I bought a vehicle and didn't get a mechanic to look at it first. Big mistake. I spent $5000 in repairs the first year and it needed another $2000 repair when I just decided to cut my losses and sold it to a dealer for $2300 less than I paid for it. I almost spent as much in repairs than the vehicle was worth. I would not recommend this car lot after my experience.

Ronan is very well-versed in his product knowledge, which is a priority for us, having been in the auto sales business some years back. He answered our questions without hesitation and importantly, provided important insights based on his knowledge and experience that helped considerably in the design of our X-5. He made suggestions that added so much to the final product. Because of his attention to detail and commitment to excellence, we could not be more pleased with our new vehicle. Importantly, we genuinely enjoyed working with Ronan. We cannot recommend him and his team more highly. We intend to work with him in purchasing any future BMW's.

Unfortunately, everything changed when I met with Brandon Pratt in finance. He was rude, huffing and puffing, and acted like helping me was a burden. I stayed calm and respectful even though I felt completely disrespected.

The finance manager on the other hand, started out super friendly, but when I denied all of the high-pressure add-on services/ warranties that he was trying to sell to make money, he turned into a jerk. Not even the courtesy of a handshake when buying a $64,000 car. Poor class. The sales portion is great like I said, the extra hour you spend denying all of the overpriced ridiculous warranties is where we had the trouble.

After a short conversation we left our vehicle and went to lunch. I received texts, emails, and a phone call about the inspection with recommendations on what should be done. Most of the items on the list actually needed servicing and maintenance. One thing that stood out was the tires. The set of tires on the vehicle are high mileage tires that are not near the rating. They kept texting and making sure I didn't want new tires. Other than the back and forth about tires, everything went well and the price range was right around what I expected. This is the dealership where we purchased the vehicle new in 2012. Between here and Jacksonville Toyota all the vehicle maintenance history can be retrieved if needed. I would recommend this dealership for vehicle maintenance and service.

I would also like to note that they haven't made contacted with me for my refund the dealership for the last months has ignored me about receiving a refund because they will not respond. I paid 1000$ dollars before even taking the car off the lot, which was the guarantee that I was bringing a paycheck to them for the rest of the loan. They took and they didn't respond nor are they willing to work with me to give my 1000 deposit back. I would have stopped contacting if they would have simply said it was non refundable. At this point the back and forth is time consuming shows a lot, I have my own small business and treat customers better. I just happened to have a family emergency it was only 1 day they would have had to wait. I stopped dealing with them because they continued to threaten me with police while I had a check written for them and showed proof of fund at the dealer which is why they let me take it off the lot with the keys. I left the car at my school for them to pick it up in case they had any more tricks to pull. I have so many message threads I could post but the last thing I have to say is be careful who you chose to make a big purchase especially if you are in a bad situation and trying to get real help from people who "care" :)

Excellent purchase experience…read more I have been looking for several months, on-line and at many other dealers for the next car. Finally stumbled on what I was looking for when I finally to check out the CarMax listings. The car was in SC, easy shipment to Wilmington for a first look and test drive. That first look and test drive was delayed for a week because CarMax found a problem with the car. CarMax immediately refunded the transport fee while still holding the car in reserve for my eventual test drive. I hadn't even asked about that, I was impressed. The week delay was not a problem for me, I'm happy they took it Bob King Mercedes for its diagnosis and easy fix. The team there (at CarMax), including many in the service department were transparent in communicating the cars status while I waited to test drive it. I don't recall all the names but do recall Josh and Martin. Overall, everybody we've met or talked to (even just walking through the office space), made greetings, were professional and courteous, great bunch of people. On test drive and purchase day, we were fortunate to have Katie Ricketts as our Customer Specialist to take us through the complete process. Katie is a leading example of the complete team at CarMax, professional, personable and courteous. Plus, she's very detail orientated when processing the paperwork, and efficient while doing it. Thank you Katie.
