If you can look past old building, location.... it's the best hibachi, sushi place. Dressing on the salad (ginger dressing is the best). Spicy mayo sauce very yummy and makes everything even more delicious. Very nice waitresses as well! Affordable prices!

My parents just moved to Lincoln and my brother and I noticed there's not a lot of restaurants that opens on Sundays. Therefore, we were craving sushi and found this place in Anniston. When we pulled up, we noticed there's plenty of parking spaces but outside looks a little outdated and "run down". We walked in and was just surprised how spacious it was inside. There's plenty of seating and there's also a few hibachi tables as well. My brother and I ordered their crab rangoon and fried oysters and boy, we were so glad we did not leave. Their appetizers were delicious. Also, if you love sushi, this place is definitely for you. Every single day, they have a specialty roll that is half off. We ended up getting the Happy Roll (Sunday's special), King Salmon Roll, Fire Roll, Tornado Roll, and Golden Mango Roll. And OMG, every bite was better than the last. Our favorite roll was the Golden Mango Roll. We have never heard of a passion fruit sauce on a roll and the sauce was delicious. Our second favorite roll was the King Salmon Roll and again, we believe it was the passion fruit sauce that brought so much flavor to the rolls. Also, our server Jennifer was AMAZING! She was attentive and friendly and gave amazing recommendations. We will definitely stop by again!

Tonight's outing was better than our the last restaurant we visited. I was actually able to order a medium rare steak!!! But, stay tuned, because our adventure to this establishment that touts its sushi bar would only satisfy those of us who ordered cooked food. As you enter, you see that they have done a good job at achieving Asian decor. However as time passes you notice that this now Japanese steak house rests in the carcass of a failed Mexican restaurant. You will also notice that the Air and Heating system consists of the same overhead tubes commonly found in FEMA tents. The beer selection is to be expected with exotic flavors such as Kirin and Sapporo. When our orders were taken we were surrounded by staff. The main server standing at one end of the table while those of us at the far end of the table had to shout our order. Our Miso soup came out first. I advise not making any sudden movements while at your table because some of the servers will come out of nowhere dropping elbows like it's fight night. There was some confusion as the soup was passed out, because a bowl would be put down, and the server said "that one is for him, or you, or whoever." Once we figured out that no matter what you get you get soup, we figured it out. Some of our party had the sushi and/or sashimi. 2 individuals had the sushi and sashimi dinner, one had the sushi dinner and two of the more "basic" persons ordered one of those rolls that 19 year old college girls order while sucking down edamame talking about how cultured they are. Here's when things get interesting. Now for those of you who are not savvy on the difference between sushi and sashimi (refer to basic comment above) sashimi is thinly sliced raw fish, while sushi is a white rice with some form of white vinegar with or without raw fish. The combo dinner was "sashimi" and a single small tuna sushi roll, the sushi dinner was "sashimi" to include Krab. Krab not crab. Now the woman who brought out our food, I'm assuming the owner. No, not just because she was the only Asian, but because people listen to her when she yells at them. And the guy making the sushi was a younger Hispanic gentleman who does great work with non-sushi quality fish. While it may look good, appearance doesn't prevent parasites. Now I recommend if she brings something to the table and no one ordered it, do not tell her what you ordered because she will look at the food from a different angle and say, "oh no, this that." And there is what you're eating. The hibachi was great, most people got the chicken, I had the filet and scallops. Which were cooked nicely and medium rare. If you're not familiar with why this is important, refer to my review of "The Gridiron" where one of my relationships is still not fully repaired from the experience. It seems to me that our servers were not all there... the soft spoken one who put miso soup around everyone and left us to figure it out, or the fact that when you order Udon noodle soup with chicken, they will bring you a chicken hibachi plate you didn't order. While all was rectified it makes me sad that the days of in on the left and out on the right are behind us. Overall not a bad experience, I was not overly I impressed. I will be back for the entertaining wait staff but not for the sushi. Doc will be checking our mates who had the balls to order raw fish in Anniston, Alabama. One because he's a doc, and two because we are still mad at him for saying Gridiron has good food. One day we may forgive him. I will finish this review with a quote and picture of my fortune from the cookie that was thrown at my by our spacey soup server. At least while she is tossing food at customers she's enjoying life. This place had something for everyone! My boyfriend like sushi I do not. There were plenty of options for me since the menu is huge! Very prompt and attentive service. We tried several different dishes and all of it was a very very good and reasonably priced. They just need to give the place a little TLC. We will definitely be back to eat there!!

You get two pieces of salmon and it was nice and flaky, I love that you don't have to choose between noodles and rice at Yume because they give you both! The veggies were okay. They were a bit soggy because of the way they were all steamed under a bowl for a while. I actually look forward to the slight crunch of hibachi vegetables. Our chef was also a little heavy handed with the terayaki, but overall we enjoyed the food. Atmosphere: Fun. Hibachi is always entertaining. Our chef was great with his fire tricks. Good choice for a celebration. Price: Typical for hibachi spots. $25-$45pp. 18% gratuity automatically added for groups of six or more, which is also pretty standard. Overall, I enjoyed it and will be back to try some of the sushi!

The Combo Fried Rice I order was delicious. It could have used a little more seasoning; perhaps with dark soy sauce and garlic. But as is, it is worth ordering again. The Basil Chicken, although delicious, was heavy on the brown sauce that was loaded with corn starch. It wouldn't have been a problem had the sauce been a flavor bomb, but unfortunately it was not. I ordered spice level 4, but what I received was not even close to level 4 spicy. In fact, it wasn't spicy at all. The dining room looks very comfortable and inviting. There is also a bar inside which was unattended and empty. The customer service was very good. The hostess was kind and helpful. I'll visit again when in the area.

It was unfortunate because the food was absolutely bland? A complete 180 from how it used to be. I was so upset I cried actual tears (I blame the hormones though). I kept thinking it was just an odd night and tried twice more before giving up completely. I'm not sure if they got rid of their good cook or what but definitely went downhill. Their yum yum sauce is *chefs kiss* though. The green salads confuse me. Sometimes when I would order I would get a tiny container and sometimes I would get a huge to go box? They have great appetizers though. Gyoza, lobster Rangoon, monkey brain, and fried avocado bowl all slap

I ordered the hibachi chicken, and it was extremely sweet to the point where I could only eat one piece. I let the waiter know and asked if I could switch to a different protein even offering to pay the difference if needed. The waitress was polite, but when she checked with the owner, I was told I'd have to pay for an entirely new protein with no attempt at finding a reasonable solution. For a restaurant I've supported for years, that was really frustrating, especially since our bill was well over $100. I wasn't asking for anything free, just something I could actually eat. I left feeling really disappointed with how the situation was handled, especially given how good my past experiences have been. I hope they take this feedback seriously, because I'd love to see the customer service match the quality they've had in the past.

I thought the meat was pretty good and had decent flavor but the fried rice lacked flavor. My husband got ramen. He said it was pretty good. I feel like there are not many places near by you can get ramen. We also got an order of gyoza. It's chicken and has good flavor. We also got a spicy crab roll. It wasn't a spicy crab roll in the traditional sense. The roll itself is pretty small. The filling didn't have much flavor and they cover it in Sriracha and Mayo. They have a cute setup inside. There is a cherry blossom tree in the middle of the dining area. The floor was nasty sticky though. Overall the food was ok. I ordered the Shrimp Teriyaki lunch special for around $13, and the portion was GIGANTIC. I subbed a spring roll for the egg roll, and it was crispy and delicious. I could only eat about 1/8 of my meal (took the rest home!) and the cost included a drink, too. My friend got a ramen bowl, and it was also huge. The service was super friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was clean and uncluttered. I've been recommending Koi Teriyaki to my friends!
