Absolutely delicious food here. I am a hardened crusty somewhat sardonic old Californian. I rarely…read moregive a business a 5 star Yelp rating. Well, the dinner tonight turned me into a romantic gushing girl who experienced delight with the meal here. Bambie, the wife, and I ordered the 3 course prix fixe meals. There are several choices on that menu. We're dining here on a Monday evening. Normally one does not expect the 'A' team to be on duty. But, my god, the meal I just ate was one of the best I've been fortunate to consume in ages. Quick details: Gazpacho, fresh as a summer garden. Spring pea pate delightfully minty and wonderfully rich. Onglet steak as good or better than any I've eaten anywhere in France. Perfectly sautéed sea bream fillet tasted like it was fished from the sea this morning. Pomme frites, creamy and crisp. Panna cotta and espresso that would make an Italian swoon with pleasure. Hey wait, I'm Italian - yes, I swooned. Top drawer on every aspect. Here's the kicker. The 3 course prix fixe dinner costs £18!!!! Wine by the glass is the good stuff. Certainly better than any and all that I've had in the past fortnight while driving around the UK, eating in both very good to mediocre restaurants. 250ml glasses priced from £5.50 to £ 8.25. Okay, I sense that you are skeptical.. "Not possible, truly well made delicious meal from organic sources in Bath, England at bargain basement prices?" Yep, miracles sometimes happen. Experiences like this make me release my customary cynicism for a while. Tonight, I'm so glad that it happened. Wish that it would occur more often. Table service: friendly, humanly authentic, efficient. Dining room ambiance: euro cafe. Casual, nicely decorated. Perfect for a family dinner or a romantic date. I LOVE THIS BISTRO. I hope to remember the pleasure it brought me tonight for the remainder of my life. Note: As of this date I have written over 1720 Yelp reviews since 2006. It is probably the most florid and ridiculous. And it is 100% sincere. If you are within 100 miles of Bath England, make an effort to eat dinner here. 48 hour advance reservations mandatory.

The service was wonderful and the staff were really friendly. It's a fairly small place but the ambiance was lovely and warm. We would definitely eat here again.

Le Parisien - Strawberry tart

Having revisited it recently, it hasn't changed a whole lot and honestly I think it is looking a bit tired. The awnings and the interior in particular feel like they've never changed, and not in a good way. However, it was a lovely sunny day, and Le Parisien has a good sized courtyard to its front, which made it a good place to go for a pot of tea or a lunchtime drink. I got a strawberry tart, which looked good. It was slightly too custardy, but pretty good and I'd be willing to sit there again- as long as it was outside! It's neither cheap nor expensive- the tart itself was just under £3, which seems about normal to me.

It can be accessed via a shopping arcade off Milsom Street, or entering Shires Yard off of Broad Street. The restaurant has seating in the courtyard, some sheltered under awnings and umbrellas. The inside restaurant space is in 2 buildings next to each other, with 2 floors of seating available. The French menu has a range of homemade specials, soups, sandwiches and hot meals and desserts. They do a range of coffees and other drinks. It's very much like cafes found in France, and the food is good quality. I've never had anything there I didn't like. And, I've been happy to take friends here for lunch too.
