Excellent Italian restaurant and the best service we had all trip. As soon as we entered the restaurant we felt welcomed. The server was friendly and attentive. The pasta was homemade and very good. We were given an amuse bouche of parmesan foam that was very good. I had the gnocchi stuffed with pesto which was light and fluffy. We were given a shot of limoncello at the end of our meal. The entire staff was friendly and made our meal enjoyable. I hope I have the opportunity to return.

    Wonderful wine list!

It was really cool being in Beau Nash's home and the restaurant is in a gorgeous Georgian room.

It was pretty busy when we got there but luckily our group was small, three of us. We were seated on the 2nd floor which was pretty roomy and a bit warm but then again, we are in a pizzeria. I ended up ordering the La Bella Vita pizza which had mozzarella, pepperoni sausage, Italian salame, torn chicken breast, and bacon. It was delicious and the cheese was perfect and not too cheesy. The sauce on the pizza had a great taste that put it over the top, amazing. I paired it well with my Aperol Spritz and took in the views while eating. Our waitress was great and recommended some must see locations while we were in town. She was great. If I ever come back to Bath, I will definitely stop by again because there were some other menu items that caught my eye and plus, the service was great.

Shared one of their specialty pizzas (very tasty, only wish there'd been a bit more generous helpings of the meat topping, as not every slice had it), Caesar salad (big portion, perfect for sharing), and a sampler of their dipping sauces (for the crust -- so good!). They also brought out a pitcher of cold water for the table (an appreciated touch). Would recommend!

As we were making our way there leisurely, we came across Nonna's and the "2 meals for £9.95" appealed to us since we were on a budget so we went here instead. We were very happy with this decision. There weren't many people eating so we appreciated the quietness and the attentive service from the wait staff. They were very welcoming, pleasant and timely. My boyfriend and I both ordered a calamari as our app. He in particular was happy to have his own serving of calamari instead of sharing! I guess I don't blame him, I was happy as well :) The calamari was lightly breaded. The dip was very refreshing and paired well with the calamari. For his entree, he ordered the margherita. Our first thought was how big the pizza was! Since it was lunch and we were ordering from a special menu for this deal, we automatically assumed the portion would be small. But it wasn't at all! I didn't try the pizza but it looked very delicious. I ordered the cannelloni with ricotta and spinach instead. It came with three cannellonis. I personally felt there could've been a bit more stuffing, but the cheese and white sauce over top made up for it. It was a delicious meal and I would totally recommend it. It's not full of tourists and on the way to The Circle so after your meal, checking out the Circle would be a nice walk to shred the calories!

According to the owner of the B&B we stayed at, this restaurant is her favourite in Bath. It was a…read moreSunday, and most things in Bath are closed, so we thought we super lucked out that this place is open. Unfortunately, it was terrible luck. Maybe it was me and my love for seafood, as the food we ordered is terribly fishy tasting. We started with a bruschetta with octopus (polpo) and all you can smell is fish when the dish arrived - and of course it's all you can taste. For dinner, I got the seafood linguine in tomato and white wine sauce and my boyfriend got the beef ravioli. The good thing is that the linguini was not short of seafood, with shrimps, prawns, mussels, calamari, and octopus. The terrible part is that it all tasted like old fish. I tried my bf's ravioli and i thought it was pretty good, but he complained about it the entire time, saying it was not that good - and really, anything is probably pretty good compared to my fishy linguine. The service was odd too. We felt rushed despite there was no one in the restaurant, and the server kept trying to get us to order more food and didn't like the fact we didn't order wine (had to drive) or dessert (the starter and mains were too terrible for us to want to eat whatever else they had to offer). The bill was reasonable i suppose, at around 10-15 quid a dish. I wish this wasn't where i ate for the day of my bday.

Ciao Ciao - Frito misto of calamari prawns and fish cakes

Ciao Ciao is a great Italian restaurant next to the theatre in Bath…read more The menu was a great surprise of different Italian dishes with seasonal ingredients - beetroot and goat cheese tortellini, pan fried venison loin, butternut squash risotto - to name a few. A fabulous wine list completes the meal and they also have the option of a tasting menu if the a la carte menu has too much choice! We decided to share some pasta dishes rather than having a whole extra pasta course each and boy was I full! But it was totally worth it for the afore mentioned butternut squash and scallop risotto and beetroot goats cheese tortellini. Starters were a little more hit and miss with the calamari being joined by prawns and fish cakes - just more calamari would have satisfied my dad! The arancini was interesting with pâté and a quails egg in the middle, served with a Parmesan sauce it looked like a large scotch egg! For mains we stuck to red meat - the pan fried venison loin, the beef fillet and the special venison stew with polenta. These were washed down with a tannic Barolo - a magnum (we do drink a lot, but there were six of us!) - which went amazingly well with the venison. For dessert I requested a spoon - to help myself to everyone else's! Liz had the tiramisu - beautifully presented with flowers on top, and Simon & Sarah went for the chocolate and pear tart. This was more like a brownie with half pear pieces set in it. Coffee and some lovely and smooth ages grappa finished off the meal. We were also offered some complimentary homemade limoncello before we left. We enjoyed ourselves for this meal - the only negative was that the staff weren't so attentive - several times we had to wave to order or request more drinks or the bill, which should have been anticipated! But in general we were satisfied and those who live in the area will be back again!

Funny and friendly staff, gorgeous space, and, most importanly, amazing food and wine. My husband's choice to do the tasting menu meant we were there for hours. The staff kept bringing me surprise treats to keep me entertained as he worked through the courses. I don't know if all the desserts we ate were part of the tasting menu or just extras thrown in but each one we tried was better than the last. At the end of the evening the waiter even got out his phone to show us how to wander back to our hotel. They handle nearby theater traffic so it may be a good idea to book in advance.
