I've always wanted to experience being in front of the camera, and Uncut Casting helped me achieve that dream. The process to sign up was pretty straight forward and easy. The orientation and contract were very informative on what their expectations are. The team is always timely and nice with their responses (combination of text messages and emails). I do have a full-time job, but Uncut has worked with me and my schedule. They also offer opportunities on days that I might not be available, which is great since I've been able to move my schedule around to accommodate. I've been part of a TV show and a few commercials since joining, and they've all been great experiences. As long as you're on time, responsive, and professional, you'll keep hearing back from them. My friend referred me to Uncut. Have been with them 6 months and have no complaints. I have been working in the industry for 10 years and have seen my share of companies who portray themselves to have my best interests in mind. I can wholeheartedly say Uncut is the real deal. Excellent  customer service and even though some months are more fruitful than others, I know  they are keeping me in the game! I think a lot of new actors just don't understand that landing roles is up to the actor and the company hiring the actor. Uncut is a liaison between the two. Uncut just tries to put us in the right place at te right time. They also require consistent communication via their site and from my interaction with some of their members on sets, the ones that complain aren't even updating their Uncut calendar, are missing fields in their online profile, or aren't  bothering to follow through with Uncut's protocols.  They even  have a policy thst encourages members to contact them if no bookings after 1.5 months:) And you get out on their "priority list" Their basic extra service only costs $1 to register and then $60 reg fee not due until 1st booking! Now that's putting your money where your mouth is! After that, they just charge you 10% per booking fee per job! They have other services that require a monthly fee to get submitted to more substantial roles. I love that service because they even show me what they're submitting me too. read more

Uncut was okay round 2016/17. This past July I rejoined, having them look for principle and background work. In 2 months of dealing with multiple people giving me the runaround and no work assignments; I dropped them in August. My account is still active and they are still taking dues from my bank account. They've received roughly $220 from me and I've gotten nothing but a headache. Sign up directly with Central Casting for background and seek out a real agent for principal work. I signed with Uncut in February 2018. I signed with an agent in August who wouldn't allow me to keep a calling service. But in the 5.5 months I was with them, they sent me an offer to self-tape for a commercial which I booked! It was a principal role with lines. They also booked me on a music video & I got myself upgraded to the lead. I had lines with the artist. It was acting, very professional, no dancing. I was happy they got me the opportunity to get myself upgraded. Afterward, on a call with them, they said that if I called the Emergency Line while on set, they may have been able to negotiate for me to get more money. Honestly, other services may book you for more background work because they work with the larger casting companies. But, Uncut only works with agencies they have relationships with. Registered a few months ago, , and my experience has been positive so far. Their staff is professional and courteous and I love that they spend the time carefully explaining their policies during their orientation. As an actor starting out in this industry, transparency is key. They don't overpromise which I think is a good sign! They have an extra's service and the Actor's service which focuses on submitting you to principal and featured roles. I've gotten some extra roles and some great principal auditions and feel they are a good resource. They aren't the end game but definitely have helped me along my journey. I've been with Uncut since late February 2014. They got me as much non-union background work as I wanted on such hit shows as Parks & Recreation and two episodes each on The Newsroom and Kingdom aka Navy Street. Last time I did that one I got bumped up to union, which paid more than double and helped me get my SAG card. When I first signed up I sprung for the $150 Gold membership to save money on future booking fees and to help me be near the top of their list for gigs. The other way to stay on their radar is by logging onto their website and updating your availability... often. I do it almost every day and it's helped a lot. That way they see you're serious about wanting to work and that you have a professional attitude about it. If you're non-union, of course you'll get more background work, but Jacques and the staff are continuing to promote me for union gigs as well. Lastly, I just want to say how grateful I am to Jacques and the great Uncut staff for all the work they've given me over the past 14 months. It's been a real blast and I've learned a lot. And... they are consummate pros! They work their butts off to get you work and I've been completely happy with them. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to work great background gigs without having to try to beat the rush at Central Casting. I have been registered with Uncut Casting since 2011. They have booked me on three SAG Background jobs over the years - one of them was for a SAG commercial and two were for SAG films. Union rate commercials are hard to book so I was very happy when I got that call! And on the last film we all made crazy $ because we were on the set for over 18 hours!! Talk about OVERTIME pay! Uncut Casting is quite the catch when it comes to a professional and personable call-in service. I found out about Uncut Casting through a working actor and after seeing him book multiple high profile shows like Grey's Anatomy and feature films, I knew I had to sign up. After signing up, within a week, I was booked on a feature film and I've had at least one gig and/or an audition a week from this casting company since I joined in June (minus any week that I was unavailable). This is honestly one of the most hard-working casting agencies I have encountered in LA and Talin and Jaques are always doing their best to get me out on-set. Jaques and Talin are personable, professional, and sweet. They are working for you, and they work hard, but just like any business, you also have to make it easy for them to get you booked. By being up to date and truthful about your availability and profile, but also being accessible via phone, text, or email at any time of day or night, Uncut will go above and beyond to get you onset and I can say this last bit with confidence because I am living proof: I worked on the TV show Navy Street today by being available last minute which I booked through Uncut. Take note LA. Keep in mind, this industry runs on its own time, not yours, but Uncut does its best to accommodate all of its talent by making it convenient to update availability online and Jaques and Talin are understanding. I have been with Uncut Casting since March 19th of 2016 and I have been very pleased with how determined and hard working they are at getting me booked for production. I used to belong to "Print Models Network" during the 2000's and I have to say "Uncut Casting" has been just as consistent in the amount of work they get me just like the previous casting management service I had previously with background work, help with acting classes and even ways to get to auditions. Their website alone is rich in information on how to get into show business whether as an actor or just to learn about the industry in other ways which is good. Now with the advancement of online interactions for booking, production information and availability; Uncut Casting takes full advantage by letting oneself interact with them for fast and accurate bookings with 100% accuracy. Something which was not as easy a long time ago. This makes bookings like a piece of cake but with the professionalism attached to it. Makes flexibility easy with their availability calendar going for up to a month with options of either being available, booked, out of town and etc. On a daily bases. I have been very happy with the commercials, shows and movies they have gotten me on and they really want to ensure that both production and talent are very satisfied with the end results. They even got me work with Central Casting which is highly saturated with background talent competing for work through telephone calls constantly being busy from high volume submissions. The only thing is that background talent should be very professional on set and always be on time (15 minutes earlier). I took a break from background for a few years focusing on principal work only. I finally joined SAG-AFTRA last year and received a random text from Jacques recently asking if I was available last minute for a gig. It was such a pleasant surprise. LA Uncut has been a wonderful gate way for me as I made my trek across the country to pursue acting on screen. My current experience with performing has been from the stand point of live stage musicals and plays. I decided to move to the LA area and learn more about the TV/film/commercials aspect of performing. I knew I had to start somewhere and began by looking into background and extra work to get some hands on experience with how being behind a camera differs from being on stage. I saw Uncut's listing on backstage.com and decided to find out more info about them. Before making the phone call to go meet in person I did my due diligence of searching for reviews online. Like any business you are going to find good reviews and bad reviews, but I was pleased to see that Jacques personally responded to those who had poorly reviewed the company. This shows character and a willingness to improve. Like a coin there are always two sides to every story and hearing from both sides helps provide insight. I have now been with Uncut for not even a full month and they have already helped in finding me some wonderful opportunities to experience what happens behind the lens. I have been able to portray a cop on a shoot for TV series, a restaurant patron for a feature film, a zombie-like character for a music video and most recently a bigger opportunity to play a feature character in a re-enactment for a series on about Hurricanes for the weather channel. Jacques personally called me about this opportunity to give me the heads up and then called me back to say the casting company had chosen me! This industry has it's ups and downs, highs and lows, and is very difficult for some to understand. The first thing is to just start getting out there and get yourself as much exposure as possible. Uncut helps make that a reality and even tells you what you can do to increase your chances of being selected. They want you to succeed, but that's not going to happen with work on your part as well. Keep your profile and availability updated, be on time when you are booked, bring everything that is asked of you plus a couple extras, and act professional when on a set. Also know that you aren't always going to be selected and this has nothing to do with Uncut. Casting directors and companies are looking for very specific things from your hair color to what size shoe you wear. Uncut is very up front about who they are, what they do and will even make accommodations for those that need assistance. Ask questions and educate yourself first. Don't always take someone else's word for gold and understand that mistakes/miscommunications can happen. It's how you deal with them afterward that shows who you truly are.
