I love it here. The situation of this restaurant is great, on the seafront. The food has always been good and the staff always friendly.

Great tasty food. Bit over priced for what you get though. Staff could be more cheerful and friendly. Nicely laid out restaurant very modern

Jj's Brasserie, Weston Super Mare…read more So once you get past all the chav's, the beeping of arcade machines, and the overexcited (over sugar fed) children (usually on excessive amounts of candy floss), you can find yourself some nice little eateries on the side streets of good old Weston. The landlady of the b&b we stayed at recommended this French place so we felt sure that, given she was a local, she would know what she was talking about. The front of house gentleman was indeed a gentleman. He was attentive, friendly, down to earth, and made us feel very welcome. To start we shared warm bread with a good quality, flavorsome olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Perfect to wet the whistle! The boy was really pleased with his sirloin steak (priced at £14.95) and said it was cooked perfectly. His chips were incredibly chunky and in my view, real steak chips. His English mustard was served to him on an amuse bouche spoon.. A nice little touch. My paella (again £14.95) was presented beautifully. It was filled with meat and seafood so had plenty going on texture-wise. My only complaint would be that it needed slightly more seasoning and maybe a good squeeze of lemon, but other than that it was really rather enjoyable.  I washed my meal down with a large bottle of sparkling San Pellogrino as I didnt fancy alcohol. This was served to me nice and cold; something so simple that so many eateries get wrong. The boy washed his steak down with a pint of Somerset's very own, Thatchers Gold. How very apt, given that we were in Somerset. :-) A really pleasant evening.

It's about a 15 minute drive from Chippenham itself. It is extremely popular with locals and tourists. There isn't a restaurant like it anywhere else unless you go out into Bath or Bristol? The cuisine is French, and is extremely good. I've eaten in a lot of nice restaurants in my time and this one is on my favourites list. It is here that I had one of the nicest racks of lamb I have ever eaten. Succulent and juicy it was cooked to perfection and not a scrap of meat was left on the bones. Their signature dish are their dauphinois potatoes. Again these are the nicest I have ever tasted. I have tried several times to replicate them myself bit can never do it. They are out of this world! Creamy and garlicky they are out of this world. The whole meal was just stunning. Completely out of this world I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. The restaurant itself is nothing too special, a very simple dining room that seats all diners comfortably without being on top of each other. It could do with better lighting and a bit more of a vibrant atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and you don't have to wait long for drinks or food. This is quite an expensive restaurant so it would be for most people a once a year treat unless of course you have pots of money and you can afford to eat there all the time? I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a venue for a very special occasion. They cater well for large groups and celebratory dinners. The food as I have said is fantastic so you won't be disappointed on that front. I shall definitely be making another reservation again in the future.

Very good food for a good price. Pleasant service and a lovely atmosphere. Relaxed and unrushed.read more

The owner and staff are so welcoming and always to hand with top ups of water, bread anything else that is needed both friendly but unobtrusive. The food varies from high end duck, veal, steak to filling peasant french dishes including amazing slow cooked belly of port and a huge cassoulet. Starters include frog legs and snails for the adventurous as well as delicious salads etc, I even tried a snail as you can order one on its own, I was pleasantly surprised by the garlicky potato surrounded snail and have since had a full portion. However room is essential for the desserts, they are amazing, I will post a photo of 'le chocolat', the egg shell contains a chocolate fondant then creme anglais and cream plus a mini delicious chocolate tart, white chocolate mousse and chocolate sorbet. Le vanille is a variation of mini vanilla desserts and so on, have a look at their website for more details. Delicious food and comfortable surroundings with great staff gets my top marks

I do remember the food being very good and one of my first experiences of proper food. Since the new owners took over, the standards have only gone up. They've kept their AA Rosette by sticking to good, locally sourced food done without too much fuss. I took my staff here for the annual post-Christmas meal. The place is favoured by older folk and the setting always reminds me of being in someone's lounge rather than a restaurant. The building is essentially just another old cottage in the village which has been converted into a restaurant, which brings it's own charm with low ceilings and exposed wood. It also comes across as fairly unpretentious. We chose from the set menu which was £25 or so for three courses. Nicely balanced menu, which is always good when you have a choice of 4 for each course - it makes decisions easy as well. The restaurant was fairly full by the time our food came, and the service was always pretty slick but relaxed enough for a Sunday lunch. Everyone enjoyed their meal, washed down with a few bottles of the house wine - a very respectable Sauvignon Blanc. In summary, a decent place. Probably slightly above the average in terms of cost for the area (especially for a village), but it's definitely worth it. Especially when you consider how many times I've paid that much and had a very average meal.

Daz was a grave digger in his home town of Wolverhampton before he decided to go to college. He was a devout anarchist, (even his bank account was simply in the name of Daz), and he was also mad about the Wolves. Back in the day Bully was their key goal scorer by miles, and has probably been canonised by the Wolverhampton Diocese, or what ever they do to make someone a saint! I will never forget returning home every day to find that the very expensive can of eggshell paint I had bought for painting the bathroom had been put to a more unconventional use. The name Bully had been daubed on every wall of every house up the street! Do you get my apprehension in visiting this particular establishment? And it's a shame, because Bully's is a lovely place! Expensive though! Definitely the kind of place you'd go when you're feeling flush, and there's a special someone to impress! I called in recently during the day, and was lucky enough to witness a wine tasting session (featured in the photos). A lot of work obviously goes into getting these things right... and not only that, you need to be educated in order to do just that. I don't know a great deal about wine, but one of my closest friends is a smellier. She tells me that you train for a couple of years, but that you are constantly learning new stuff, because things change all the time. In a nutshell, Bully's is an up market French restaurant, run by a husband and wife team, Russell and Vicky Bullimore, with a lot of knowledge, flair and fun. I don't agree with some of the options on the menu, foie gras for instance, and would never try the snails, but the food that I have been willing to order has been excellent. They've added some nice little touched to the place that will make you smile, and you can tel that they have really thought about it all. I recommend it for a special occasion where it would be apt to see off a fair amount of cash on a gastronomic delight.

Bit pricey but perfect for special occasions and a nice alternative to Le Gallois.

Inside, la Brasserie is kind of cosy but smart, with dark wooden furniture and jugs hanging from the beamed ceiling, and the menu offers European dishes with an emphasis on game and meat dishes. La Brasserie has a separate area outside called The Terrace, which is what this review is about. The Terrace is one of the many popular al fresco seating areas in this Mill Lane area of town, all of which get heaving with sun-seekers in the summer. It has a decent range of different wines, and its own separate menu with lunch from £7.95, including things like Caesar salad, grilled meat, and lighter bites - all tailored towards offering the type of food you want to eat when it's sunny. I've only eaten out at The Terrace (not inside La Brasserie), and the food there was pretty good, as was the wine - I'd recommend it for a lazy summer afternoon.

I came here for a works lunch, and it being the height of summer, we decided to bake outside at The Terrace. The best thing this place has going for its prime location for people watching. Admittedly, there aren't very many areas of Cardiff that beat Mill Lane for it. The food was sadly forgettable. I guess my hopes were set a bit high, but aren't everyone's? I, like Amanda, had barely finished my starter when the server came swooping around the corner with my main. The cuisine may be better in the main area of the restaurant, but to be honest, I'm not really in a hurry to find out.
