    Complimentary bread

We stopped here today to have a quick bite for lunch. The service was very attentive even though the restaurant was very busy for an afternoon. We sat down at the bar, bread was brought out to us which was super warm and the butter was salty and delicious. I ordered the which came with a truffle oil cream sauce, mushrooms and asparagus and it was spectacular. It was a large portion and I even took half of the dish home. Definitely would recommend this location.

Tiramisu was a bit strong for me, but the marscapone was excellent

Date of visit: March 27, 2026 This was our birthday dinner with our dear friend Jack; we had not been to Onesto in years and this was as good an opportunity as any to visit an old favorite. Despite the frigid temperatures, the place was very busy! Given that, we weren't able to be seated before our reservation time but that was fine, we hung out at the bar for a bit and the host grabbed us and guided us to our table with expert care. I do wish we didn't have the table closest to the door as there isn't a ton of places for folks to wait and they weren't always courteous about not leaving the door open for those of us already inside. But the window vantage point was nice, as was the birthday card signed by the staff (and I just realized that in our haste to hustle back the several blocks to our car, we forgot it at the table! We must seem so rude!). Ally was our server and she did the best she could with the general busyness at 715 on a Friday night. She did have some assistance with the food delivery by other staff, which I did appreciate as things took a while due to the aforementioned popularity of the restaurant. Food-wise, everything was very good overall but didn't quite stick the landing: - Clam chowder was creamy but a bit heavy on the parsley and not served with crackers. I really love that crunch of the oyster cracker with the cream of the soup. - Bolognese was a very generous portion and the short rib was excellent, but it needed just a little more sauce to keep everything moist. - The tiramisu was several layers and looked perfect, but while the marscapone was delicious, the booze flavor was way too strong for a teetotaler such as myself. Despite some opportunities, this was still a very wonderful meal!

Came here several times for different occasions. Service was great, and the atmosphere is cozy and cute! The pasta is homemade, and the dishes are made to order. I personally think the food is just ok and nothing special. It's a popular spot though, so they recommend you making a reservation if you want a table.

We had an amazing time at their annual Galentine's dinner. All five courses were prepared fresh and were favorites of the restaurant. The beet salad was delicious. The three pasta dishes all very flavorful. The chocolate covered strawberry was a nice way to end the meal. Attention to detail was not missed from fun photo ops to a heart shaped jello on our aperol spritz. Chef Corrine came out and spoke about each dish. So great to hear about the incredible women running this place. Table decor was fun with heart shaped glasses at each spot. We for sure plan to attend next year!

Onesto is one of my favorites! Daily soup is always yum, moscato is my go to, rigatta alla vodka is the best! I always get the lobster tail here it's better than harbor house lobster!! Service is a mix but overall done well! I love the vibes and do prefer a high top window seat!

I love sidewalk dining at Onesto in the summertime! Their cocktails were the perfect start to a warm evening, and I greatly enjoyed their pasta with vodka sauce. Even if you can go for a full meal, definitely go for a drink and soak in the sights and sounds of the third ward!

I was visiting Milwaukee and found this place online it looked super good. I sat at the bar it was so beautiful and their bar seats were very comfortable. I ordered the Caesar Salad and Rigate Alla Vodka both were SO GOOD. I loved their pasta and the sauce was absolutely delicious. The bartender was helpful and attentive. Next time I'm in Milwaukee I will be going by!

Food was delicious and service was fantastic. I had the rigata alla vodka with salmon. Husband had bolognese. We shared the burrata appetizer. Would definitely recommend.

Visited before our MSO event. Drink specials were great- the table ordered wine and few of the drinks. Loved them. Shared the pork belly and burrata. Both were delish and outstanding. Hubby and I also shared the Warm mushroom salad- so good! The warmth wilted the arugula and the nuts and goat cheese was so enjoyable. Everyone ordered pasta tonight: gnocchi, fusilli, rigatoni (added meatballs), and agnolotti. We ate everything- and didn't even take pics. Gnocchi were soft and light. Also ordered dessert which was outstanding. Service was consistent- but was going to order another drink - but missed the opportunity and left for the symphony. Not our first time here- and won't be our last.

I came here with a group of girls for a casual dinner. It was my first time here and overall the restaurant is very pretty with a low light ambience atmosphere. Perfect setting for a date night! The service was overall good. The food wasn't bad but also wasn't amazing. I thought the bread was kind of bland without much flavor, although it did come out warm and served with bread and butter. I ordered the carbonara which seemed just average as well based on flavor.

We had a reservation set in place but still had to wait 30+ minutes for a table to open up, with no waiting area so we were just standing awkwardly in the entry. However, once we were seated the service was impeccable and timely. We were offered a house appetizer as well as dessert for compensation as well as a birthday gift. The food was amazing, and the bread and burrata was so fresh.

Had a reservation for two at 9pm on a Saturday evening. We were greeted right away as we walked into the door and taken to our seat shortly after. Highly recommend a reservation. We sat at a high top and waters were brought right away and some warm house bread. The soup of the day was a salmon soup our waiter informed us. I decided to give it a try. It was delicious. I then ordered their seafood pasta. Once again, delicious. The pasta was cooked to perfection along with the different seafood. Everyone we ran across were friendly, there was light music playing, and the resturant was clean. If I make my way back to the area, I would definitely eat here again.

We had reservations at 6:00 on a Saturday night. (It was cold, a little drizzly, and windy out.) The front entrance has several steep steps, and when you walk through, you are literally at the host station. They were going to seat us right behind the host station, but we knew it was going to be a problem as people went in and out. We asked to be seated a little farther from the door, and after a bit of discussion (it sounded like this was going to be a little issue), they were able to find a table for two in the parlor. So glad! Got settled in right away with menus and waters. Our server did a good job of getting us up to speed on the menu, the service, and the cocktails. They did a very good job throughout the evening (thanks, Roberto). We settled on the Window Seat (Beef Tallow and Rosemary Washed Vodka, crazy but true) and the Night Clubbing (with espresso-infused Campari). Both were very good choices. We decided that we wanted to start with three dishes and then regroup if we needed more. These included the Bok Choy Salad, Cumin and Cinnamon Braised Pork Shoulder, and Venison Tartare (Dijon Ice Cream?). The Bok Choy Salad was a real surprise, with the entire collection being so bright and flavorful. The dates had a meaty quality. The dressing with Nuoc Cham was savory with just a bit of heat. We both decided that we could have made an entire meal of that. The Pork Shoulder came next and was a good portion, with the meat tender and flavorful. The Quinoa Polenta was interesting, but I can't say that it was something I would seek out. I have had Beef Tartare before, but this was a first for Venison Tartare, so of course I just had to order it. What struck me first was that the entire thing (not just the Dijon Ice Cream) was very cold, almost frozen. I tried a couple of bites, and it was so cold that unless you let it sit in your mouth to thaw out, it was somewhat tasteless. I spread it around the plate to thaw out, and it was a big improvement. It's a good-sized portion, and even after loading up on the three pieces of bread, there was still plenty left (maybe a couple more pieces of bread?). There were a couple of desserts that we would have loved to try, but we were full and had a performance to attend. So we will have to wait until next time. Really enjoyed our first dinner. Loved the inventiveness of the menu. The staff all seem to really care about the business and the diners. With the placement of the front door and the draftiness of the dining room, we will likely book our next dinner when the weather turns warmer.

I also tried a mocktail version of La Pucelle, it wasn't explicitly listed in the mocktails section so you can order a mocktail version of some the alcoholic cocktails. For dessert I tried the Panna Cotta, it was my first time ever trying it and tho go get it was really good. It had a pomegranate sorbet scoop on top sprinkled with frankincense laid on a bed of shaved ice with the creamy base at the bottom of the bowl. It was refreshing! The waiter was very helpful, he explained how they served food and drinks and when I asked about I n residents for the dessert he was able to describe them in detail.

Once I found a Montepulciano I was interested in, someone came over from the bar to check me out. I asked him if it was possible to get one of the cheese trays to go, and was told it was no problem. He would ring it up for me and get right on it. He offered me a seat at the bar while I waited, but I was happy just looking at their other wine options. The cheese plate was super tasty, and a really good value at $15. There were four cheeses, grapes, almonds, crasins, and bread. We really liked the selection and were impressed with the size. It's ok to have expensive alcohol pairing with high end dinner but in this case the sake was very regular.
