Custom Bowl plus Mini Poke Salad Shio-Koji Tuna $8.25
Cathrin P C.

Don't let the name fool you -- it's not just Onigilly! They also have poke bowls. If you're looking for a clean meal, get the custom bowl. I wanted to try the tofu noodles, which actually tastes pretty close to real noodles. There's not a lot of fish protein in the bowl but it's enough for the price and it was pretty tasty. To increase my protein, I tagged on a side of Mini Poke Salad Shio-Koji Tuna for $8.25 so grand total was $26.37 Placing your order at the kiosk which was super easy and wait was minimal. There are a couple of small tables nearby for eating or you can take it to the food court area if you want to spread out. Staff were friendly enough. This is a good option amongst all the fast food high calorie junk in the mall.

Really enjoyed my first experience here. I asked the associate for recommendations and It's unfortunate I couldn't try a few items on the menu because I'm pregnant, they were nice enough to give me generous samples. I walked away with a snow crab onigiri and a raw one for my husband. I will be back because it hit as a mid-afternoon snack! They also have some BOGO deals going on, so it's worth it.

First time trying it out after it opened in Serramonte! Seating is limited to a few tables out infront of the store. You order at the self-kiosk and the service is pretty fast. All the Onigilly flavors are yummy especially the salmon, and the overall portion size is not bad for the price. The 2-piece sets are good if you want a light lunch but aren't starving. I have some notes regarding sizing. Overall, it's pretty good. Edamame Set with 2 Onigilly (Ponzu Salmon Poke and Sweet Soy Salmon Poke) - I liked the taste of the sweet soy salmon better. Salmon portion sizes seem to vary, but overall I wish they included more fish. After I bit into the ponzu salmon one I felt like it was mostly rice, while the salmon was pushed to the side which made it look more filling than it was (see photo). The sweet soy salmon one had more fish though, so maybe that was a one-off occurrence. Bento Set with 2 Onigilly (Spicy Tuna Poke and Koji Tuna Poke) - My partner liked it but I wish it came with more chicken karaage - the two pieces were pretty tiny. The takuan (pickled radish) and tamagoyaki were yummy and went well with the Onigilly!

Take out counter in the Serramonte mall. They have those rice triangles rapped in seaweed with a choice of fillings. Kinda like a sandwich. 2 triangles and a miso soup or a salad is a set. Healthy (little meat) right size meal. Order by machine which takes time to get use to.

Love how they have so much varieties! They charged from $3.99-$4.99 per one. They do sell them in a set of 2 or 3 with a combo set of your choice. I tried a few flavors: Ponzu Salmon Poke Koji Tuna Poke Ume Salmon Unagi Miso Nasu * if you're a pickled plum fan, you should give it a try! I love how they filled up the fillings pretty good and a lot of rice to go with it compared to the other chain places I tried. I went around 1ish and the line slowly got packed. But I only waited less than 10mins. Outside looks nice and clean. There are 2 kiosk machine on the counter where people wait in line to order. There's also a few tables and chairs around that area or mall, so something we don't need to worry about! I'll go back soon to explore the rest of the menu!

So, we had the one open at stonestown and then now we finally have one at Serramonte shopping center in Daly City. I would say this one feels and somewhat tastes better than the Stonestown location. Mainly, we weren't feeling the rice cooked at stonestown as much as we felt the rice could have been cooked abit more. Comparing to this one, majority of the flavors were closer to how we remembered the taste from other onigillies. The service was really good too as the staff were all really concentrating on their work and the main cashier was really good about assisting with recs and if we needing anything else to make the experience better. We would return t this location more as the onigillies tasted better for us. Thank you!

Had no idea what this place was about but had an expert bring me here to try their "perfect-size for a lunch for a non-big eater" (my words haha). Got to try two of the premium onigiris which was a poke and a snow crab. Both were beautifully made and really tasty :) I was curious about the combos they had, but I think you're limited on choice - but could be an option for those who want a bit of a heftier lunch. OMG - their yuzu lemonade is so good though! Maybe a tad too sweet but honestly, you can just water it down yourself. We were able to get this complimentary using the app's promo - we were between the spam onigiri or this yuzu lemonade and honestly, that's a tough choice, but I'm gonna say the yuzu is better hahaha :D

Onigilly is now open, and a great addition to Serramonte! It's one of the healthier food options in the mall. I stopped by for a quick snack and was able to order easily on one of the two self-ordering tablets. There are 3 types of pricing: classic ($3.99), premium ($4.49) and deluxe ($4.99). I opted for two of the deluxe onigiris: tuna poke and snow crab. Both were great and made to order quickly. I also got a yuzu lemonade with the new offer when you sign up for free rewards (via Toast). Loved this lemonade! Super refreshing and not too sweet. You can also build your own onigilly set with 2-3 onigiri and can add things like seaweed salad, miso soup, pickles etc. The only thing I wished was for there to be more seating and tables around, or else it's grab and go. Will be back again regardless though!

Stopped by Onigilly at Serramonte during their Grand Opening weekend on Saturday. I caught the ribbon-cutting ceremony and then waited in a long line, which moved slowly. Ordering at the self-serve kiosk was easy overall, but the BOGO promo took a moment to figure out. After typing in "BOGO," you have to tap the green checkmark for the discount to apply. I ended up getting the free SPAM and did the BOGO 50% off with Snow Crab and Salmon Tarako. Everything tasted great. This was my first time trying Onigilly, and I'd definitely come back. They also had fun grand opening extras--I spun the prize wheel and won Onigilly chopsticks. Raffle prizes include free Onigilly for a year (two winners), AirPods, and an iPad. Winners are being notified today (Jan. 20), so I'm hoping for some good news!

We went here for lunch early today, we were afraid the lines were super long with the soft opening. It wasn't crazy busy at opening, and pretty easy. We places our order on the mini kiosk and our food was out in minutes. We ordered: 1. Spicy tuna poke: Surprisingly spicier than I expected but was fresh and gone in no time. 2. Ponzu salmon: Fresh and not fishy tasting. Ponzu was a good balance. 3. Bento box 3 onigilly: This is a good deal, you can choose 3 items, comes with edamame, chicken karaage, tamagoyaki, & takuan. Good for sharing, sampling, and cheaper in my opinion. We did 2 orders of these: mix of shrimp tempura, snow crab, miso tuna salad, and spam. All were fresh and equally delicious. 4. Cream puffs : matcha and strawberry were a perfect way to end the meal. 5. Organic matcha lemonade: Refreshing and perfect balance. Service was fast and items were reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place.

Came during their grand opening weekend and was able to get the free onigiri but we also bought 2 onigiri. We got a unagi and salmon poke onigiri. All three onigiri were fresh and yummy. Will definitely go again.

Finally an Onigilly in Daly City!! This shop is right across from Hollister, existing from Macy's. Ambiance: 4/5 Nothing fancy, just a shop in the mall. It was kind of awkward to wait for the food as there's no waiting area and you're kind of just in everybody's way walking by. Service: 4/5 Pretty much self-service as there are 2 kiosks to order from and they'd just hand you your order. We did have to wait about 20mins to get 7 onigilly but we didn't mind. Food: 5/5 The nori got soggy pretty quick so the whole thing fell apart pretty quick with 1-2 bites. But!!! All the fillings tasted fresh and tasty, so we were happy with the overall quality.

Onigilly is now open within Serramonte Shopping Center. It is ear Kay Jewelers and across from Waikiki (heading towards Macy's from the center of the mall). The service is fairly quick - they have two DIY tablets for you to scroll through and choose from. For a limited time only, they have a Buy One, get one for 50% off (discount code BOGO). I assume this expires on their second day of opening at 7pm since it's their opening weekend. The service is really fast just like the one in Stonestown - so I look forward to becoming a regular here (much easier to find parking compared to Stonestown).

So we had to wait a couple minutes longer than we should have. If we would have been paying attention. One plate we chose was the king Katsu, which was actually really good. It is spicy if you ask for the spicy version so be prepared. It's more the sauce than the catsu itself but well cooked and it was pretty delicious. Meal for 2 maby 3 Second plate we had was the mixture between the Korean fried chicken and the garlic Butter Chicken, which I thought was really nice. I do think the Korean chicken could have a little bit more spice to it. But aside from that really good, especially for the cost, it was a lot of chicken. For a fair price We also had the fish dish which consisted of three generous size pieces, the fish was fresh and flaky and came with a nice side of tartar sauce. And to top it all off, you do get free miso soup brought to your table to start your meal. The ambiance was pretty nice. It wasn't too loud, wasn't too quiet. Definitely could have some conversation with my family. And the service was excellent, very professional and attentive. Definitely, we'll be going back.

The cheese can get overwhelming for me but it was really good, and it was still really good reheated. The combo plate had a little bit of everything and they were all fried really well. The fish one was nice, the hamburger patty was fine, and the pork katsu was a little too thin for my liking. We had the regular and spicy curry sauce on the side and I think that's what makes it tastes good. Its sweet but in a good way. Their salad and mac salad is a nice addition as well. Service is very friendly and prompt. We also got take out a few days later, again solid! We tried the chicken katsu this time and it was juicy and not dry! Even though I'm not a fan of fried things, I think we have a new favorite to add to our rotation.

Not much in this area, found Tomo, it seemed interesting, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is very spacious, decor is minimal, seating is plenty- although the cushions & tabletops are showing a lot of wear & tear and should probably be replaced or repaired. That being said, it had a very casual & comfortable almost diner-like feel to it. Service is very good, there are a few waitresses circulating around checking on the dining room, refilling drinks, running food, taking orders, and checking in with patrons. We were seated quickly, and the food also arrived quickly. Our waitress was very nice, professional, and efficient. Food was good. We mostly ordered appetizers since we were on a schedule to see a movie and just wanted something lite to tie us down for the next 2 hours. Got edamame, agedashi tofu, pickled cucumbers, and a shiitake mushroom roll. The edamame plate was so small, I think I literally counted my 12 bean pods, I couldn't believe it was a paid dish. I sort of complained to the waitress about it, and she got the hint and brought out another small plate with maybe 8 bean pods. Ok, so we ended up getting 20 overall, lol. Weird way to start the meal. The shiitake roll was so-so. It literally fell apart just trying to pick it up with chopsticks, i don't think they were rolled tightly. Taste was good, but nothing memorable. I really liked the Agedashi tofu with some semi-sweet dipping sauce that was very savory- just salty enough, rich enough, and bold enough to bring out a lot of flavor out of plain tofu. This dish was pretty big in size, and it made up for my disappointment with the size of the edamame appetizer. Lastly, the pickled cucumber was really good. Fresh, crunchy, not too tart or sour, perfectly light, with a hint of vinegar & zest to cleanse the palate. Overall, I enjoyed our light snack here at this casual restaurant. Prices were decent, service was stellar, and food was ok, save some really small portions, at least everything tasted good, fresh, and balanced in flavors & seasoning. I had to dock points off for portions & the quality of the sushi roll falling apart, but other than that, I recommend Tomo was a good place to stop to eat before heading to the movie theater next door.

This place has seemed to have gotten an elevated, more modern face lift/ renovation compared to the restaurant that used to be here. I was surprised that they didn't have standard sushi rolls that I'm usually accustomed to, but from the rolls that I've tried here... change is good. I ordered: 1. Corn tempura: First time seeing this, I love both corn and tempura. Had to see what it was about. It was perfection. Now it makes me wonder why this has never been done. 2. California roll: Standard staple and was good. 3. Warriors roll: It's an interesting combo, all items that I like.. first bite you're hit with a flavor explosion.
