoyed everything, from the meze selection to a joint of roasted beef and gravy for a christmas party. Later on they usually have some traditional greek plate smashing which seems to signify that it is now time to dance! The tables are cleared out of the way and it turns into a good little club. The outside area is really nice in the summer, right by the river. Good for smokers. It is also sheltered for the rainy winter time. Would recommend. read more
