The building itself is lovely - one of the oldest in Weston - and it's been turned into a restaurant pretty sympathetically, even if the tables are a little crammed in to make the most of numbers. There are fascinating photos of the history within the wider Weston context over all the walls. It's just a shame that the food verges on the mediocre. They do a reasonably priced set lunch menu, though the dishes are all uninspiring and predictable - and laminated menus are always a bit off-putting. It's definitely worth looking at their specials board, as that's where the more interesting food seems to lurk, though I had a slightly weird combination of apples and scallops which didn't quite work. And it's expensive too - their 'sharing' mezze platter was £18-ish, small and bland. The non-set-menu mains are all in the mid to high teens, which just seems a lot for the kind of food you'd expect in a basic pub.
