If you can look past old building, location.... it's the best hibachi, sushi place. Dressing on the salad (ginger dressing is the best). Spicy mayo sauce very yummy and makes everything even more delicious. Very nice waitresses as well! Affordable prices!

My parents just moved to Lincoln and my brother and I noticed there's not a lot of restaurants that opens on Sundays. Therefore, we were craving sushi and found this place in Anniston. When we pulled up, we noticed there's plenty of parking spaces but outside looks a little outdated and "run down". We walked in and was just surprised how spacious it was inside. There's plenty of seating and there's also a few hibachi tables as well. My brother and I ordered their crab rangoon and fried oysters and boy, we were so glad we did not leave. Their appetizers were delicious. Also, if you love sushi, this place is definitely for you. Every single day, they have a specialty roll that is half off. We ended up getting the Happy Roll (Sunday's special), King Salmon Roll, Fire Roll, Tornado Roll, and Golden Mango Roll. And OMG, every bite was better than the last. Our favorite roll was the Golden Mango Roll. We have never heard of a passion fruit sauce on a roll and the sauce was delicious. Our second favorite roll was the King Salmon Roll and again, we believe it was the passion fruit sauce that brought so much flavor to the rolls. Also, our server Jennifer was AMAZING! She was attentive and friendly and gave amazing recommendations. We will definitely stop by again!

Tonight's outing was better than our the last restaurant we visited. I was actually able to order a medium rare steak!!! But, stay tuned, because our adventure to this establishment that touts its sushi bar would only satisfy those of us who ordered cooked food. As you enter, you see that they have done a good job at achieving Asian decor. However as time passes you notice that this now Japanese steak house rests in the carcass of a failed Mexican restaurant. You will also notice that the Air and Heating system consists of the same overhead tubes commonly found in FEMA tents. The beer selection is to be expected with exotic flavors such as Kirin and Sapporo. When our orders were taken we were surrounded by staff. The main server standing at one end of the table while those of us at the far end of the table had to shout our order. Our Miso soup came out first. I advise not making any sudden movements while at your table because some of the servers will come out of nowhere dropping elbows like it's fight night. There was some confusion as the soup was passed out, because a bowl would be put down, and the server said "that one is for him, or you, or whoever." Once we figured out that no matter what you get you get soup, we figured it out. Some of our party had the sushi and/or sashimi. 2 individuals had the sushi and sashimi dinner, one had the sushi dinner and two of the more "basic" persons ordered one of those rolls that 19 year old college girls order while sucking down edamame talking about how cultured they are. Here's when things get interesting. Now for those of you who are not savvy on the difference between sushi and sashimi (refer to basic comment above) sashimi is thinly sliced raw fish, while sushi is a white rice with some form of white vinegar with or without raw fish. The combo dinner was "sashimi" and a single small tuna sushi roll, the sushi dinner was "sashimi" to include Krab. Krab not crab. Now the woman who brought out our food, I'm assuming the owner. No, not just because she was the only Asian, but because people listen to her when she yells at them. And the guy making the sushi was a younger Hispanic gentleman who does great work with non-sushi quality fish. While it may look good, appearance doesn't prevent parasites. Now I recommend if she brings something to the table and no one ordered it, do not tell her what you ordered because she will look at the food from a different angle and say, "oh no, this that." And there is what you're eating. The hibachi was great, most people got the chicken, I had the filet and scallops. Which were cooked nicely and medium rare. If you're not familiar with why this is important, refer to my review of "The Gridiron" where one of my relationships is still not fully repaired from the experience. It seems to me that our servers were not all there... the soft spoken one who put miso soup around everyone and left us to figure it out, or the fact that when you order Udon noodle soup with chicken, they will bring you a chicken hibachi plate you didn't order. While all was rectified it makes me sad that the days of in on the left and out on the right are behind us. Overall not a bad experience, I was not overly I impressed. I will be back for the entertaining wait staff but not for the sushi. Doc will be checking our mates who had the balls to order raw fish in Anniston, Alabama. One because he's a doc, and two because we are still mad at him for saying Gridiron has good food. One day we may forgive him. I will finish this review with a quote and picture of my fortune from the cookie that was thrown at my by our spacey soup server. At least while she is tossing food at customers she's enjoying life. This place had something for everyone! My boyfriend like sushi I do not. There were plenty of options for me since the menu is huge! Very prompt and attentive service. We tried several different dishes and all of it was a very very good and reasonably priced. They just need to give the place a little TLC. We will definitely be back to eat there!!

    Sunday basics rolls are bogo!

Weeks in advance, reservations were made for six persons at 4:30 p.m. in the main dining room…read more When I arrived, I was shown to a table in a small room adjacent to the service area; nevertheless, the table was too close to a naked wall for my visitor to gaze at throughout supper. "Well, if you want to wait, I can seat a table in the main dining hall at a much smaller table," the hostess said after asking. There goes the first item. I had boasted to my guest about how the restaurant was decorated. Then came the seating. No server, no server. Finally, STOPPED two of the many servers rushing past just to ask for water. The first server told us it was not her area. The second server rushed through, saying, "Yes, I will get you drinks." We asked if wine or cocktails were available; the response was that she would need to get an "adult to help." No adult ever came to help. No information/greeting of any type to welcome or on how to proceed with getting the food. Now for the $40 food. The appetizer of boiled shrimp tasted mushy, as it had just been poured from a container of water. Buffet: Did not know it would be an almost attempt at a country-type food buffet. Failed at that attempt, and not what would be expected from a fine dining restaurant. Black-eyed peas tasted like they had just been poured from a can, with no flavor. Dressing and mashed potatoes were good, and BBQ ribs were good. The ham had a large bone and gristle, the turkey was thick but dry, and the grease was starchy and had no flavor. The dessert was good, but we did not believe it was made at the restaurant; we ate some from Costco, and it tasted and looked the same. Very rushed and chaotic atmosphere. Staff running past 5-foot aisle along the back of our table and not once looking our way, without us waving them down to help. Used plates on the table were picked up much faster at other buffet restaurants. Maybe just a bad day for their business, but the customers paid for the fiasco. Not sure we will return; it was very disappointing and embarrassing for me to have guided my guest to the restaurant. Made me look and feel embarrassed. Do not believe this is the fine dining restaurant the Mashburns had intended. Classic on Noble Street in Anniston, Alabama, is closing permanently at the end of 2025 after 30 years in business. Owners Cathy and David Mashburn announced the decision on October 30, 2025
