It could be updated to look a bit more modern. Once you get past the initial feel of the website, everything else is just amazing. I submitted a quote online and within hours I got a call from one of their reps, Christine. Christine is an absolute joy to work with. She's amazing at her job. Unlike other lenders and big banks, you don't get passed around from person to person. Christine was there throughout the entire process. We were bidding on home after home and the rates were changing by the hour and somehow she was able to get us pre-approval letters within a few hours! After one of many of our offers was accepted, Christine worked with me, my agent and the seller's agent to put together a plan to close in 17 days! This isn't normal, but One True Loan was willing to go above and beyond to help us get the house. I can't thank everyone at One True Loan enough for going out of their way and their normal business model just because one of their clients needed it. During the escrow process Christine introduced me to Joanne. You think there's no way there could be two awesome, experienced and pleasant people in the same company but you'd be wrong. Joanne was so great and so helpful. I would get daily, if not hourly updates. I know they are super busy but they make you feel like you're the most important client they have. I don't understand why anyone goes to other companies or banks for buying a home or for refining. They have the best rates, lowest closing costs and the best customer service I have ever seen. I initially reviewed the rates of various lenders and settled on First Internet Bank, but being that the loan officer I got wasn't real upfront with the fees they charged or the fact that while filling out the online application I wasn't informed my credit would be run, I became nervous. So I went back to bankrate.com and found One True Loan. I called them up and spoke to Mo Mousa who was very kind and provided me a loan quote with their fee laid out clearly. He was very forthcoming and answered all my questions - so I decided to fill out their application and lock my rate. The entire process was pain free! I WISH I would have refinanced months ago but I thought it'd be such a hassle after hearing my coworkers experiences (p.s. Don't use Wells Fargo!). From the very beginning I alerted them 2 the fact that I needed my required minimum distributions to count as qualifying income. They kept me going through the whole process without disclosing their ignorance of the rules regarding required minimum distributions and failed to provide responsive answers to my input. The people you deal with either are badly informed on this particular issue or simply don't care to do what's required to provide meaningful responses. I wasted a lot of time with these people. Due to an imminent divorce, I had decided to buy out my partner and refinance my home loan before filing the divorce documents and I needed to find a lender fast. I can't say enough good things about One True Loan. You're absolutely crazy to not give these guys a call. And, actually you can get a true good faith estimate just by going online to their site. I was ripped off when I did my first mortgage on my first home and for the last two years I've learned everything I could about mortgages, brokers, loans, the process, etc. so when it came time to do my refinance i wouldn't get taken advantage of. In the process, I went thru probably 4 different brokers, from "upfront" brokers to the more popular giant lenders you see on every commercial, explaining the situation and that I was now educated on rates and credits that a lender gives back (basically all the games that are played EVEN with the new regulations and good faith estimates). Every single one played the same game and tried to make as much money off of my refi that they could instead of passing on that credit to me, and they would STILL be making money even if they were getting me a good deal. Dont be so excited when you hear you're getting a no cost loan. A no cost loan is great, but how about a no cost loan with extra money to go toward taxes or some third party costs. Credit from a lender can go toward some things but not others so you want to find someone who'll educate you how to not leave money on the table. I sound like an ad for One True Loan but I am absolutely blown away on how fast they did my refi (three weeks start to finish), on how honest they were with the rates and credits, and how easy they made the process. Of course every loan is different but when you can download a Good Faith Estimate before you even call them and see all the rates and more importantly the credits that the lender is giving back, you have nothing to lose by calling them. I guarantee you can match them up against anyone doing a mortgage and you'll see for yourself. Like i said before EVEN with the new guidelines there are brokers/lenders STILL able to keep money for themselves instead of getting you the absolute best possible deal. Try it and you'll see. I was informed by my CPA that I needed to consolidate my equity LOC with my first mortgage as 2018 I can not claim any interest paid to the Equity LOC. Our first time purchasing a home, we went through East West bank for a mortgage. We were told that the rates would not likely increase within one year. After seven months, the interest rates fluctuated every several months. Yes, even financial institutions can lie. We were looking to refinance and get away from the fluctuating rates which was how we found One True Loan (OTL). We worked with OTL twice now. First time, we refinanced two years ago and had a very positive experience. The loan officer responded immediately and was informative. He walked us through the steps, sent reminder emails on timelines we should be mindful of (e.g., escrow process, appraisals, when to sent documents), and was highly attentive to our needs. Just finished the loan process. Everything was so smooth. They are very responsive to all emails and phone messages. They have a nice document upload system to upload all of your sensitive documents without sending through unsecured email. They are both very professional and friendly, answered all my questions, and best of all didn't dodge questions that they didn't want to answer. I had many other lenders/brokers hem and haw and avoid questions about fees, but these guys answered my questions. And no bait and switch. Being new to how mortgage lending works, I was worried I"d end up getting tricked somehow into paying too much. But the loan that they quoted me ended up almost exactly the same (actually a little better) as the one I closed with. Competitive interest rate, low fees. And they closed on time. Which is great. I read so many reviews for other companies of the close date expiring and people having to pay extra to re-lock a rate. None of that here. They were very fast and on top of it. My only hiccup was due to my own ignorance as to the difference between loan origination fees and escrow funds (property taxes, homeowners insurance etc). So the amount required to fund my escrow account was unexpected, but they explained how the lender calculates it (also explains it on their GFE) so that you can calculate the amount yourself and know exactly how much you will owe.
