We set a date for the work, and Charlie and his crew showed up on time, and immediately began working. Talk about efficiency!! By 3:00 p.m., they had all the trees down, all the branches chipped, the rounds cut and removed, all stumps stump-grinded, and both our front and back yards cleaned up so well you'd never know they were there. The whole project is $2200, after the first day, when he did 1/3 of the job he asked me to pay him $1600 because he had cash flow problem. I gave him $1000 so that he could come back to finish the rest. The second visit, he still did not finish the whole job but he was begging us again for more cash and my husband and I made the mistake of being too kind: we paid him up to $1600. He never came back to finish grinding the rest of stumps. He probably felt the rest of $600 wasn't enough to cover his another trip to finish the stump grinding. At the beginning he was taking our calls, saying November was too busy for him, and pushed his return to December, and then January. Then he never answers or returns out call anymore. I should have known better, if he was really four generations of business and really busy with all sorts of project, why would he have any cash flow problem of $1000? I don't really want to put in a lot of my time into this matter because the mistake was on our side too: we were too naive and fell for his crying for cash because his workers were sick and all kinds of other personal reasons. Stupid on our side, but hopefully you don't make the same mistake. We would also appreciate tips to resolve this issue.

Foothills Tree Experts of Fort Collins, CO came out to prune and/or remove seven large trees on our…read more8-acre property off Bingham Hill Road on March 12, 2025. They had the job completed in less than four hours, including clean up. It was impressive to watch how organized and efficient they were. We particularly appreciated that any time there was the slightest question about what we needed done, they made sure to ask before proceeding another step. Many of the trees were located at the periphery of our inner yard area which is surrounded by wooden rail fencing and they took particular care to ensure no damage was done to the wooden rail, the flower beds or grass. After agreeing on the original estimate and start date, I contacted Kevin later to add a couple of trees which he did without hesitation for a bargain price. I don't know most of their names as there were probably ten or more working under Kevin's direction and all, to the man or woman, friendly, especially Daniel, who loves animals and even "hugged" our 2,000 lb pet Angus steer, Bosco.
