If not, I'll sum it up quickly: it's pizza, and the business is quite successful, so it must taste quite nice at least. I've always found this Pizza Hut on St. Mary's Street to be quite soulless. With Pizza Express next door looking all pristine and polished, sneering at poor greasy Pizza Hut, you kind of get the impression that this Pizza Hut is standing on its tiptoes to try and look as impressive as its neighbour. And it's kind of sad. I seem to have unnecessarily high demands for my fast food pizza joints (my last Pizza Hut review talked about intimacy, like I was reviewing the restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower, for crying out loud) but whilst the other Pizza Hut in the city centre is a unique and charming restaurant that plays to the strengths of its location, this is a restaurant that has lost its identity. Pizza Hut, listen closely. You're a fastfood restaurant for people who want to hang out and eat greasy pizza for low prices and have no pretensions towards classiness. So be that. Don't worry about the sneers of the Pizza Express crowd; they're all dead inside anyway. You've got soul, Pizza Hut. You've got heart. You don't need to slick your hair back and charm the punters with your fancy clean windows. You've got personality to do that for you.

The all you can eat buffet offer is a great incentive to visit, but if you happen to miss those times then they often have special offers on their site such as 2 for 1 and other savings. The service is consistent, but that doesn't mean it's quick. Sadly they always seem understaffed and overwhelmed which is a shame. If you've been to a Pizza Hut before then you'll know what to expect. If not then they offer reasonable pizza (amonst other things) at a fairly reasonable price. You can box up anything you can't finish and take it home with you. The advantage this branch has over the nearby Queen Street on is that there are far fewer steps upon entering. Here the main seating area is just above ground level, with a raised area towards the back. The toilets however are downstairs which is a bit of a trek. But on the whole it's not bad so long as you're not in a hurry.

There was a bt of a queue but the staff got through it in no time and before you know it I was on my train munching my triple decker sandwich and cheddar cheese and fancy onion crisps. Ok there are cheaper sandwich shops but they simply not as nice.

Then another age choosing juice. This store is in an incredibly handy location for anyone who commutes in and out of Cardiff Central, as it's right there in the station. It's also great as a place to stop into before going to Vue Cinemas; here you can get healthy and yummy snacks instead of salty cardboard hot dogs. In short; the food here is fantastic, if not cheap. Great for a healthy snack or treat, not so great for stocking up on basic before you head home (although, maybe if you're on a better wage then me, you'd be alright).

The formula a display of raw meats and fish from which you select and they are cooked in a variety of simple styles, mainly grilled is the same as The Brasserie/Le monde in the town centre or Caesars in Creigiau, and I suspect they are part of the same group. And that's the first problem: it feels like a chain run to a formula, albeit a successful and popular one. There is no feeling of individuality or the mark of a chef with any vision running the kitchen I started with Razor Clams. They were incredibly rubbery and gritty. Grit is simply inadequate attention to washing these shellfish, rubberiness I suspect is overcooking, as recipes for razor clams state no longer than 30 seconds. I had rack of lamb for the main course and the lamb was extremely tender. However, what looked like a simple herb crust had some other ingredient which gave an extremely pungent taste and overwhelmed the lamb. The dish of vegetables (an optional extra) was ordinary. I should report that my friends declared themselves happy with their food, but at the prices charged for my food, I couldn't give more than 3/5 for a meal that I could cook better myself. There are set lunch and dinner menus at a more reasonable cost. The wine list goes up to £500 and more per bottle. We had a white and a red from the more modest end of the list (at around £23) and both were fine. Service was friendly and efficient, though they did try and serve another table's order to us.

Well it serves traditional British dishes with a touch of flair and careful attention to detail. The staff are very friendly and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their modestly sized restaurant. There was nothing particularly wrong with the food but that's about it. I honestly think i could have coked better at home for a fifth of the price. The waiter had forgotten how to smile - which always taints my view on a place. What can I say it would have been unmemorable had I not had the misfortune to remember it.

Food wise its alright, nothing really outstanding though for the fairly high price and considering the amount of competition its just not quite up to scratch.
