Always tasty. Great servers and efficient kitchen. Light music with some nifty decorations. It still remains one of our favorites for tasty food and reliable service.

I recently ate at Opa for the first time and was happy to experience another good Greek food option. I ordered the combo platter that literally has one of each of the main items they serve here for dinner. Its got Patistios, Dolamides, Mousaka, Gyros, Spinokapita potatoes pita green beans and tice. Wow thats a lot. I was only able to eat the green beans Spinokapita and half my gyros while there as it is a lot of food count on leftovers. Its a good deal though at $28 for what is probably three meals for me. The gyros are thicker cut and tasted good on the pita with the Tzakiti sauce. The service was fairly quick and attentive checking back in on us during our visit. I asked for take home container to box up my leftovers and hade more gyros and rice for lunch and still have more left for another meal amazing. Will be back to try other greek delights as its one of my favorite cusisines.

We went early on a weekday so we were the only customers. Service was good. Good Mediterranean food. I would recommend.

We met here for a Saturday family lunch. They are always so friendly and welcoming. They menu is quite large with many good choices. I chose the Greek salad with a gyro pita sandwich. It was delicious and saved me from making my own gyro. The flaming cheese Saganaki is a must have to start the meal. Portions are plentiful and filling but we couldn't resist getting some of their desserts for carryout. They are delicious.

This is the go-to place for Greek food on the west side. The place was packed on Thursday night. They were also doing a huge amount of carryout. They have the process down to a science. There's a separate line for placing carryout orders with 2 people - 1 takes your order and then you move down and pay the cashier.

First off, I love the flaming cheese. It is a must have and there's usually a coupon somewhere in any flyer to get that if you buy an entree. The food comes out fast and hot. The only disappointing thing is that they now charge a 4% credit card fee so if possible I recommend bringing cash. This is definitely new. . There is plenty of seating for large groups or small. They even have a bar area to order specialty cocktails that look delicious. The staff is usually attentive as long as they're not too busy . One of the other disappointing things was, I asked for a side of ranch to dip my fries and and I got this packet of ranch, which was separated even after I shook it up. I recommend bringing your own next time.

3.5! Opa is an older restaurant located at the far west end of Rockville Rd. We visited late afternoon on a Wednesday. The restaurant was partially empty and we had attentive service. I got the spicy feta shrimp pasta and thought it was just okay. I then asked for the lemony Alfredo sauce and poured it over the top. It gave it a little more flavor. I boxed it up for a to go and I can say it was better the next day. My sister tried the chicken gyro amd thought it was okay as well. Overall it was okay and we might go back and try something else. I can say as we sat in the restaurant it began to fill up with several larger parties. Check it out and tell us what you think.

We stopped here for an early dinner on a Thursday, got to sit outside on a sunny evening. Had great service, the food was awesome and will definitely be going back.

When you walk into OPA you feel like you're in Greece in a quaint cafe. It took us a while to be seated and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Once we were seated the server was nice and willing to answer questions. I ordered the chicken gyro and fries. The tzatziki sauce was good. The chicken could use more seasoning. The fries were nice and crisp. I will give this restaurant another try and maybe order the flaming cheese because that looked to be a hot item on the menu as all the tables around us had it.

We have past this place several times and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The Greek salad was pretty good. It is not my go to salad by far but I had zero complaints about it. The gyros meat platter was absolutely delicious. It is hard in America to replicate an authentic gyro but this restaurant gets it pretty close. My wife had the chicken gyro platter and we both left with full bellies! The restaurant is very relaxing, even for a Friday evening it was just a relaxed crowd and great ambiance. The price point is perfect for what you are getting. If you like or are wanting to try Greek food on the west side, this is a definite stop for you!

OPA! Is one of my favorite places in Avon. I've been there several times and the outcome is the same. Amazing food, great service and Ambiance and decor to make you feel closer to Greece. So, this time we had the flaming saganaki as appetizer and it was delicious it came out fast and of course very hot. My chicken breast platter was UNBELIEVABLE everything was so tasty and I additionally had the pork tenderloin that was just as good. Definitely recommend! I was there for lunch, so it wasn't as packed, but for dinner it normally is, even during weekdays. However, I've never had any issues finding parking right outside of the restaurant. I had the tiramisu and it was veeery good, but also check out the cake options they have. I've loved the ones I've tried so far!

Amazing and affordable Greek food! We started with the saganaki which was fun to watch them light it up, and tasted really good. My entree was the chicken gyro which was only ~$15 and came with chips, but upgrading to the fries was worth it (so crispy!). The chicken in the gyro was really flavorful and I loved how they loaded the sandwich with tzatziki sauce. The vibes here are great as well, the walls are painted to look like Santorini which was so beautiful. Overall a great experience!

Came to Opa with some friends for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. The minute I walked in I couldn't help but feel like I had been transported to Santorini with all of the decor. The ambiance felt so warm and inviting. As we quickly took our seats I was very happy with the service as our waiter was quite prompt and attentive. We decided to get the Flaming Saganaki as a starter for the day experience and I ordered a gyro. The Saganaki was definitely an experience and equally delicious (cheesy and lemony all at the same time!) The gyro was very tender and I appreciate that the server brought us garlic sauce on the side for it. Food was delicious, service was great, and the ambiance was very nice. Will definitely be back to try more items off of the menu!

    Ask the Community - OPA!

Are reservations required on a Thursday?

We've never had to get reservations. But we've only had a party size of 4-5 at most. You might call ahead if you're having a larger group.

Are they open lunch on Saturday?

Yes, all week and weekends! It's great food!

What kind of cheese is used for saganaki?

Kasseri (Greek ; or in Turkish kaşer, kaşar) is a medium-hard pale yellow cheese made from unpasteurized sheep milk with very little, if any, goat's milk mixed in. The cheese is found in Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey. An alternative way of making the… Read more

Located in a cute blue house, this is conveniently located near Lucas Oil Stadium and there was a huge concert going on the night we were there, but we were still allowed to park in their parking area. Inside has nice lighting and is pretty plain but has a homey feel. The menu contains many items we're familiar with having visited Greece twice. So I'm going to be a little critical here with my review of the food. I ordered the Greek Spaghetti, which I have had in Greece. Unfortunately this was not at all what I was expecting or anything like Greek spaghetti. What I was served was basically Prego spaghetti sauce with pieces of gyro in it. Traditional Greek spaghetti (or Makaronia me Kima) is a wonderful sauce that's seasoned with all kinds of memorable spices. It's definitely not pieces of gyro meat thrown in a sauce. So while this was fine, it was not what I truly wanted or thought I was getting so I was pretty disappointed. My husband got the chicken souvlaki and that was better but still not quite like what I remember. The meat was almost smoked and lacked some of the Greek spices that gives it a distinct taste. And the tzatziki...well, let's just say it tastes like whipped feta and was lacking in flavor too. I did enjoy the pita bread. Our service was underwhelming as well. It took a while for anyone to notice we were there and needed to be seated and the server basically did the bare minimum, never even asking if we wanted our water refilled. Overall, it was fine. If I had never been to Greece, I may have a different opinion but this isn't someplace I really want to go back to.

The entire place is covered with the evil eye charms, so you should definitely be safe here. I highly recommend reservations because they sure get busy. And while the ambiance is great, you really cannot linger for long, as there are usually folks waiting to get a seat. The menu is quite extensive and offers plenty for carnivores and vegetarians alike. I opted for the Iskender, which is crisp pita bread pieces topped with meat slices, all of it doused in a savory tomato based sauce and topped with dollops of yoghurt. The bread has little crisp edges and together with the meat and toppings gives you like a mini sandwich in your mouth. Simply delicious. The Turkish spices bring a wonderful flavor to the dish. I highly recommend it. Hat to admit it, but I have not been too impressed with the tzaziki on previous visits. It was somewhat runny and bland, but I haven't had in a while. Street parking is limited, but in the summer there is a gravel lot on the side of the neighboring building. However when it snows, parking can be a bit of a problem, so be aware.
