The second, stupider and my preferred method, is to drive passed a place, say "I've never eaten that kind of food before. Let's go there tomorrow!" and refuse to hear any arguement on the subject. What this lacks in common sense, it more than makes up for in excitement. You may wander into a restaurant and having one of the best eating experiences of you life! Or you may have chosen to eat at a poorly advertised dry cleaners, and end up embarrassing your girlfriend and the owners of the establishment. Normally though, my method serves me well more often than not. Aphrodite was one of the occasions when it didn't so much. I found the food a little bland and uninspiring. However, I have since discovered that it may be because I don't like Greek food. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great though, so if Greek cuisine is more your thing, you'll have a great time.

Adonis is essentially seen as sexy these days... which is hardly surprising considering his union with Aphrodite. So, the fact that this terrible proper Halal takeaway bares his name, makes my smile every time I see it! It's fair to say that City Road is awash with kebab houses these days, all vying for diminishing business, but this is one of the better ones. Not only is it far superior in appearance than some, the quality of the food is streets ahead, placing it in the top bracket for the area... and that's some achievement amid such fierce competition. They are certainly not the cheapest fast food outlet on City Road, but I believe that it is worth paying for quality. I recommend that you dig a little deeper in your pocket the next time you venture onto City Road for a takeout, and give Adonis Kebab House a try. You won't be disappointed.
