Thank you drink

An amazing Greek Restaurant tucked away in the markets around Bath. Seating is limited and there may be a wait at times. Nice cozy environment. The food is so good! Some of our favorites were Manitaria Nostima (Mushrooms), Melitzana (Baked Aubergines), Garides Saganaki (Prawns) and Chicken Giouvetsi. Great flavors and good portions! A good spot for some Authentic Greek food if you are around!

Gyros and meatballs

We stopped in after a long day of exploring Bath and ordered a starter, "Mama's Keftedakia" which were meatballs made of minced meat and bread. We also ordered a plate of Gyros with fries. This was more than enough food for two people and yet we couldn't finish it because the taste just wasn't all that. The service we received was fantastic and the girls working there were so sweet and helpful and I wish I could rate them higher but an eating establishment is about food first and we weren't in love with the food, sadly.

The warm pastry with custard filling and cinnamon with frosting sugar!

Definitely one of the most authentic Greek food places I've been to in a long time.

Same Same But Different was on my short list of places to visit for brunch during my trip to Bath;…read morefrom the rave reviews across every platform and the stunning food photos, I knew I had to check it out. The space itself has a hipster casual vibe, which is definitely a scene I'm comfortable in. Lots of wood and dark colors and fun light fixtures, there's even a few tables outside (but good luck snagging those during even remotely nice weather!). It's a relaxed atmosphere that's great for groups of friends, breakfast dates, or solo travelers looking to hide in a corner and study. If you're a fan of a bloody mary, definitely be sure to get one here! Unfortunately, in my opinion, both the food and the service were tremendously disappointing. I'll start with the former: I ordered the Vegetarian Breakfast that comes with a fried egg, grilled halloumi, mushrooms, baked beans, grilled tomato, spinach and hashbrowns. According to the menu, there's also unlimited toast and tea (or americano) when no substitutions, but neither of those options were apparently available to me. The food itself was plentiful, but unmemorable (and bland) compared to similar breakfasts I've had elsewhere. And the staff was, for lack of a kinder word, rude. Dismissive, too. It was actually the worst service I had during my entire trip, and it stinks when a place stands out for that, but that's what I'm gonna remember from SSBD.

Unpretentious atmosphere and incredible food. A lot of detail to textures and flavors, we really…read moreenjoyed our meal here. I got the Brie and Bacon sandwich and it was exceptional. Would recommend this place over and over againx

Tilleys Bistro - Appetite

Quick glance: + convenient location…read more+ cheap set menu for lunch + large venue + good portion size... - ... but food is nothing to shout about - service of variable quality I came here for a Saturday lunch after a tour around the Roman Baths partly because of its convenient location. Despite the hundreds of tourists milling about, we were seated at Tilleys promptly as there were many tables tucked away downstairs. The restaurant offered a cheap option for lunch, costing only £12.50 per person for two courses (or £15 for three courses). Some mains of the day ask for a £1 supplement, which is very reasonable. On the day we visited, for example, Tilleys had cod as well as lemon sole as a special, which attracted a supplement, as well as whiting at no additional cost. I found the waitress serving us to be slightly abrupt. When she told us about the special mains of the day, she briefly explained there was the whiting, the lemon sole with butter and lemon, and cod with parsley and butter, without elaborating, for example, that the whiting were breaded fillets or how the other fish were prepared. (It was only after we had ordered, I heard the other waitress explaining in more details about how the fish was prepared and served to our neighbouring table). When we ordered mains, which came with one side detailed on the menu as vegetable of the day, potato of the day, etc, we had to ask how the potato was prepared, and then prompted our waitress to tell us what the vegetable was. During our meal, our water jug was empty and our waitress came over to ask us if we wanted anything. Before I could say "more water please" she had already turned around and almost ready to dash. I would like to put this down to inexperience and ignorance rather than a rude service, but it did make for a disconcerted experience. The food itself was nothing to shout about. The starter was more visually appealing than the mains, and the fish I had (cod) and my partner ordered (whiting) was slightly overcooked, but still edible and we walked away full. It's a little darker in the basement, with a rather somber ambiance. The waitress who served us seemed a bit tired, and the food itself represents the height of British cuisine from the late 80s (Tilleys is a family-run restaurant founded in 1983). It's a good, cheap place for lunch, although I wouldn't classify it as cheerful.

Very relaxed and the food was delicious. Order the small plates so you get a taste of many. If you…read moreare confused just ask. Staff will help you with a smile.
