I've been to salons for ages and even when you frequent a salon for years, sometimes you still feel like a stranger when you walk through the door...well, not here! Donna H. brought me here when I moved to town, and I haven't been anywhere since. I've only ever come in for manicures, but I'm sure when it warms up I'll be having them do my toes as well. Cute place owned by a really awesome couple. Super nice, super friendly. I make appointments if I'm on a time crunch, but walk-ins work, too. On a busy Saturday I only waited about 10 minutes. Lots of color choices, gel and regular polish. My nails aren't fake so I can't speak on that. I've always had the wife do my nails, she's my favorite. I had another woman on the weekend once and she was too rough, cut my cuticle. I'll be requesting my usual next time. read more

Today was my first day trying this place. I'm from sacramento on vacation and I was in desperate need of getting my nails done! I stopped in and they were very nice and welcoming. I already had a French gel nail fine and I needed them redone. I had Lilly do my nails and she was very sweet and paid close attention to detail. Also when I had come in I had chipped my big toe nail while traveling. They were so nice and touched it up for free. Walked in and was excited to try a new place. Let them know that I wanted new dip full set and they tried to tell me that it was bad for my nails and I should get shellac instead and that shellac would last a year. First off, wish that were true but there's no way. The guy in the shop was persistent and kept saying dip was bad for my nails. I told him that I prefer dip because I've been getting it for the past 3 years and it's kept my natural nails long and strong. So already, I went from being excited to trying a salon I hadn't been to, to annoyed and ready to leave. Thanked them for their time and went on my merry way. Would not recommend this salon and they have a very limited selection for colors on dip/sns. Took my business to Texas Nail Salon instead. read more

I went there for a manicure. The nail polish I picked was ridiculously chunky, they painted my nails with it anyway. It looked like shit I'm not even gonna lie, there was a ridiculous amount of polish on my nail and it was all bumpy and before I even left two of my nails were already messed up from where the paint wouldn't dry. It was a mess. I showed up to work with the worst nail polish job I've ever had. I went back the next day to see if they could fix it and they just started putting more polish on. I finally just told them to take it off and that I wanted shellac so it wouldn't smear. That's when they actually fixed my nails. Paid for a manicure and shellac. It's hands down one of the worst nail places I've been to in town. read more

Love this place, been coming regularly for a year. Tried 3 other salons before sticking with this one. Husband & wife owners, the husband does fantastic work and is quite sociable. His wife is a lovely and quiet person but she does talk to you; her work is good too. You can usually walk in w/ no wait before 3pm. Schedule an appt if after that. They have 2 TVs - 4 mani tables & 5 pedi chairs. Prices are extremely reasonable. Since I started coming here the store has really grown, they went from 10 gel colors to over 100. They are current in trends and will do whatever you ask, to the best of their ability. Never been disappointed! They offer waxing too, never done it though. read more

I'm not sure why this place has such a low rating. My nails were done very nicely. Tech did exactly what I asked. She was even able to make my " funky" nail normal. Techs all spoke Vietnamese just like most of the salons but they always tried to include the patrons in on the conversation. read more

I called ahead of time to confirm they do dip. They said yes, so I scheduled an appointment for a dip manicure and a pedicure. As soon as I got there they started trying to convince me to get shellac with gel on top. I don't like gel and have been getting dip for years. They finally gave up trying to change my mind. I also mentioned wanting coffin. $5 extra for taking off my prior dip and $5 extra for coffin. During this conversation my nail tech started taking my prior dip off. She cut my nails without asking how short I wanted them. I noticed after she had cut off a nail already, so I just let it be. She put a double bowl of remover and warm water for me to put my hands in. She placed on my lap during my pedi and the water spilled all over my lap and pregnant belly. The pedicure was fine though. My dip manicure on the other hand was not. My nails were now too short to get coffin, so that was out the window. She assumed I wanted fake tips, so that may be why she didn't ask how short to cut my nails. My nail tech started doing things I've never seen done before with a dip manicure. She was almost experimenting until she found a method that worked. She removed some of the nails that didn't work out for her with a paper towel and drill. Soooo it was a bit obvious that she wasn't 100% sure of what she was doing. I finally had to stop her and ask her to just put a clear top coat instead of doing the dip. I felt bad, but wasn't willing to wait to see what the end product was going to come out like. At this point she had to drill my nails again and was rushing to get me out of the salon. I felt the tension and frustration on my nails. I was charged $45 for all that was done. Left the salon with a wet shirt, wet pants, and sore hands. Guess I should've let them convince me to get shellac with a gel top coat lol. read more

Service and everything was fine until we went to check out. They refused to accept the Yelp deal we purchased online and demanded payment on the spot. Had to get the police involved, and Yelp does not answer the phone. Had we been able to reach Yelp, we probably could have settled it without police. At least Groupon answers the phone. I am in town for a couple of weeks and searched the net for a good nail salon and found the reviews on Yelp very informative. I decided to try it out after reading a few of them. I was needing a mani and pedi badly and they were open till 8 pm (Wednesday) so I headed there after work around 6. The staff was very friendly when I walked in and I was seated in the pedi chair within minutes of arriving even though I did not have an appointment. Jennifer helped me and she was GREAT! Very friendly! She took her time and was very thorough with my pedi and mani! I got the deluxe pedi ($35) and it was amazing! I just got a basic mani with clear polish but it was very well done! I've been to many salons all over the world (military) and can definitely say I received the best service here. The only downside is that I don't live in San Antonio so I can't come here regularly! Many salons don't give you your money's worth in the services you receive so I was very pleased that I was so well taken care of even though I am not a regular. The most well spent $45 for any mani/pedi I've ever gotten! I will definitely be back if I'm ever in town again. Thank you Jennifer and OPI! read more
