After being seated we were brought a little appetizer of fried wontons that were dusted with sugar I think. My kid snatched them up and ate them so fast I barely got the tiny crumb that I did. Meanwhile our orders were taken and the food quickly arrived. Flavors were on point and food came out hot and fresh. The requested mushrooms were omitted from my dish. Overall very satisfying food and good sized portions. Service-10/10. We were seated and had our orders taken very quickly. Staff was very open and welcoming. It felt like a very comfortable place. Atmosphere-10/10. A cute little strip of shops where the only worry it seems would be id a delivery driver for one of the shops blocks you in because there is t a lot of parking. After sampling these guys at a Yelp event, I decided I wanted to try the restaurant version. The sample I ate was good so I was hopeful that what was served in the restaurant would be even better, and I wasn't disappointed. The staff were super friendly and very attentive, and the place itself appeared to be well kept. The best part is they specialize in gluten-free/dairy-free, which is hard to come by. My BF and I tried the spring rolls and temporary shrimp along with chicken pad. Thai and general tso chicken for dinner. The appetizers were good, but nothing to write home about. The dinners on the other hand... were delicious. In many Asian places you end up with a lot of breading around the chicken, but at this place, they were huge chunks of chicken with a small amount of breading. The sauce was really good too with it being a little sweet with a bite. I giggled as I saw my BF snarfing down his food (it's not normal for him), which is to say that he was very much enjoying it. This was my first visit and won't be my last. While I am not gluten free my friend is and she is a repeat customer. There aren't any other Asian restaurants in town that we know of and they do gluten free to perfection. I liked the chicken teriyaki and the serving was perfect. My family and I had heard good things about this place and decided to try them out before the end of the year. Overall the place didn't disappoint me, considering it's a small restaurant a bit hidden from the main streets of our community. The decor might use some sprucing, but not terrible. The service was great and very friendly. Although we felt the entrées took a bit long for meals to arrive, the waiter made sure to keep the sugar fried nachos on hand while waiting. Once the meals arrived, I found the presentation wasn't consistent with the theme. I also thought the portions were adequate for the price. I found my dish was perfectly made and very flavorful, although my wife found hers a bit bland. I had the hibachi chicken and steak combination with traditional Asian veggies and fried rice. She had the Tempora shrimp dinner with fried veggies and rice. My girls were happy with their Teriyaki chicken with white rice. My son didn't have a huge appetite, so he ordered a Rainbow Roll. All meals also came with soup and salad except for the roll. We ordered soft drinks without checking their drinks menu. We were visiting friends for New Years weekend in Jacksonville. Our friends recommended One Third Asian, it was one of the best Asian cuisine restaurants I have eaten at in a longtime. Our waitress, Fenny, was wonderful. She was so helpful, and really understood all of our dietary needs. They have a large selection of gluten-free and vegan options. The food was prepared perfectly. The sushi was presented beautifully. We had tofu in basil sauce, gluten-free chicken katsu, lomein, and sushi. Great sauces and flavors. They offer Chinese, Thai , and Japanese food, all under one roof (hence the name "One Third). The service was a team approach. We had two people taking care of our table and they were both very attentive to us. The restaurant was very clean. The dining area was casual and comfortable. They have a full sushi bar that you can dine at. Jack, the business owner, came by our table to make sure that we were enjoying our experience. He was extremely friendly and personable. I wanted to like this place as we don't have enough good Asian restaurants in our area. We saw a movie at Durbin and picked up dinner afterwards. We opted for the General Tso chicken, which was disappointing. The chicken wasn't tender, & the sauce was far too sweet-it's supposed to have some spice! We also ordered beef teriyaki, which was truly awful. My husband favors beef dishes, & he refused to eat it. The beef was cut in very large chunks, which were gray, tough & flavorless. Finally, we ordered chicken pad Thai and requested it be made spicy, but it was profoundly bland. The fried rice & lo mein noodles were similarly flat tasting. It's as if the only flavoring used during cooking is a little soy sauce and/or a lot of sugar. There were no red pepper flakes or bits of minced garlic or ginger in any of the dishes. We will stick to Lemongrass or Sichuan Kitchen. read more

I am so glad we finally tried it. The restaurant is nicely decorated with plenty of nice booth and table seating. Service was quick as well as pleasant from all staff working there. The menu offers appetizers, soups, salads, sushi, hibachi, and traditional Chinese dishes. I opted for kung pao chicken, and it was very good. My husband had the teriyaki beef lunch box, which came with a salad and a sushi roll. My mother in law had a hibachi steak entree. It was great, and it also came with a good bowl of wanton soup and a side salad. She loved it all. We also loved the complimentary wonton chips delivered to the table upon our arrival. My bf and I wanted some sushi Saturday evening however he is celiac. In short we always try to find gluten friendly accommodating places to eat and sometimes it's a hit or miss with Asian places outside of Thai and Indian cuisine. My bf found this online and found labels and some reviews from the celiac community (thank you for these reviews because it matters)! Our server was so nice and even made sure if he was gluten free due to allergen or if it was just for his diet (there's a difference). She went ahead and gave his gf soy sauce and told us if there was something on the menu that isn't labeled gf but could be, she would let us know. We had the lettuce wrappers for the appetizer and a bunch of sushi rolls after. The lettuce wraps were delicious but definitely on the saltier side. Only reason why I'm giving this 4 stars is because the way they roll the sushi is not that great. I've been to better sushi places and know what quality rolled sushi looks like. However the fish and ingredients used here were great! So overall if you're gf and want some good sushi, definitely check this place out!
