I called Big Apple Mold Removal over concerns about mold in my window AC unit. Instead of…read moreimmediately charging me to come inspect, they asked me to send a picture/video to assess. They called me right after to confirm it was mold and explained that a professional assessment would likely cost as much as or more than a new unit. They were so kind to let me ask additional questions and help out without any extra cost. I've now purchased a replacement unit instead of spending what ultimately could have been double, and really appreciate the help they provided!

I…read moreunfortunately didn't catch the inspector's name, but he was amazing and looked over my kitchen and bathroom where I've been dealing with persistent leaks from an upstairs neighbor and shoddily done repairs by my property manager's "mold guys". He identified areas of moisture that I wasn't aware of and took his time making sure everything was looked over. He also took samples I requested. He was great and so nice and explained everything in so much detail! I don't have the report yet since it was just done last night but just wanted to let his team know he was great!

Prime Mold Removal did an outstanding job fixing my basement…read more Mold was removed from the walls of the basement, replaced insulation, drywall and painted. Then they installed vinyl floor planks over the existing floor. Mike and Shimon were very professional, reliable and committed to doing the job right. They were transparent about costs, clearly explaining the work with detailed invoices outlining the work and associated fees. They arrived on time and maintained a clean and organized workspace. They provided ongoing progress of the job with text messages and photos. Work was done meticulously and efficiently and with care. Shimon was especially conscientious and attentive to detail. Any minor changes, questions or concerns were addressed, adjustments thoroughly resolved. The craftsmanship was evident in the quality of the finished result: the insulation, new walls, painting and the vinyl floor planks they installed looked as if they were always there. Their work helped transform the appearance of the dingy dank basement and now, a light, clean open space. It resembles a model showroom! I 'm extremely grateful to Mike and Shimon for their expertise, honesty, attention to detail and commitment to quality. I highly recommend Prime Mold Removal-they are outstanding and make the entire process smooth and the physical results beautiful. Thank you Mike and Shimon! These are the people you want for your contracting needs!

After dealing with kitchen damage, I realized the actual repair part was only half the battle. The…read moreinsurance side of everything was honestly more overwhelming than the damage itself. Every phone call felt like I was speaking a different language and I had no idea what was actually covered versus what I was being told. Finding NYTDR completely changed that experience for me. What I appreciated most was that they approached the situation like people who actually understand how stressful it is to have your home disrupted, not just like another construction job. They caught things in the kitchen that I would've never thought to document for the claim and explained the process in a way that actually made sense. There were multiple moments where I probably would've accepted less from insurance if they hadn't stepped in. The kitchen now looks better than it did before the damage happened, but honestly the biggest value was having people who knew how to navigate both the restoration side and the insurance side at the same time. That combination is rare. Most companies either know construction or know claims. NYTDR seemed to understand both equally well, which made the entire process way smoother than I expected.

I've desperately needed my knife sharpened for a while but I couldn't find any accessible services…read morenear me for just one knife. I only use the one chef's knife and it's been driving me crazy. I found this place on Google Maps and it happens to be right off the 7 train so I can go during my lunch break. They also offer shipping services but drop-off in person was only $10 for my knife (very well worth it as it was $94 for my knife). It was a little hard to find, but I've enclosed the picture of the door next to the affiliated Iron Works. When I came yesterday, no one answered the door bell so I called; he told me that I could drop it off with one of the Iron Works workers. I got a receipt and took a picture of my knife. I came back today, rang the doorbell, and picked up my knife. He only accepts Zelle and cash (no Venmo or credit card). I'll try it out tonight but it certainly looks sharp! He put it in an extra sheath and stapled it for me. Very happy to find a convenient place to sharpen knives. I think it would've been $11 for same day but it was $10 because it was next day.
