If it sounds too good to be true, it's a SCAM!

So this is how my experience went. I must have signed up on their website online.
The phone calls started. "We have decided you have a unique look, you are what we are looking for...blah blah blah". I ignored them and they kept calling and emailing. The voice-mails and emails already had me scheduled for specific dates and times. I ignored that again, scam scam scam.
Until one day I had a casting near their office and decided oh what the hell I'll give them a try. They confirmed a few times by email and even by phone. The email stressed that punctuality is important and to come 15mins early before 7pm... Also the email said we should sort of dress up, no sandals or too casual but jeans were ok. I was coming from another casting in nice make-up, hair, dress and even bough high heels.
Late, but finally at the address, a young woman my age stood outside asking if she could help me. I told her I was looking for One Source Talent and she said yes its this way, but you are really late (15mins late) and they usually don't let late people in. I saw people sitting in the small lobby but I said ok no problem and was about to leave because honestly I didn't think this was a real agency anyways, although they are located on a very visible part of the street and are the first suite you see in the nice building.
The young woman told me to wait a second while she asked if it was ok for me to stay, it was and she had me fill out some paperwork. I did and asked if they had a bathroom. I was told no and I would have to walk down the street to Bed Bath and Beyond for a bathroom, WHAT, no bathroom at all considering all the people and kids you have in your office everyday? She wouldn't tell me if there was a bathroom in the whole office building which I am positive there was. Well at least she was polite. So I patiently waited in the small lobby for maybe 20 minutes doing nothing. Meanwhile there was an older African American lady next to me who didn't look like a model or an actress, another African American lady with a kid and an older Hispanic gentleman. I heard some loud,convincingly annoying voice mumbling something from the other room, where I was not allowed to go into even though I really wasn't that much late. I wondered what he was trying to sell to the hopefuls in the other room and why he would be talking so loudly if there were not that many people. Finally another African American lady and child came out of the other room and the door lady told us "you can go in now".
I enter the other room and see 10-20 people seated in what looks like a classroom staring at at tv. Almost all of them are African American, maybe a few Hispanic and maybe another Caucasian family besides me. Almost none of them are as dressed as me and I raise some eyebrows. None of them looked like professional actors,one looked like she could be model.
The front desk girls stand at the door with a clipboard leering over who could possibly pay for their next meal in the room, calling out names as families or single hopefuls go in one by one. I even heard a dog barking. After an hour I'm called in.
As I go into some room I'm greeted by a hatted character who orders me to stand in front of his desk. I'm guessing he was the presenter of the lecture I missed earlier. He begins asking me some questions about my experience, his tone seems to get condescending and like he's not there to work with me as a professional representative of a model or actress. He sneaks in some comments about my age (AGE IS ALWAYS IRRELEVANT IN ANY NORMAL AGENCY, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE AGE YOU CAN PORTRAY). He then asks me if I have a regular job a couple of times. I mention that I have one but it allows me to have a free schedule to work anytime. Then he asks where my family is (who cares really it should be none of his business). He asks me if I have a head shot and I say yes but I didn't bring it, and that I have comp-cards I can update to be current. I also tell him I had an agent in San Francisco before and have done several jobs. He then starts slamming that I need to get great head shots because the ones I have (which I'm sure he didn't see even though I emailed it to them) are not good enough. I need to get ones that costs around $500. Umn no I don't you can get a decent one for free to - $200 as a model. So about 1min after I go in, the tirade ends with me getting no useful information what-so-ever. He says that I can come back when I have some decent headshots...WHAT? you have't seen mine. I ask how I can get him the ones I have and he tosses his business card to me and tells me I can go...OKKKK obviously not going to send him anything.
TOTAL SCAM AND BS, DON'T WASTE TIME!
BTW, none of the 3 staff people (two receptionists and the hat dude) looked older then 25 and don't look even mildly qualified to be running an office or getting your $. read more
