One of the things I taught my kids while they were growing up was avoid chain restaurants whenever possible; cool places like Opa are the reason. Opa is a small, family-owned, family-run restaurant, you can tell. I randomly stopped in on a Saturday afternoon & had a gyro and a beer. The food was outstanding. Opa is in a strip mall in Parker and a very casual environment. It was mid-afternoon, so service wasn't being put to the test, but it was friendly & fast. Just like the name, it is Greek and American food and yes, dont expect too much of Greek specialty. Gyro sandwich that came with fries were ok. Could had the same thing at Gyroz for lot cheaper. OMG! This place is delicious. I hardly recommend Opa. As an appetizer, we had Saganaki, a Greek cheese flamed with brandy, followed by Pastitsio (Greek lasagna) and the Athenian Veggie combo. Opa provided a fantastic spread for a gathering at our house recently and everything was outstanding. This is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in the entire metro area. This was one of the best Greek restaurants I've ever been to! Everything was delicious and the pita bread was the best I've ever had. We ordered the gyro and the chicken sandwiches and they were amazing! The meat on both sandwiches was cooked perfectly and the tzatziki sauce was delicious. This was our first time. Service was great! We ordered the lasagna w/ a side of lamb meat & gyro w/ salad. The lasagna came with a side order of soup which was the a lemon chicken which was very flavorful. The lamb meat was flavorful as well. Most places you go it's on the bland side. Some of the worst slop I have ever been served. Ordered the Gyro platter. The meat was like ground meat with type of dry rubber casing. My best guest is that it stayed on the flame side too long. When I mentioned to our waitress "oh that is how comes". She also said I should of told her sooner. Well all she did was take our order and give us our check. There was no check back. I love this place! Me and The Hubs order takeout for dinner about every other week. The food is very good. The portions are very generous (often have leftovers for lunch the next day) and are well-packaged. And our order has always been correct. So far we've had: Loukaniko Dolmades Tzatziki Skordalia Greek Salad Traditional Greek Salad Pastitsio Dinner Moussaka Dinner Opa Combo Chicken Kabob Dinner Pork Kabob Dinner Baklava (fabulous, btw) When I call our orders in, the person who answers has been friendly and always repeats the order back (might be why our orders are always correct!). I generally call on Friday nights, and, so far, our order has been ready in 10-15 minutes. Keep that in mind when you're trying to get other takeout or delivery on a weekend! read more

Pretty bland food, most seemed to be warmed over. Wife had a fish dinner with fish sticks that would have been right at home in a fast food place. 1/2 of the food was left on table. Gyro meat was highlight of meal. Vegetables were kind of a soggy mess. Pastitsio and moussaka tasted a little old and watery from being reheated. Prices were high for the quality of the food. My hubby and I love Greek food. Sadly, our favorite Greek restaurant, The Athenian, is in Aurora. Sometimes we don't feel like making that drive from the Southern burbs where we live, so we decided to check out The Opa Grill in Parker that is much closer to us. We arrived about 12:30 after church on a Sunday, and the place was pretty busy, but we were seated immediately. I ordered the Lemon Chicken Rice soup to start and it was very delicious. For my entree I ordered the Pastitsio (Greek lasagna) which was also delicious, I could really taste the cinnamon in it and the Bechamel sauce was rich and creamy. I also got a side of pita bread. My Hubby ordered the Gyro Sandwich with a Greek Salad as a side. He enjoyed his Gyro very much but did note that the Gyro meat was somewhat greasy. However, that did not stop him from eating every bite. Service was great and we enjoyed it very much. We still prefer The Athenian, but this is a great option when and if we don't feel like driving to Aurora to eat. read more

My family came here last Saturday for my dad's birthday and we were all very impressed! I don't remember our waitress' name but she was very nice. Service was prompt and courteous despite almost every table being occupied. The food came out far more quickly than I had expected! I will say that throughout the meal, the noise level was high and we all had to talk very loudly to hear each other. This was due to the fact that the restaurant isn't huge, and it was a very busy Saturday night, and isn't any fault of the restaurant. I just thought that I would point it out in case you are reading this review and hoping to have a long, quiet conversation - it would be difficult here, at least on weekend nights. I had the Greek combo, which was a piece of spanikopita, gyros meat with onions and tomatoes, veggies, rice, as well as pita and tzatziki for the whole table. All of their dinners also come with a side Greek salad, which was also delicious. Everything was so tasty. They had generous portions, which are definitely enough to feed a very hungry person but not so big that you have food left over for days. It was obvious that the pita was homemade and just out of the oven, and our table made quick work of the generous plate that they gave us. Pretty good little restaurant. We all had the salad , 2 of us had gyro meat and the other the chicken I will say, they are super generous with their meat portions! The gyro meat was wonderful. The pita bread and tsaziki (I'm pretty sure that's not spelled right) was a great addition. I don't go to many Greek restaurants so I don't have much to compare this to. Here is why I only have this place 3 stars: I arrived about 10 minutes early because we were coming here for a quick lunch meeting. They told me it was a 15 minute wait. I waited, they called my name, then told me they only seat complete parties. When the other two arrived and our party was complete, they told me it would now be another 15 minutes! I just think that's ridiculous. I'm sure they have their reasons, but they need to tell people they won't seat seat complete parties, because who does this at a small restaurant at lunch? Fortunately the manager/ owner came up and got us seated pretty quickly, but they need to have a San that says they won't seat incomplete parties, becausethats really unusual for lunch. I wanted to arrive early to have a place to sit for a business meeting, but instead I had to wait in the cold entrance. So while the food was good and the service was quick, this experience overshadowed my overall experience. read more

Very decent Greek cuisine here, if our experience is at all typical. Excellent Greek salads (others are right to point this out: absolutely perfect), very good entrees (Greek Combo, Pork Kebabs) with tasty veggies and rice. Service (Michelle) was prompt, professional and friendly. We attempted to bookend our meal which started so well with their salads, with their baklava, and, if not a home run, it's at least a double: not as flaky as the best, but double also in size compared to the usual morsel. So . . . Very enjoyable, and good value. It's a bit noisy, with hard surfaces everywhere, but that's my only quibble. We've dined at Greek restaurants from San Francisco to the 'burbs, and say give 'em a try. Oh, yeah, they have a pretty good, if compact, wine list. No Nemea, but Retsina and other Greek and Barbarian (non-Greek) choices. read more
