Love the pediatrician, Dr. Ima Nabiuny. I do not like One Medical's system. Brought my son in for his 4-month appointment and vaccines. We had our appointment first with Dr. Ima, then was brought back to the lobby to be checked in for vaccines. My husband and I figured while we were there with our son, we would also get our flu vaccines. Little did we know, the receptionist checked my husband, myself and my son in, all as flu vaccines. The phlebotomist, Johnny brought us to the lab, gave my husband and I the flu vaccines, saving our son last. He gave one vaccine to my son and said we were done. We said that he's due for more than one vaccine, which one did he get? Johnny gave the flu vaccine to my son without confirming that is what he was giving, and all of this after we spoke to Dr. Ima, telling us that we start the flu vaccine at 6 months of age. Johnny quickly brought Dr. Ima in after he explained what happened. Dr. Ima was wonderful in doing research and informed us that the flu vaccine at 4 months of age is merely unnecessary but shouldn't have any negative effects other than normal vaccine soreness and lethargy. Later, I was contacted by the phlebotomist manager stating their protocol is to confirm the person's name, date of birth, what vaccines are to be administered and even show the vaccines' expiration date on the label. Knowing none of this happened, I know to check in future visits and it has been fruitful as wrong vaccines have been offered to my son at the Walnut Creek location. I hope they fix their system and that staff follow the protocols, but I would highly advise checking the vaccines before the phlebotomist gives them because I would hate for another family to go through what we did. read more
