If you're looking for reliable, knowledgeable and accommodating experts when you suspect there may be mold you should make NYMS your first stop. Communication was A+. We reached out to them directly via Yelp and had received a response within minutes. A quote was provided immediately and all following questions were promptly responded to. Getting a time and date that could work for my schedule was easy as they make themselves available quickly and even offer weekend visits. The site visit was scheduled and they followed up with me a few hours before confirming that they'd arrive a few minutes early and to check if that was ok. Yes, not late- but EARLY. A pretty rare experience for any service provider. The actual testing was thorough and easy. From a visual inspection and moisture testing tool to the high-tech inspection tool that sees moisture and heat through walls all the way to the air sampling Tal was efficient and explanatory. He specifically sampled each area that we were concerned about and was done in about 25 minutes. I was told that lab results and analysis could take a few days and we were all set. In only two days I got the official report back and confirmed I understood the analysis with an email exchange with Tal. It was great to learn everything was completely safe and no abnormal mold was present! Overall NYMS was an excellent experience and highly recommended. To save a little bit take advantage of the Yelp deal they have offered too! read more

These guys are amazing. They have now done 2 jobs for me now and Carmelo, left my bathroom spotless after cleaning the vents. He called me a half hour before arriving, came on time and told me up front how long he would be. A completely seamless process. It's amazing how much better I am breathing and the musty smell is completely gone in the bathroom read more

I went with this company based on the great Yelp reviews and am so glad I did. My rented apartment has a ceiling leak and lots of wet plaster, and it didn't seem like management was taking it seriously. I hired for mold assessment and testing, and Tal was knowledgeable, trustworthy and professional. He came out quickly, tested and provided reports for me to give to management, and gave a lot of other guidance about the whole situation. It's helped me to get management to take action and to know my rights, and to also get good information on proper remediation that I would not have known otherwise. I feel much more empowered to handle this and really recommend this company to others worried or confused about mold and looking for help. read more

We had a great experience working with Tal and his crew when we needed mold remediation done to remove black mold from a section of our room in our apartment. What was a stressful situation was made better by working with NYMS. Tal is a great communicator, and keeps you updated on every step of the project, which was crucial for me as I was not present for the work. They worked quickly and efficiently, and the job was finished faster than expected. He makes everything easy and simple from initial estimates to payments, etc. Highly recommend working with them! read more

Tal and team are top notch. Super responsive, honest, and ready to answer all of your questions. Price was fair and they got the job done exactly how it was laid out in the mold report. Don't mess around with something as potential harmful and costly as mold, call the best! read more

Discovered mold in my basement by the baseboard and immediately went to work to find a mold remediation company. Like any good shopper i read the reviews and already like Tal before i met him. So Tal reached out to me with 24 hours and was at my house the next day. Very nice, knowledgeable and real. I feel like he gave me great service for the price. He walked me through what to expect. He initially came and did an air analysis which is about $400, then called to go over the report. I called other companies and their prices were comparable to NYMS but it was Tal himself that had me sold. If you're looking for a fair legit thorough job, call and ask for Tal. He kept asking me any other questions and if so you know you can call me anytime. read more

New York Mold Specialist - Basement wall that they cut to treat - Damage Restoration Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I live in a ground floor rental apt in a very old building which has had many plumbing leaks over the years. Two years ago, I started having some respiratory issues--including a hacking cough--whenever I was in my bathroom --which is tiny and has no ventilation. Last year, I tried to get the management to do a licensed mold inspection, but to no avail. They just sent over the super, who saw no visible mold. Since then, my symptoms have been getting progressively worse--including shortness of breath, fatigue and brain fog. So, on the advice of my doctor, I found NYMS on Yelp and was more than willing to pay for my own mold inspection. Tal got back to me within hours and we set up the inspection for the next morning. He called to give me 30-minutes notice of arrival and was right on time. The inspection took less than 30-minutes, and the report arrived back to me within days. It is 50+pages long and extremely comprehensive--and, YES, my bathroom is very sick and full of mold (none of it visual). I went over the report with Tal and he answered all my questions. I have now sent the mold inspection report to a new buiilding management co, and fingers crossed, they will do the mold remediation in a timely fashion,as it is their legal responsibility. I found the inspection price very reasonable for the results, and the whole experience was smooth and easy--not stressful--as Tal is a very personable, reliable and knowledgable expert in his field. I wish I could just hire him today to do the remediation, but alas, even though the price quoted was very reasonable, I'm afraid, given that its a rental, I will have to play this out with the landlord and if necessary 311. If you think you have mold and have symptoms, look no future as Tal and NYMS is your guy! read more

This is an overdue rave review for New York Mold Specialist. I chose them from Yelp and not a personal recommendation. Tal was always responsive and the Penicillin problem in my closet was taken care of quickly. Walls had to be removed and there wasn't a speck of plaster or debris left when I returned to my apartment after quarantining for a few hours while the disinfection took place. Everyone who came to my rescue was great! read more

I called the company for two reasons after having had a serious flood in my basement. The first was that the address is directly across the street from my house. It was an amazing coincidence! The second reason was because of their excellent reviews! David couldn't have been nicer. There was no charge for the service call to give me an estimate. You can't ask for better than that! read more

Working with NY Mold Specialist (Tal) has been a very positive experience. We were up in the air with a few other companies but what ultimately led us to choose Tal was his speedy responsiveness, professionalism, and fair prices. He clearly outlined all of the procedures he would be conducting prior to our appointment with a quote and stuck to his word. The samples were sent to a lab and the results were provided to us in only 2 days time. Much shorter than what other companies promised. Tal also mentioned that his father was in the mold business and was following in his footsteps with a business of his own. Supporting a local NY/family business has proved favorable in more ways than one. read more
