I don't know why but I'm going to have to revisit this place. It was the first time going to a Ono Hawaiian BBQ, and I personally hated it. I'm going to give it a second chance because maybe it was just me. (Doubt it) Why people make a hype about this place is beyond me. This is my first time at this location annnnd it rubbed me the wrong way. I ordered a barbecue mix plate and a shrimp and barbecue plate. When placing the order, I specifically asked for extra mac salad instead of vegetables on the ***barbecue mix plate.*** When we received the food at the window, I checked the box and noticed that there were vegetables and only one scoop of mac salad. I politely got the employees' attention and let them know about the mix-up. They took the bag back to correct it, but returned they told me that I had asked for the extra mac salad on the other plate, which was not true. My sister was with me in the car and heard the entire order as well. Being told that I said something I didn't rather than the miscommunication on their end felt dismissive as if I didn't know what I had just ordered. When the bag was finally returned to us, it was covered in spilled barbecue sauce which is not the condition it was handed to them in. The sauce had gotten all over the inside of the bag and the containers and napkins. This kinda felt like it was done on purpose and with attitude... Idk as someone who used to reside in Oahu, I just thought a place like this might treat their customers with a little more aloha. Hopefully it's better for other people who go. read more

I love Ono's! I like them better than L&L! The food always comes out fresh and flavorful! I came here twice so far. The first time I ordered a BBQ chicken mini meal. The chicken was full of flavor. The Mac salad was on point with just enough mayonnaise. The rice was cooked to perfection of course. I'm sure they have a rice cooker back there somewhere. The second time I came here I ordered a BBQ chicken mini meal and a side of six crispy shrimp. The shrimp were nice and crispy. I made a nice dipping sauce of soy sauce and chili crisp. The BBQ chicken wasn't as flavorful this time. It either wasn't marinated as long or it wasn't basted enough. Something was off. I certainly hope they can keep consistent as lack of consistency usually can have a detrimental impact on business. I will however still frequent Ono's. I just wish they served Loco Moco and kimchi! read more

Worst experience ever. Went through the drive thru placed my order pulled up to the window. I sat at the window for 7 minutes no one knowledge me. Another perspn pulled up to order she came to the window area to take the order,finished taking the order and walked away again!!!! I never paid or got my food. I just drove off. Waited 45 minutes, confirmed my order then went back a few more times to verify that they got my order, the excuse was they had a lot of orders!?!?!? Made it to the grand opening! There were a lot of people in line but the line did move very quickly. The staff were very friendly & clearly working their butts off! The inside was very beautiful and welcoming. The food was FANTASTIC! I got the chicken & beef combo plate that comes with white rice, macaroni salad + veggies. My boyfriend got the seafood plate & we each tried each other's food. Beyond delicious! We also ordered the Kalua Mix + Hawaiian BBQ plates that we are so excited to try tomorrow. We got a coupon in mail for BOGO meal so decided to give the new Maricopa Ono Hawaiin BBQ a try. We're been to the one in Chandler and pretty much liked it. We got the Teriyaki Chicken Combo and a Katsu Chicken Combo, as well as a Half Teriyaki Chicken and Half Katsu Chicken Combo. Each comes with Rice, Salad and Mac Salad. Also got a medium Lemonade. Had to order extra Teriyaki sauce and Katsu sauce. The Teriyaki Chicken was good, but the Katsu Chicken was overcooked and dry. The salad had no dressing on it, but the Mac Salad was very good. Ordered in the drive thru so did not see the interior. Mildly disappointed but the coupon was nice. We may or may not be back. read more

It's a counter service order fast casual concept but the food didn't taste like fast food. Flavors were fresh and portions above average. I had the bbq beef and teriyaki chicken combo and everything was good including the salad and rice. The house dressing for the salad is also very flavorful. On Friday, February 27th, I placed a takeout order for four plates at the Ohno Hawaiian location in Maricopa on what was clearly a busy night. Before ordering, I specifically asked how the food would be prepared and was advised it would take an additional 10-15 minutes due to the volume of orders. I agreed to the wait based on that explanation. When I arrived home, I discovered the food was not prepared as described. I immediately contacted the store and made it clear that I understood mistakes can happen. The purpose of my call was to notify them that I was on my way back so the replacement plates could be prepared in advance, allowing me to return home and still enjoy dinner with my family as originally intended. Upon returning to the restaurant, I was told the replacement plates were not ready, and it was apparent they had not even been started. At that point, I requested to cancel the order and receive a full refund. I was then told I would need to return home, retrieve the original items, and bring them back in order to receive the refund, which was unreasonable given the circumstances. While I understand the challenges of a busy service period, this experience demonstrated poor customer service and ineffective leadership. The food quality is good, and I want this business to succeed in Maricopa, but the management approach significantly detracted from the overall experience. read more

Today is the Grand opening - long line, waited for an hour to get in. It was buy one get one free promo. My favorite was the Chicken Katsu which is very tasty. All the flavors were good. I also liked the macaroni salad, mildly sweet. The service and the people working there were very professional which is very impressive for a fast food restaurant. Newly opened location in Maricopa. We stopped in yesterday around 1300, it was pretty crowded as far as seating availability but we ordered to go. It was very clean inside, and the staff were super friendly. Food order was made quickly and was exactas ordered. My wife had the teriyaki chicken and I ordered Chicken Katsu and BBQ beef. I spent many years growing up in Hawaii and love Hawaiian food. Today's sample was very good, full of flavor, rice was perfect and the Mac salad was delicious. Portion size was a bit smaller than other locations and maybe due to the volume they are doing, hopefully that gets better. This restaurant is a definite go to and I will be there often to get my Hawaiian cravings satisfied. read more
