Sadly this was a waste of time and money. If your job isn't big enough for the owner to come, you will get the "trained by owner" person. The "trained by" person doesn't have the years of experience to know what to look for and see what's there. I provided tons of info, there was evidence of moisture, had many health symptoms of mold and still he found nothing, it was all a-ok (???) Next testing, did not fall for the "trained by" listings and hired an owner that found it all, because he spotted the things that were there all along. It would have been nice to know then instead of waiting.... Plus there is no savings in hiring a "trained by" because the charges are the same. Could use that wasted cash for the present cleanup. read more

I had an extremely pleasant experience with this company. Everything from appointment scheduling to the actual appointment itself was great. The second floor of our apartment is sub-level and after the flooding from Ida and another leaking issue we wanted to make sure we had no moisture/mold issues. I had my doubts when it took them weeks just to email their report. Later, 2 of the final contractors we were interviewing, suggested the report was not up to snuff. Then, the contractor that we actually hired asked us what we thought about Oasis - and before we could even answer, started shaking his head and bluntly said that their report was mostly boilerplate, and not helpful. read more

Honestly, the only legitimate above board mold assessors I've come across in my current mold drama. Get them in. Don't trust reports from the ones your insurance company or building want to send in. Get them in as soon as there's a leak. As I learned (unfortunately) a negative mold test can help show that a landlords delays in repairing water leaks have negative impacts. read more

I was pleased with my inspection and experience with inspector Tyson. I felt he was a nice guy and did a very good job. Im moving into a 2 bedroom apartment and I am very reactive to mold so I needed my apartment to be safe from toxic mold. Tyson took my request seriously and was even empathetic to my health conditions. He spent alot of time in the apartment and answered many of my questions and concerns. Thankfully nothing to alarming was found. I had some minor repairs and maintenance to do which I was going to do anyway to make my apartment safe. We are very lucky to have found Oasis -- they are the only part of the lead abatement process that has been reliable, accommodating and honest. I cannot recommend Tyson enough as a lead tester. He walked us through the process, taught us a lot of important things about lead, and was very patient with all our questions. We were particularly pleased with the results process as well. Oasis pushes to get test results quickly, and then has the president of the company, Spencer, walk you through them. I recommend this company! The technician, Stefano, arrived on time and was professional. He came prepared with all of the PPE that is CDC compliant, and even covered his shoes with booties. He ran all the necessary testing and the results came in after a few days. Which was a contrary timeline that we were getting from other company (close to 3 weeks for results). Which was not going to work with us. However Oasis called me with the results, explained what our next step options were and answered all our questions. For starters, you can't go wrong booking these guys! Total life saver. My roommates and I were in a bad situation with mold in our vents which was making everyone feel sick. SAINT SPENCER If you have mold, call Spencer. He's knowledge, thorough + fair. Spencer found the issue, recommended the best cleaners + gave us indoor hygiene tips. The mold that was in my vent unfortunately blew spores onto near by hanging photos. Spencer showed me how to delicately clean them with detail including the specific mask to wear.*~* Spencer saved the day! He knew how sick we felt so it meant a lot that he came that same day from the city during rush hour to test our home. Turned out there was mold from the HVAC system in the bathroom next to my room. I was experiencing rashes that felt like bug bites. I told my land lord + unfortunately they prematurely wiped the mold thinking it was dust. After the exterminated ruled out there were no bugs but the "bites" got worst I called a mold cleaner. Spencer came in, gave a fair assessment + the cleaners came the next day. Spencer looked at my area of concern and right away knew it was not the deadly mold. He put our fears at rest. We rent an apartment with a basement bedroom in Manhattan. After a recent flood, the air quality in that room felt off. Best money we have ever spent! One of our daughters was suffering from terrible allergy symptoms every time she was in our home. We had a flood in 2010 and were certain is was due to mold sensitivity and she had tested negative to dust and all other allergens. Our building tested our apartment twice but frankly, we were not trusting of their assessment. So we called Oasis and they sent Stefano to test our home. Stefano was so kind and knowledgeable and did not make us feel rushed at all. He included us in every aspect of his work which we really appreciated. He went through all of his testing and determined that mold was not the issue but airborne particulate (dust) was a concern. The levels were extremely high. He recommended a high end air purifier which we bought and since the day we plugged it in our daughter has been symptom-free in our home. I hired Oasis Indoor in February 2016 for a CO & CO2 inspection. I had a tenant complaining about high level in his room. Spencer, the owner of the company took care of me right away, explained me everything to know about CO, CO2 and air quality. He came the next day to do the test and provided a very good an thorough analysis. He talked to me about building codes, air quality requirements in New York and made suggestions to improve the situation. He tested all appliances and openings that could lead to such emissions. Oasis Indoor was one of the few companies proposing such a thorough air quality testing, especially for CO & CO2. Furthermore Oasis is very competitive in term of pricing on the market. The cheaper out of the 4 companies I contacted. Finally, dealing with the owner was a sign of quality to me as I was receiving an expert in my home and not a temporary worker. I'm writing this review now because I inadvertently thought my sister wrote the review. On September 2, 2020 Oasis Indoor Environmental went to my sister's home. Spencer agreed to go a great distance due to being able to perform another job in a nearby location. This was no small feat and was greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend Spencer and Oasis Indoor Environmental. Spencer was professional and thorough his expertise was greatly appreciated. OIE was the only company in the surrounding area that had the proper equipment of a air and moisture meter in addition to holding the accreditations. Fortunately Spencer put our worst fears to rest. No life threatening mold. There was suspected mold behind kitchen cabinets. Spencer did say he would locate and recommend a contractor. Due to unknown factors Spencer made no more further contact with recommendations and this helpful assist did not come to fruition. Due to Covid we have not assess ed the kitchen as of yet. Environmental testing probably doesn't get better than this! Spencer, the company owner, came over right away when I called (a minor miracle in itself, in NYC). He was exceptionally professional, thorough, patient, and helpful in talking with my landlord about the genuine necessity to test and remediate toxins properly using a licensed contractor, and not just casually demolish walls and ceilings after many leaks without knowing what's inside. He explained everything clearly and carefully, walked us through the possibilities, and was extremely helpful in persuading my (reluctant, dubious) landlord to do the right thing. Spencer also made it a lot easier to do that because right then and there he recommended a first-class remediation company that he knows well and works with, he texted the company, and got that person to come over right away while my landlord was still there so they could all consult and plan together for maximum efficiency. A double miracle! Then Spencer went over all of his concerns and instructions/cautions with the remediation expert to make sure the job to be done met his very high standards of safety.
