I have found some members of the staff at this store to be hostile to someone who walks in with a problem looking for ideas and materials to complete an important task. The young man who "helped" me today offered no greeting aside from "What can I do for you?" without making eye contact or offering any sign of a desire to help. As I explained what I was trying to accomplish, the guy was nodding his head like he was already tired of interacting with me. Understand, the shop was not busy, there was one other customer being assisted by someone else. When I referred to the common brand name for a product he was showing me, he did find enough time to correct me and explain that this was different than the product I mentioned, as though I couldn't understand that. Finishing up, I said in a calm tone, "Sorry to have disturbed you with this." He countered, I'm not disturbed, But I'm not an engineer for figuring out what you need. I can put it in a bag for you." I was infuriated. I had another question about a second project and when I brought it up, he said, "I can't tell you anything about that." I asked if there was someone in the store who could help with it and he sent me down the hallway to speak with someone I suppose was the manager. This was a more complicated issue. And, while he was not as openly "Over" my needing help with a problem, he was clearly in a hurry to be done with the conversation. If Plumber's Supply wants to be an outlet to the trade, then they should post that on their window and online. It is a terrible experience to walk in looking for help only to be made to feel like one has trespassed into an area where only the informed are welcome. Of course, they happily rang up my purchase and took my money. PS - the plumbing guy at Home Depot found everything I needed in less than five minutes. the whole project revolved around an item that cost me $1.27 there. The mechanic looked at it and didn't think this was the problem, he suggested to look at the sprocket bushings, a common failure item. Turned out it was the bushings ($6 part). Saved me the expense of the differential part ($160 part). Good to know that they are not looking to sell you expensive parts that are not the problem. Trust in repair service is rare these days.

Bought a very expensive 5 gal plant (among others). I knew it didn't look "well" but they didn't…read morehave a great selection so I bought it. Brought it to my back deck, watered it (it was bone dry). Next day....seriously suffering. They give you a "guarantee" and tell you they will refund if you send them photos. I did. They didn't and they didn't help or even respond.. $70 gone, but maybe I can rehab it with time. Since then, bought the same plant for half of the price. Doing nicely. Saw a smaller one for $20 at Job Lot!!!! Doing fabulously. Both of the other ones I purchased are Proven Winners brands. the one from Olsons was not, but is that the reason it's drying? Think not....think they just don't care for them once they are on the lot. Prior to that I've spent at least $200 buying annuals. About 50% of them aren't making it, Think again before you you go here. Product inferior, staff inexperienced....plus they are pretty "grumpy" dealing with customers. There are several other nurseries close whose prices are better and who seem to have more knowledge. Don't bother buying your summer/year round plants from here.
