Very bad service and potential age discrimination. Older people were forced to order via the digital kiosk, which is slow and terrible. Came here for a quick pick up lunch during my work week. It was past the lunch rush at around 3pm ish so it wasn't busy inside. The interior was pretty clean and orange colored walls all around. I ordered a two item combo with white fish and teriyaki chicken. My order came out in about 10 mins. Chicken was very fresh and white fish was super crunchy. It also came with tartar sauce, macaroni salad, and of course white rice. All things inside the place went so well together, like peas and carrots. We were craving for Hawaiian food a few days ago and decided to go to Ono Hawaiian BBQ, the one on Valley Blvd. in Alhambra on Sunday. The ambiance was okay, but it was kind of too simple and dull. We ordered two Spam musubi ($6.99 each for 2 pieces), a Hawaiian BBQ Chicken mini meal ($11.29), a Kalua Pork plate lunch ($13.99), and a Kalua Combo ($14.49). My daughters liked the spam musubi, and we got two orders for them, so they each had two big pieces. The Hawaiian BBQ Chicken mini meal wasn't too mini; the portion was great with flavorful BBQ chicken, 1 scoop of rice, 1 scoop of macaroni salad, and vegetables. For my Kalua Pork plate lunch (Hawaii's version of pulled pork), I liked my slow-roasted shredded pulled pork with a bit of smoky flavor. It was served over steamed cabbage. The cabbage was a bit chewy, though. I wish the cabbage could be softer; maybe steam it a bit longer. For the Kalua Combo, besides the Kalua pork, you can pick the second choice of BBQ Chicken, Chicken Katsu, or Teriyaki Chicken. Hubby picked the Chicken Katsu. The portion was big, and it had 2 scoops of rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and steamed veggies. You can also customize to have the sides, such as 2 scoops of macaroni salad and one scoop of rice, and one scoop of steamed veggies. (Choose your sides up to 4 for the combo.) The staff was a bit impatient and kept saying "anything else" a few times after my hubby placed his order, but I hadn't ordered any other food for my daughters, my mom, and myself. Lots of people order the Hawaiian BBQ mix here, which comes with short ribs, beef, and chicken. It's low key a lot of different kind of meat for one person so it's preferable to share that dish. This Ono is in a plaza in Alhambra with a fairly big parking lot, which it shares with other restaurants like Panera Bread. Parking is convenient more or less. I decided to grab some Ono's for dinner for me and my husband since I had a coupon earlier today :) Ordering process: I was surprised but I was able to call and place my order for pick up. I called around 2:49 PM, placed the order, and the employee said my order would be ready in 10 or so minutes. The ordering process was soOoO easy since I didn't have to order in person and wait. The spam musubi was delicious and the flavors were perfectly balanced. I'm always under the impression that the spam will be too salty but the rice in the musubi balanced it out. I liked the sauce they had in there too. It wasn't too wet/soft. The spam also had a nice crunch on the outside from their pan frying. It was hot and fresh. I like that the Hawaiian Sun drink isn't carbonated and not overly sweet tasting. The worker here offered teriyaki sauce on the side but I didn't take any.
