I'm ten years faithful to One World and I decided to change my rating today after two consecutive bad experiences in the past month. Servers have always had a great vibe & chill & fun. Never a complaint. But the food. Sigh. The last two visits the food has been cold...presentation lacking...and then today my long-term standby had a very bad taste. The beautiful thing about reviews is that you can update your review as you go back to a place...and today I thought "holy shit they have an outdoor patio! it can't get better." I gave this place a 4 star rating, because I had nothing bad to say, but there are so many great places to eat I don't come here as often as I should. I've been here a few times, and I have to say the food I've had was great. I do love the art here, and how they support local artists. It was even nice to have been part of one of their first friday live painting days. I think it's fabulous too they cater to a more diverse crowd of eaters like Vegan, etc. Me personally, I likes mah meat. But I understand not everyone does, so to see them go the distance to have options for others is great too. read more

So rude! I yelp for my life and since I'm traveling with a production of 30 it's been super helpful. It's my first time to Peoria and One World popped up as number one. We're for a week so I placed an order 20 minutes prior for production assistants then decided to go in and find a a local place to our meals from. We were greeted by a older heavy set lady with glasses. She told us it would be a 45 minute wait for a party of 4. Unfortunately we couldn't wait since we are on a strict time schedule. So when I mentioned it's our first time could she recommended something she replied with "No" thrown off by her answer I asked "there's nothing else around here?" She said "No there's nothing else. We're the best." The rest of my crew walked out since I asked her for help. All she said was "sorry". The food we did order was NOT good. Bland and basic. We had then Mac n cheese which was awful! So the food remains tasty but there is a long and serious lull in customer service going on that is really disappointing. We had a server who was really rude and ignored us for a majority of the time we were seated. We had to wave him down for every single thing we needed. He had this thing where we would say we needed water refills so he would get the pitcher and then walk around to all the tables around us, refilling their waters and then coming to us last. Every time we asked for another drink, it would elicit a huge sigh like us running up the bill we would be tipping on was physically hurting him. Totally time for that guy to find a new job. It didn't help that he was pouring sweat, yuck. Stopped in again to have a drink at the bar and the guy back there blew out a tap all over our friend. He just stood there and said sorry. I had to grab bar napkins to help her clean herself up while he got a bar rag and wiped the counter. Do you think she got a free drink or anything from being sprayed down with a hipster beer? Who doesn't want to go to brunch at a place called "One World"? The name definitely suits this spot. Why? -The staff seems to be really open and friendly. Did you know Richard Pryor was from Peoria, IL? Now you do - thanks to the helpful tidbit I learned from my One World server yesterday. -The menu itself encompasses Americanized versions of Greek, Italian (really good pizza selection), Mexican (Chorizo breakfast scramble is on point), and some Asian cuisine in addition to the traditional American diner staples. The Elvis Waffle is one of the most glorious combinations of Bananas, Peanut Butter, and Bacon I've ever experienced - bring your insulin. I've also heard the hummus is top notch. -Surprisingly good beverage selection. Really really good coffee and a variety of lattes, frappes, etc. They also have a nice selection of craft beers and cocktails (including bloody mary's and mimosas for brunch). Good vibes all around. First off, let me just say, I'm from LA. I have high standards and this is my first time in the Midwest aside from Chicago. The guy who took my order had no clue about the different types of beer except for the fact that all of them are good. I asked for a Cuban pork sandwich without onions. Then when the server came with the sandwich, I said, "without onions right?" And he literally, with his bare hands, picked up the bread to check if there were onions. Twice. Because the first time he couldn't tell if they were there or not. Then I said IT'S OK. And then he checked the second time. WITH HIS BARE HANDS AGAIN : ( Otherwise the food is good. Had the spinach and artichoke dip too which is classic and good as mentioned in the name. I gave 2 less stars than I would have originally for those two incidents. Definitely good for Peoria though. New to Peoria/Bradley? Great place for a date, or just a nice lunch out. A new remodel brought in a new bar, and moved the kitchen to an adjacent storefront. Local artists showcase exhibits and works that are for sale. Definite artsy atmosphere, cool vibe, great service. My favorites: Breakfast, go for the the Original Eggs Alexander. For lunch, try the Cuban Pork sandwich with baked fries or veggies. The hummus is the absolute best i've had anywhere, but they hardly give you enough pita bread to go along with it. I went to Bradley from 02-06 and One World was always a favorite and it is one of the few Peoria gems I find myself missing to this day. I recently was back in Peoria for a day due to some fortuitous events and "brunched" here with fellow Bradley friends. It was as good as ever and the BBQ chicken pizza was just as I remembered it. However I'm only giving 3 stars due to the remarkably bitchy woman behind the counter. My friend decided to buy an overpriced t-shirt on our way out so he politely asked the woman behind the coffee bar if she could help him get one of the shirts locked behind glass. As if offended by the request, she snottily replied that she "had drinks to make" and told him he should "ask someone else." Then when my friend went to just look at the shirts already out on display she came over anyway to "help," which was a rather unpleasant exchange. She then abrasively asked a server if he could "just help these people" because she "had drinks to make." Whatever, lady, I get it, you're a barista - get over yourself. If management reads this you should put that barista prima donna in her place -- long dark brown hair, tattoos on her arm, and a terrible attitude -- can't miss her! read more

Wow, what a menu! One of my favorite things to see is a non-vegetarian restaurant that has a menu chock full of veg options. I'm not vegetarian myself, but I don't like to eat a lot of meat, so the variety of choices One World offers is really fantastic (no veg pasta, though? That's just weird). I haven't eaten here a lot, but I've stopped in a few times and enjoyed everything I've had. If we were closer, we'd probably be here at least once a month. This place isn't perfect. Some dishes seem priced a little high (though the pizzas are definitely enough for two, so that works out nicely), and service can be slow sometimes. Parking can be a real pain depending on time of day. But as a whole, this is a good, solid restaurant, and you WILL find something you like here. read more

My fiance and I were visiting Bradley, her Alma-matter, for a sorority reunion. She insisted that One World Cafe was a Bradley staple and that we HAD to visit it during our stay. We were immediately seated, despite the fact it was rather busy. The atmosphere was friendly and clean. Our waitress was friendly, prompt, and attentive. She ensured that our experience was positive. I was assured that the hummus was a must-try dish. We ordered the hummus based on this recommendation. I must say, it was quite good! It lived up to the high expectations set for it. The hummus was fresh, as was the pita that accompanied it. They have a wide variety of dishes, and the quality seems consistently good. This is a solid spot worthy of a try. read more

Servers and front desk staff are rude, the people behind the bar are worse than rude, Rather than blaming the customers or making excuses, it would be nice if whoever is in charge of this place actually took responsibility and tried to fix the problem. I came here for the first time with a large party of about 14 people for my bachelorette party dinner. The one thing that made the experience a downer was the wait staff. Our server never had a smile, and seemed annoyed about serving us. We were all very friendly, and I couldn't figure out why he was so grumpy. At one point I saw another server roll his eyes because there was confusion on whose salad was whose when it was served to the wrong person. We were not placing blame or being rude at all. They messed up on another order and offered to make it right but we were just passing through Peoria so we didn't have time to wait for them to remake it. You would expect the wrong order to have been at least discounted but we were charged full price. The french fries were just okay. I LOVED this place! I wasn't too thrilled about eating in Peoria while visiting Bradley University. I'm a food snob, I know it. Anyway, I always avoid the chains on these visits, but there are usually slim pickings. I had looked up a few places here and then someone from the University told us to visit here. We had a great time. The menu is so diverse, there are so many choices even for a "problem" child like me! I have a few food allergies, so there are usually slim pickings. Not here! They even had gluten free bakery products and I had to hold myself back from the giant chocolate cookie they offered. I had the santa fe chicken wrap deconstructed (for the food allergies) and they were VERY accomodating. Hubby and son #3 had a pizza which is kind of risky being from Chicagoland, but they really enjoyed it. This place just has a great, relaxed atmostphere. All the employees seemed just as happy to be there as the patrons. I made sure the manager, Phillip, knew how much we enjoyed our visit. I'm not sure if son #3 will end up at Bradley, but at least I know of one good dining spot there if I go back again. read more

As a vegetarian, this is my favorite place to eat in Peoria! I absolutely love the Santa Fe pizza. It has a really great mix of soyrizo and potatoes and who would have thought to put potatoes on a pizza! Also the pizza crust is fantastic. I don't consider myself to be a pizza fanatic at all but this is one of the best crusts I've ever had! Other things I've had: Baja quesadilla - very good and similar to the Santa Fe pizza. Baja rice - delicious! Spicy Cajun Pasta - not at all spicy but still very good. If you get the tofu they kind of overload it and it's a little strange but the pasta itself is good. I supposed it would probably be decent with the chicken if you're into that Mac n cheese - not the best Italian sodas - I really enjoy the watermelon one. Sometimes it's a little too sweet but that depends on who is making it Overall, this place has a great ambiance, friendly servers, and great food.
